It took me forever to finally find this truck. Boy, were my taste buds overjoyed when I finally was able to bite into a meatball. Their meatballs are the best. The matador is my all time fav.

Great food truck that is at almost every event in downtown KC area. Definitely hunt this down if something’s going on, you won’t regret it. I’m a vegetarian food snob, and assumed they didn’t have vegetarian options. But when I was at First Fridays in Crossroads yesterday I stopped to check it out and discovered that they have a vegetarian meatball option pretty much every time they’re out and about! The one I had last night had pesto, shaved parmesan and other assorted deliciousness and it was to. die. for. I got it on a slider. I believe it was made with protein-rich chickpeas and lentils if I’m not mistaken. Go out and support these local folks, who found a way to be considerate to vegetarians but also have gourmet meat-atarian options on their meatball food truck. They work in this truck day or night, rain or shine, heat or cold, just to make sure the good people of Kansas City are well-fed when we’re out on the town.(Apparently the inside of this food truck heats up to like 140 degrees at its worst when the heat is like it has been.) Loved it, and will definitely be back to see what else they throw on the menu!

Gourmet and meatballs sounds like a cruel pairing that was never meant to be. Perhaps that’s why this isn’t just any meatball tour, but rather a magical one as that’s exactly how this scenario plays out. A healthy helping of fresh ingredients, some minor juvenile menu humor, and a reinvention of the traditional meatball sub appears before your eyes. I’ve thus far had two different iterations of their dishes(the Bleu Balls and the Dragon Balls) and it is no hyperbole to state that the sauce on the Bleu Balls sub made me want to eat my hand when I dripped on it. If you’re eating their food out of Czar Bar(where they’ve currently set up shop for this winter interlude) spring for the extra kettle chips with the crumbled cheese on top, worth the price hike. Honestly, the only knock is it’s a little more pricey eating out of Czar Bar than the truck itself. There will be those who would rather spring 5 bucks for a footlong at a chain, and while I agree you’ll walk away more full for less money, the flavor and quality isn’t worth comparing. I actually have steered strangers to this outfit as I believe it’s earned it’s reputation as homespun, tasty, and unique. A trifecta!

They were at the KC Green Fair last Thursday so I was excited to be able to try them based upon reviews. I was not disappointed one bit. The bread didn’t get soggy like most others do. I had the Italian(although the spicy chipotle was tempting). The sauce was thick with just the right amount of seasoning, plus it wasn’t sweet — extra points there. The shaved parmesan added just the right touch. The owners get five stars for customer service and personality. The sandwich was much too large for me to finish but I did anyway because it was so delicious. My only regret? Eating it right before going to the doctor and getting weighed after eating the whole thing :). I hope that my husband is with me the next time I see the truck because he started drooling when I told him about it. Good luck to this business. I hope to see them around for a long time!

I tried out the MMT at the Waldo Fall Festival today and was quite pleased with what I had. First off, they had three selections and one was vegetarian. Awesome. The veggie option was Pumpkin with Sage and was faaaaan-tas-tic. A little veggieball of pumpkin flavored subtly with sage, then four of these placed onto a good white roll, topped with a light bechamel sauce and a sprinkling of fried sage. All this for $ 6. Yea! Really, this was a great fall dish, and the fried sage made it all the more savory. The bechamel sauce was ok, I liked the moisture and richness that it gave the sandwich, but it could have used a hint more flavor in and of itself, otherwise the pumpkinballs were perfect– not too dry, not so moist as to fall apart, and great flavoring. Also, the service was fast and friendly with a little humor. Nice. I look forward to seeing them again at other area events, this is a winner, kids!

I want to love you guys. The food is quality, of that I am sure. The only problem is, my Italian meatball sandwich was bland and that was a downer. The bread was fresh, the shaved parm was a nice touch and the flat-leaf parsley was above and beyond. Where did the spice go?

How do I say this… these balls are fantastic! I love to see people so passionate about one thing and have the balls to do it so well. They put on a great show at the Westport Food Truck Fest. They«expanded» there menu to include a mini plate of meatballs(everything on the sub, less the bun, plus a ball). It was a 5-star mini dish, and the only reason I’m giving them 4 here is one to grow on – they have a ton of talent and I am hungry to try more from the Magical Meatball Tour!

Well, I had high hopes when I saw someone at the Westport Food Truck Festival with a meatball sandwich from Magical Meatball Tour. I mean, when I saw the baguette with sauce, fresh basil, and shaved parmesan on it, I knew I had to have one. I stepped right up and got the $ 5 mini 3 meat Italian meatball sandwich and was pretty disappointed. There were two meatballs on a baguette that was so wide that the meatballs only took up half the space there. The taste was just ok, and when you factor in value the experience was definitely only two stars. I wish the Magical Meatball Tour crew the best, but their balls were definitely not the best balls I’ve ever had in my mouth.

The MMT impressed us months ago at the Electric Park Event and came back full force at the Food Truck Festival with more of their mouth-watering meatballs. Their menu is small with only two options: a mini meatball sub or a mini vegetarian meatball sub. Who needs a large menu when your area of experise is so percise? These guys know without a doubt that they produce the best meatballs around KC. One of the guys, all decked out in a black hat and bow tie, will stand out in the sweltering heat with his customers and will hand your steaming sub to you! So glad you made it to the Food Truck Festival!

First to review… Venus Vanhorn, Ceaser Reyes, and Mat Adkins(the guy with the suspenders, and mustache), do a fantastic job with this foodtruck. I’ve watched it grow from a small idea to the large entity that it is. Again I’ve said this before, I get better food from the Kansas City foodtrucks, than I do from most restaurants. I was on Facebook the very moment it was posted that they had reached their goal on Kickstart. This truck was present for the Westport Food Truck festival, that I attended with Sara D. I think, truly, our number one goal of that evening, was to get a meatball sandwich before they ran out. We succeeded. MMBT was also at the Electric Unilocal event. I knew those were very special balls, and the work that has been done to get this far. Sara ordered the meatball sandwich, I ordered the vegetarian meatball sandwich. Oh Lord. It was huge. It was more food than I eat in a week. It was so good. I couldn’t tell the meat was vegetarian. The bread was fresh, and the sauce tasted like what I would make from scratch. Literally these two chefs, Ceaser and Venus have their act together when crafting balls that go into people’s mouths.
