Atmosphere a solid 5 for kids. Food is barely 3ish. This place is visually really cool. Both the exterior and interior are unlike any restaurant you will go to. From dinosaurs and other prehistoric animatronic animals, to undersea creatures with accompanying sounds and lights, there is a lot to take in. It was a cool experience and I am glad we brought our daughter here for her birthday, but the actual food… meh. First off, expect a wait, and then expect to wait again once seated. Our server was friendly, but way too busy, so don’t expect them to be overly attentive. I had the ‘Predator Platter’ consisting of ribs, chicken, shrimp and waffle fries. It was simply okay, and pretty forgettable. Add in a weak cocktail that tasted okay, and we ended up paying for the atmosphere and not the food. The kids loved it, but for the price, damn you could have had a solid meal somewhere else. Best bet, stop in during the day for a small meal or just to browse the gift shop and grab some good food somewhere else.

Cool place to eat with the kids. Chicken fried chicken was soooooo good. And prices were not that bad for a touristy place like this. I recommend to anyone with kids and the food is good enough for adults alone also.

Let’s start this off saying I was not excited to go to «T-Rex Café», due to my poor previous experiences… So I came with a group of just under 20 people, we had a reservation so that we could get in/out quickly, because we had a school dance to get to. We aren’t ignorant, we knew that a 20 person group would mean a decent sized wait… but here’s out story: We get seated after about 5 – 10 minutes at our tables… even though we had a reservation, we were given separate tables and couldn’t sit with each other. The tables were wiped off(not cleaned) but the floors were filthy. Complete with silverware from the previous meal next to a pile of fries where my feet go! A server tells us there’s is a «meteor shower» display ever 30 minutes with the lights. we place our(overpriced) orders and finally got our food 3 meteor showers later…(that’s 90 minutes). the food was decent, thus the 2 stars, but the cold noodles kind of killed the vibe. At last, 2 hours after arriving, we are all done eating and the server brings out the checks. everyone is sitting across from their date, and nobody has moved. Only half of the tickets are correct, and when we mentioned that our was wrong the waiter suggested we «be nice, and pay for the extra drinks». When we got out corrected tickets and paid, it took over 15 minutes to get our credit cards back. Unfortunately gratuity was mandatory. To add to the wrong checks, one of the couple’s tickets didn’t come out for at least 15 minutes after everyone else had already paid. They didn’t even give us their check, we had to go to the front of the restaurant to ask for our check. The waiter hardly apologized and didn’t offer any reimbursement for the wait. We were in a hurry!!! Hopefully my review was helpful, the service quality here motivated me to download Unilocal, and post my first review!

Arrived at 5:00 pm on a Friday and we were seated right away. Probably not big feat since it was fairly empty. Bottom line, waiter was sloppy looking and slow to serve. The whole thing took 45 minutes from being seated till our food arrived. Again, the place was not crowded at all. Food was decent. Won’t bother coming back.

this place was absolutely horrible. took my little cousin there and I highly recommend not going at all but if you’re going to make the trip anyways AVOIDTHEWEEKEND. Our wait was an hour and a half and after we had our buzzer finally go off, we were soon directed to wait in another line again for a good 15 minutes. we sat down and had a server who didn’t even bring us drinks for 20 minutes and completely forgot about us. When the time came and we did get our food, all I ordered was a cheeseburger and I am currently writing this review from the restroom the next morning because I am so sick. that cheeseburger was 15 dollars and they used Kraft singles cheese and I’m sure the meat was from Walmart. BEWARE because there is nothing on the menu cheaper than 15 dollars u less it’s for children. This was an overall bad experience and I hope nobody else has to suffer what we all did!

Let me be clear, one comes here to make their kids happy. Otherwise, there is no reason to come. It is overpriced for the quality(or lack thereof). The host staff seems disorganized and chaotic. The tables don’t turn over quickly, seems the bus staff likes to take their time. The waiters aren’t very attentive. Overall, I found it wanting. That being said if you ask my 4-year-old it was the best thing ever. I’m sure I’ll have to take her and her brother back at some point and I’ll see if there are any changes to update you.

So, I’ll admit that I’m not at all the target audience for this restaurant, but I had my nephew for the weekend and thought this sounded like a fun place to take him. He was four at the time and immediately after we walked in, he was terrified. The mock rainstorms freaked him out, and so did the moving dinosaurs. We had a decent amount of waiting time for lunch, so I took him over to dig for bones in the sand. It was pricey to get both of us in there, and they don’t even give the kids a plastic shovel. Armed with just a small paint brush he went in there and dusted off two bones before announcing he was bored. For the money I spent, I would say I wish he would’ve stayed longer, but I was bored as well so I was ready to get out of there. When our table was finally ready, I asked that we be seated away from the moving dinosaurs since they scared my nephew so much. The hostess said sure, and then our waitress promptly lead us to a table with a moving T-Rex right over the top of it, even though there were seats available in the seashell area away from the dinosaurs. My nephew was so scared he sat on my lap and placed my neck in what can only be described as the world’s longest and tightest choke hold from a four year old. The menu prices were extremely high, the food was mediocre, and the service was spotty at best. Had my brain been receiving a decent amount of oxygen and if I would not have been in a headlock, we would have just left… and in hindsight, we should have.

Stayed at Great Wolf lodge and decided to venture out for dinner each night. T-Rex looked like a cool place to take the kids for dinner given the dinosaur décor. When we first walked in we were told a hour wait unless we wanted to pay for the vip membership, which would give us priority seating. No thanks, not willing to pay to get seated faster in a causal restaurant. Even more disturbing our wait was only 30 minutes, glad I saved my money. Place inside was really cool, dino’s looked awesome, fire sconces, and decent size indoor water fall. Service was good, waiter was friendly and helpful. Food wasn’t so great, I got the predator platter which consisted of ribs, rotisserie chicken, and fried shrimp. Ribs were the best of the three, shrimp was average, but chicken was a little bloody around the bone, not good. Chicken had potential if cooked properly. My wife got a steak which she said was equivalent of an Applebee’s steak. Kids got corn dogs and pasta with marinara which came with a packaged applesauce. Corn dogs were dried out but pasta was actually good. A little pricey for the food, but I’m sure your paying for the scenery.

Save your money folks. We waited 1hr and 20 min for our food. Contacted the mgr. She said she would find out the problem and let us know. Never saw her again. 130 bucks later we feel screwed.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. I mean, dinosaurs, how can you go wrong? I give one star for the Dinos, and one for my food, which was decent. Having eaten at Rainforest Café and similar places, my expectations were already pretty low. I know it’s ¾ about the atmosphere, and that’s what I expected. I tried the chicken with mornay sauce and shrimp manicotti. The chicken was actually surprisingly yummy. Was served with spinach and a tomato salad… and apparently ½ an entire onion, very slightly sautéed. I picked them out and there was a huge pile on a napkin– yuck. We also had flat-iron steak with tempura shrimp and battered shrimp. The veggies were supposed to be mushroom and green bean, but instead were those dreaded onions again with green beans. Blech. The mashed potatoes were yummy, as was the shrimp. But the«steak» was horrible. My husband tried to downplay it a bit, but told me it was perhaps the worst steak he had ever eaten. Completely bland, way undercooked(asked for med rare), stringy, and pretty gross. He ate a few pieces because he didn’t want to waste it, but couldn’t eat much. However, that could have been excused. What is not excusable is the fact that our waitress, while very nice and friendly, could not have cared one bit about the issues. And worse yet… the manager came by, showed concern, asked if we wanted to order something different, but that’s it. While I appreciate that, waiting 30 mi for a new dish, esp late at night when the kitchen is likely cleaned and done is not the best fix. A percentage should have been deducted from the dish. Certainly not the entire dish, but come on. When you see a customer 1. Picking onions out of their food and 2. Leaves most of their dish, the right thing to do is take care of it. Even offer a free app, dessert, mug, something! So, echoing what others have said– great atmosphere, decent food, ok service. Based upon the actions, or lack there of, of our waitress and manager, we would not likely ever return

First off, this place has the best chicken tenders since the ones Matt Damon personally made me when I saw him at Burning Man. I came for the anthropology, I stayed for the eclectic social crowd! I was wowed at how fun it was to smash a goblet of beer whilst sitting next to a table of six year olds with plush pterodactyl toys. Anyways, the real pleasure was my bartender, Ian. He tended(no pun intended) to my every beck and call with Flash Gordon like speed and Maria Sharpova like grace. His personality was so amazing I almost fell in love. Not to mention his physique which I’m only guessing is because he descends from Greek gods and was born on Mount Olympus. The only reason this got 4⁄5 stars is because the battery in my headlamp mining hat I was given had died. Much love T-Rex Café, and thank you to Ian.

I tried to give this a rating before but I guess I didn’t write enough words and it was posted as a ‘tip’ instead of a review. I took my 4 year old here for lunch… I had a 2 hour window before I had to be somewhere. The place was not really that busy but it still took forever to get seated, another long wait for the waitier ot take drink orders and then a HUGE wait to get our food. It’s only a cheeseburger! It took an hour from the time we ordered our food to get the food. The waiter never came back to see if we needed drink refills. The food wasn’t very good. I ordered the meatloaf and it was very bland. If my son asks to go back again I would take him but I’m secretely hoping he forgets that this place exists because I do not want to go back.

Well well well. After my family bringing me here for a meal and raving about how nice the place is I was excited to try it out. So here was the first problem, they wanted to seat us on the first floor way back in the corner which limited our view of the entire restaurant. We asked for a better table or booth of which there were plenty but she told us there would be a 15 minute wait. Astonished she ended up leading us upstairs to a table that overlooked the restaurant. Once seated we ordered drinks and an appetizer and then our meals. We sat for about 20 – 25 minutes when we noticed the table next to us, who sat 10 minutes after us, with the same amount of people received the same appetizer we ordered but sooner than ours. Soon after the manager came out and said we apologize but we gave your appetizer to the wrong table. Really? Ok so he took that off the bill. About 10 minutes later our food came out, everyone’s but mine until I seen a waiter walking around with a plate back and forth because he didn’t know who it belonged to. He took it back to the kitchen and out merged my waitress with this same plate. I’m very shocked at the disorder of this place especially since it’s a larger restaurant and is frequently busy. They had about 5 managers on staff as well so why all the confusion and mix ups? My cousin who ordered the salmon with a side of veggies and grilled shrimp was disappointed to see that her shrimp never came out with the rest of her food. Her green beans were cold like they only microwaved them for 30 seconds cold. After telling the waitress she said she would send over the manager to make the correction. He took another 15 minutes and offered to pay for her meal as well and pack up some shrimp and salmon for her Togo. Once her food came out the shrimp was still not there! The service was very VERYSLOW. It’s like they put all the recruits on the top floor. The only plus about our experience was my light up cup and colorful dinosaurs. My dish was pretty tasty as well. Order the parm chicken and cannelloni shrimp.

First and foremost I understand that seafood in Kansas will never«Fresh». Especially at a chain restaurant. That being said the food that I had along with my family was some of the worst food I’ve had at a restaurant ever. I had the trio, tempura shrimp, fried shrimp and fish and chips. I wanted to get the full experience. The food was lukewarm, the shrimp was flavorless and there was more batter than fish. It was bad. Very bad. The service was right between good and bad. It took almost an hour for a family of 4 to get there food and it took almost 2 hours for the family next to us to get there’s. The staff was very friendly and attentive and did check on us during the longer than desired wait. Overall it was a below average visit. If it wasn’t for the friendly staff I would give it a 1 star. The cooks however should take some pride in the presentation of the food, just not the taste

This T. REX is NOT like the one in Florida but still fun for the kids. From the time we sat down to order to leaving our time here was approximately 2 ½ hours. They’re painfully slow. Our server was very nice and attentive to our table; however, some food arrived much later than the majority of the dishes. It seemed that was a kitchen or second floor communication issue(we were part of a large party on the second floor). The food is good overall and very overpriced. I would give the gift shop a ten all the way around. The employees are wonderful with kids and have extra patience for them. If you eat at this café on a weekend, I would allot a 3 hour time allowance.

Avoid this place like the bubonic plague. I would have given trex café negative stars but one star is the lowest rating Unilocal will allow. Specifically: Made reservations for 5 pm today, it is now 6:34 and we have yet to receive our meals. The food is WAY overpriced. I will probably be a fossil myself before I get my meal. You’ve read my review; consider yourself warned.

If you like Rainforest Café you will like this! They are sister companies. As expected it is a little pricy, but they have a lot of food options that would please the whole family. I love the atmosphere and the staff is always really nice. When we lived in Florida we used to go quite a bit. Since moving here, this location has the same quality of service and food. It is nice to have a «taste of home». I love their drinks and deserts! I recommend getting a reservation. Even when it doesn’t look busy… they are busy. Once there was a 2 hour wait and it looked like we would just be able to walk-in. Haha We learned our lesson.

Staff is friendly… but the food reminds me a truck stop. Flavor, what flavor. I’m thinking they use reduced for quick sell ingredients… or pre-frozen dishes at outrageous prices!!! If you want to have a drink or stop in for a cool time 5 star, but eating here is suicide 1 Star!
