This place takes me back to the old school in a huge way. My Father, who always refered to this place as «Terrific Teresas», used to stop by this place on his way home from work during my childhood and bring home tacos for dinner on occasion. To be completely honest, it had almost completely been nullified from my memory if not for a chance encounter. I was back in KC on business and got off of the highway to take Truman Road to avoid the hellacious traffic jam heading out of downtown at 5PM. I felt lucky that I was still familiar enough with my old stomping ground to be able to navigate back roads when I saw this place and just had to stop for nostalgia’s sake. Even back in the day, I have never actually visited this place in person, only been the frequent recipient of their take out, but after stopping in I can see why my Dad loves the place. Walking in the door made me feel like an unwitting participant in a «Back to the Future» sequel(pictured). I doubt very much this place has changed much in the span of it’s nearly 50 year existence, and that alone I find charming in a strange sort of way. The menu here is that of an old school burger/malt shop, with items ranging from double cheeseburgers, Italian steaks, tater tots, tacos, shakes, etc. It’s the type of grease infused food that the quasi-sophisticated whole foods crowd claims to loathe like a venereal disease, but food they would probably devour in 2 seconds if nobody was looking. The staff here are SUPER friendly, and not in that fake sort of way either. Most of the other diners I saw come in while I was there were greeted by their first names when they went to order. These folks obviously do a fair amount of repeat buiz. Being health conscious, I decided to go with a double cheeseburger with everything, tater tots, and I just had to get a taco too for old times sake(pictured). It was greasy, gooey, messy, and glorious. I was so busy with appointments from work that I had not eaten a thing all day, so my table manners were pretty much at the level of a drunken hobo. The guy sitting at the table directly across from me had a tenderloin sandwich and the tenderloin patty was probably 4 times the size of the bun. Watching him try to eat it provided me with ample meal time entertainment. Places like this one are quickly becoming more and more rare these days, so I am glad I got to relive a pleasant childhood memory and devour some great food. Next time I am in KC on buiz, I am going to grab some tacos to-go and take them to my parents place for dinner. Cliché and needlessly sentimental? Yup, but I am going to do it anyway.

The food is excellent — the burgers and chicken are especially wonderful. It’s good old fashioned, local fast food; and the workers are friendly and fast! :) I’m only subtracting one star for two reasons: — It is slightly overpriced for the amount of food you get. — The sign out front says it’s ‘open late’, but it actually closes at 6:30PM, which is really early for a fast food joint.

This is a solid greasy spoon diner. They make good food at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff and speedy service. They make a very unique chili dog. There is a lot of bun for a single burger so your best bet is to go with the double or triple.

Teresa’s is a great local joint that’s been in the neighborhood for a very long time. Their burgers are good, but the italian tenderloin is really the best thing on the menu here. Their milkshakes are also amazing. This is one of the few places with a drive through that I actually really like, and since it’s close to home, that makes it super convenient. Put simply, Teresa’s is good old fashioned fast food, so don’t expect a tremendous fancy menu here. It’s local fast food done right though, and there’ll always be a place in my belly for that! If you need a great lunch or dinner drive through over in NEKC, give Teresa’s a try; you’ll thank yourself!

Classic greasy American food! In my opinion WAY over priced! I really only like to go here for the crispy tots covered in jalapeño cheddar nacho cheese. totally a fat girl dish! LOL

Teresa’s is an in-expensive hole-in-the-wall with a limited menu — burgers, dogs and grilled sandwiches. The Shakes were great. So was the Italian sausage sandwich. But my wife turned thumbs-down on the breaded Italian steak sandwich. They only have eight tables and most of their business in carry-out. The servers cry-out your charges and payments, so I assume that keeps the cash register accurate.

Stopped in again today with another burger lover and they agreed that the burgers are the best! If you have not stopped by you need to soon! I promised on my next visit to try something else, but that will be hard as good as the burgers are!!! And the staff!!! Oh my gosh!!! Absolutely incredible! Efficient, friendly, service that just does not exist anymore! This place needs to have lines out the doors!
