I wish I got the artists name. The two dudes that were working were hilarious and amazing. I was pleased w the work and the atmosphere. Good spot.

Jacob Loney is a BADASS!!! My family and I were on vacation and wanted something to remember the vacation by. Other tattoo shops in the area acted like we were putting them out by asking to have last minute work done. Not only did Jacob spend time perfecting our ideas, but he stayed until 1 in the morning to make sure that our ink work was perfect. I am very grateful to the staff at the ink parlor as well as Jacob Loney for making our vacation an incredibly memorable one, as well as doing incredible work that I will always remember and treasure. If anybody is ever wondering about having work done in Kansas City I highly suggest seeing Jacob because his work speaks for itself. I consider Jacob a friend and thank him from the bottom of my heart for such great work.

I was elated with my visit to The Ink Parlor! Amy Bug was my artist, she was amazing to work with making me feel right at home and was phenomenally able to work with my design and execute what I wanted. Since my 3 hour experience was so wonderful – I’ve already started to think about what I want her to do next.

Excellent work by Rachael there. I have three tattoos from there and I never have had a problem. They are also very flexible.

4 friends and I decided, on a whim, to take advantage of the Friday the 13th specials here last week. After arriving and finding they couldn’t fit us in by the end of the night, we purchased gift cards that they would honor for the deal and made arrangements to come back the following Monday. I was impressed that even in the chaos on Friday(there was at least a 30 – 40 person line at 10pm), the staff was patient in answering our questions, and kind and friendly in all of their interactions with us. Our appointment was great. I was a little nervous since it was my first tattoo but the staff were awesome. The only reason I’m not giving a 5th star is, I would’ve loved a bit more instruction on post tattoo care.

I LOVE Rachael and Amy at The Ink Parlor. After some beautiful work, but disappointing scheduling issues with another artist(who no longer works there) Rachael has done her absolute best to make up for my less-than-great experience. Amy does amazing stippling/pointillism work, and Rachel does lovely lines. I came to The Ink Parlor because of a Living Social deal. I’ve had 4 tattoos done there now, and I will continue to go to Amy and Rachael any time I need more work. They both make you feel so comfortable, are amazing at custom work, and are happy to chat with you if that’s what you need to get through the pain. Both of them also have an especially gentle touch(bonus!). Love those gals!

Two of my friends and I went in without appointments and they saw us right away. We just got four words, «life’s short, play hard» but we didn’t know what font we wanted and they drew up a couple and changed it according to what we wanted and were so nice about it. A lot of tattoo places can be snobby but these guys were awesome, very laid back and easy to talk to. We were a little indecisive about size and placement and they were so patient and gave great advice to help us decide. They had the best sense of humors to help with the nervousness and pain. Definitely going back for any tattoos I get in the future!

When I entered the shop looking for Tim, I expected to find an artist who had been in the business for decades based on his online portfolio. Instead I found a young man whose talent, in my opinion, is FAR beyond his years! I just completed my third session with Tim; we had been working on a large, grey-scale back piece(coverup) for about the past month now. The tattoo has turned out so incredibly gorgeous, and I am fully confident that this third sessions scarring will heal just as quickly as the first two sessions did. The shop is clean and has a fun and quirky vibe; there is always music and fun conversation going on in the background to take your mind off of the needles ;) HIGHLY recommended!

My wife and I have been getting tattooed by Rachael for a little over a year now, I am working on a sleeve and when that’s done I will continue going back for the rest of the tats I want. My wife has gotten 5 tats from Rachael. She is a great artist and is fun to sit and chat with while your getting tattooed. I have had some ink done by Tim too and he is equally as talented. The shop is very clean and we have never been disappointed by any of the work we’ve had done. Great place and great people!

I have been going to Rachael for 3 years for my tattoos and piercings. There is a reason I keep coming back. She is friendly and knowledgeable and will work with you to make sure you have a solid tattoo that you will be happy with forever. I have 4 fairly large pieces and several small tattoos done by her, as well as filler work on my arm. I get complements on my ink practically every day. That says something right there. She has also done 4 out of 8 of my piercings and I have never had any problems with any of them and made sure each time that I remembered how to properly care for them. I am also hyper aware of sanitation procedures, because I work in the beauty industry, and we also have to follow certain guidelines to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and such and I would give this shop an A+ in cleanliness.

I’d like to preface this by saying I have eight piercings that have never had any issues with healing or rejection, and that hopefully this review saves someone from receiving some botched piercing and having to deal with potential medical bills. For your own sake, stay away. Let me start out by saying that the initial worry started when I stopped by one day and asked to see Rachel’s piercing portfolio before I had even made an appointment.(A friend had purchased a LivingSocial deal for me, but I’m picky when it comes to who’s piercing me.) The first bad sign after walking in to my appointment was hearing the«artists» bash– and loudly– on other local shops. Not a good first impression. After these two negative things I probably should have just walked out, but of course I didn’t. The piercing itself was average– everything was sanitary, she had me lay down, etc. Whatever. It was fine. The problem arose after I got up and was getting ready to pay. Before offering ANY information on proper cleaning instructions or healing time, Rachel was shoving a fat stack of business cards in my hand. Um. What? I had to ASK about how to clean my fresh piercing.(Keep in mind, I know very good and well how to properly clean a piercing correctly. I was more or less feeling out how customers were treated.) Skip to two days later. My piercing had swollen over the barbell bead, and was entirely overtaking the jewelry– all while taking on a scary purple hue. This was after perfect care and no outside irritation. I called my trusted piercer immediately and he requested I come in ASAP. I kid you not, his first words after having me sit down were, «Oh, shit.» NOT the words you want to hear coming from the trusted, reputable professional this person is. Basically, Rachel had used the completely wrong type of jewelry for the size of my ear(it didn’t allow for natural swelling at all) and I would have had to seek medical attention if I had waited any longer. For your own sake, just pay the extra ten or fifteen dollars to go somewhere reputable. Please.
