I just wanted to put in a good word for this customer friendly establishment. We were recently visiting Kansas City and needed to find a sports bar to watch the Warriors in the first game of the Finals. We are from the Bay Area. We wandered into The Blue Line late in the afternoon and found the place to our liking. Best of all, the bartender appreciated how much the game meant to us and when we came back shortly before the game, she had a table reserved for us with a perfect view of the game. The staff could not have been nicer. The beer was great, the bar food totally satisfying and by the end of the night we felt like family. This is a place that deserves to be patronized. Oh yeah, the Warriors won.

People keep talking about The Blue Line… so we had to go. It’s kind of popular… and BUSY so when you walk in, it seems a little like the juke box just stopped working and it’s your fault… The owner took pity on us after my husband asked about the sidewalk seating and took us under his wing bringing us menus, giant chalices of chardonnay and a server, not completely dedicated to our table but wonderful! The food was really yummy. Exactly what we needed and wanted on a Saturday night after a show at Grinder’s. One last thought, I feel like these dart players must be the best of the best in KC. They have to concentrate on their dart game(match?) AND allow people in and out of the restrooms… WHAT? I pride myself on being pretty focused while playing darts but I would imagine that more than one game has been lost because of a drunk girl coming out of the Ladies a little too quickly…

Horrible service. Placed an appetizer order and after waiting 45 minutes for it, it still had not come. Then, I asked to cancel it because I couldn’t wait any longer — turns out the waitress hadn’t even put the order in. Then, the waitress left mid-shift. I will not be returning to the Blueline because of the extremely poor customer service.

I take my previous post back. Literally waited forever for service, sat at the table for almost 10 minutes. Tried to stay cool but it’s sad someone is sitting here for that long without menus or ANYTHING. Worst service ever

Blueline rocks. Don’t let the awesome dive bar vibe fool you, the food is excellent– highly recommend the Mac and Cheese. My wife had the chimichanga and it was great too. The service was great-Jennifer was cool and we’ll ask for her again. The owner came by and asked about our food, which is really cool too. We will be back.

Blueline is more than just a hockey bar, it’s an all around great place with some of the best food around. No matter what your sport of choice is if they can turn it on they will and it’s friendly staff will help you navigate through the extensive menu ranging from fish tacos and walleye nuggets to a great burger and they have an ever growing selection of drafts and mixed drinks. They have the best 7 day a week 3 – 7 pm Happy Hour in town. They really know how to crank up the jukebox, and during games drink specials flow too. I love all of the staff and the owners are very involved and always happy to help. Cheers!

This place has the best bar tacos in Kansas City. On Tuesdays they are 1.75 each. Generally, the atmosphere is a sports bar, with average bar food. But… if you come, have the carnitas tacos with a side of «burn your face off» sauce and you will probably be happy

A little bit of Canada in the river market and heavily repping their love of hockey. Everything else is familiar though. Lots of fried bar food, TV’s on every wall with a sports game on, and a nicely priced happy hour. I think it was 3.50 for drafts and 2 $ on wells, some other good specials and their friendly atmosphere make it an easy choice for a group hangout. Right at the entrance to the river market by Harrys country club. Service is always attentive and friendly.

We are big hockey fans, and I have been here many, many times with friends. If I could just review the food, they would get five stars, no question. Every single time in my experience, the food had been amazing. My favorites are the tenderloin sandwich and the hamburger. Tacos, mac & cheese, and other items have been really solid. Great beer selection for a smaller bar, too, lots of Shlafly and Boulevard on tap as well as the typical domestics. The reason I can’t give this place anything better than 3 stars is the service. The service is consistently terrible. I have never been where I didn’t have to go to the bar myself for everything — drinks, food, refills, check. Staff behind the bar is often in the phone with their backs turned to you, then give you a surly«I’ll get your server». They don’t seem understaffed, just unmotivated. I’ve waited tables, so I know how much work it is. I never leave bad tips… But I have wanted to so badly here. I don’t usually come for lunch because food usually takes forever to come out of the kitchen(although on my most recent visit, it was packed and food came out very timely, so I don’t want to be unfair on that). Happy hour is fun. Honestly if their food weren’t so darned good, I would probably never go back. Beware that if there is a football game on, it will take precedence on the TVs over hockey… Even though it’s a hockey bar… hmm… TL;DR: Food — 5 stars, service — 1 star, fun for happy hour, don’t be in a hurry. Go, Mavs!

This is a hockey bar 4 hours from the nearest NHL franchise but that doesn’t diminish the attraction. The place gets busy, particularly with great happy hour specials, and offers a decent menu of better than average bar food. The hockey memorabilia is pretty cool and there are plenty of TVs to display the ongoing games.

NOTE: I’ve only been here once, and anyone can have a bad day. Having said that… Went for lunch with some friends from work. The Walleye nuggets were cooked right, but they had no taste or flavor at all and there were bones everywhere. The steak fries weren’t done and all the seasoning was on two fries. If I were only reviewing the food, they would get one star. However, the service was decent and it had a decent sports bar feel. I don’t think I’d go back.

I would love to give this place 5 stars but the food was missing some attention. The place is a nice size sports bar, with lots of sports stuff hanging around especially hockey. I hear it known as the hockey bar and literally everyone knows everyone here. Lots a regulars that come after minskys closes. The bartender Deb and I forget the Latin guys name but I couldn’t ask for a better bartender omg they were awesome. Making this place that much better for me. He even created a shot drink that had a bacon piece afterwards! I freaking love him. It was good and of course i love bacon. The food. Whyyy. So I order the chicken quesadilla and a beef churchy taco. The quesadilla was made like a teenager had stuffed a whole bunch of chicken at the base and then put loads of cheese on top and flattened it. Bam there u go. The salsa that comes with both very good but I doubt it house made. The taco was ground beef, no clue why I was expecting tiny cuts of beef. Again here’s some beef, lettuce, and cheese. Someone told me to get the sampler next time I will. Will be back again. I like the barrrr ten dersss.

A burger isn’t that hard to make. Fresh ingredients, a nice bun and some seasoning. The Blueline is missing the last component. The burger patty was handmade with good beef. It was also cooked to perfection but it was bland, tasteless with no flavor what so ever. Just a little salt and pepper and this would have been great! Steak fries were delicious. Service was average. Not sure if I will be back but if I do return I hope they sprinkle a little S&P on my burger next time.

This place is great! I randomly decided to come and watch a Sunday night Royals game here after driving/walking past it many times. I’m not a big hockey fan but I can appreciate the cool atmosphere and work they put into it. I mean they have signed stuff everywhere. Everybody here was super friendly and I had great conversation with multiple other patrons. Lots of TVs to choose from as well. Tap selection is alright. They have multiple beers from Schlafly on tap which is awesome. Your regular domestics and a couple other craft selections. A sort of unique selection of tallboys which consisted of Schlitz, Rolling Rock, Busch Light, PBR, and Natural Light… Good drink specials too. I did end up getting an order of the boneless wings. Half Parmesan Garlic and half hot. Holy crap these were probably the best boneless wings I’ve ever had. I really want to come back and try more food options. Did I mention they’re open until 3AM? Bonus: Marlins Man was here when I went.

This is seriously the only bar in town that will remind you that the Blades were once a thing. Even as someone who used to play hockey, I’d mostly define the fun of watching it as people knocking each other around until they fight. Without a local team though, it doesn’t keep bringing me here on a regular basis. It’s the food here that does that. Damn those wings are good! I’ve been trying all sorts of wings here and to say the least they’ll never disappoint you. Those Red Wings with blue cheese make you feel American as possible as you settle your wandering doubts about trying the poutine. Don’t worry, the USA isn’t going to revoke your flag if you take a shot of hot gravy on your freedom fries. Hell I even like the tacos here. Pork Carintas tacos for a dollar on Monday give you a reason to get to the River Market. Let the Tilapia tacos bring you there the rest of the week!

We just came here on a whim since it was close to where we lived and to watch the shockers play Notre Dame. Needless to say we lost but the happy hour was very good. We managed to grab a seat up front and ordered beef nachos, boneless buffalo wings, and the chicken quesadilla. All were excellent and all were just $ 6 each. I was thinking they would be a smaller portion of the normal servings like some places do(ahem Houlihans). I also snagged two boulevard pale ales for $ 3.50 each. The bar had plenty of TVs to watch any of the games and you really can’t get a bad seat in the place. It wasn’t too crowded and there are even TVs outside, for all the smokers who need a break. Would be a good place to gather some friends and watch the game.
