Went here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Great service and fast but it was totally empty we were the only patrons. Food was flavorful and good so were the margaritas which you must try. We had the Sampler For Two, margaritas, lemonade, and the Fajitas Palicidos. The fajitas were ho-hum more onions and green peppers than shrimp, chorizo, steak, and chicken. I feel like salsa has different tastes like BBQ sauce, and Jaliscos’ salsa was a thicker paste salsa than usual and chunky with no kick but to my liking contained large amounts of cilantro for that flavor. Could have used a second refill of chips and salsa but maybe next time. Try it out!

My wife ordered a chimichanga — the server asked«are you sure?» No, she wasn’t sure, but the server explained that it would be a shame to come here and just get a chimichanga. He made a suggestion and she went for it. It was fantastic. I can honestly say that I have never had a better Mexican meal. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. The server, who I assume was an owner, was rightfully very proud of the family recipes and authenticity of their food. The décor is sparse and not that enticing, but the food was excellent. I recommend this little joint for a great Mexican meal.

Real Jalisco is a strip mall Mexican joint that will surprise you. Yea, it’s more of a joint than a restaurant. It’s certainly not a dive. What’s the difference between a joint and a dive? I may not be sure, but I bet it has something to do with size and cleanliness. Real Jalisco was clean and small. The waiter was friendly with my little boy which always gives me a warm fuzzy. The menu is large, but not unmanageable. They gladly made a cheese only quesadilla for my picky man. I had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The rice was simple a perfectly cooked. The enchiladas were small, open faced, and not swimming is sauce and cheese. They were glorious. You know that overly full feeling you get after eating at some Mexican places? That’s cheese weight. You won’t feel that here. It’s so awesome.

This place was pleasantly surprising for being in a strip mall with not so super outside decoration! We came in on Saturday night, got a little freaked because it was dead but I convinced the BF to stay anyways to check it out. Our server was very nice and aimed to please while we ordered two beers and the queso fundido as an appetizer. It didn’t look like anything pretty but it was DELICIOUS. Sauteed veggies in a flavorful sauce all over melted cheese on a plate served with tortillas. So good, I’m glad we got it! We split the Fajitas Palacios and they were quite good also. Steak, Chicken, Chorizo and Shrimp all mixed into one with peppers and onions. Yum! All in all, this place was pretty good. We kinda drove out of the way in order to find a different Mexican place to try but it was worth it. The only thing that gets it a 4 rather than a 5 was that we split an appetizer and main course and each got two bottles of beer(they don’t have draft) and our total with tip came to close to $ 50. Seemed a little pricy in my opinion for where they’re located. If you’re in the neighborhood, give it a try… we really liked it!

Great Mexican food! It is a perfect mix of mexican flavors with american preferences. The atmospher is also perfect for a date or a quiet and intimate family dinner. Dessert was wonderful also… they put a good spin on fried ice cream… don’t miss that! Their queso stayed hot and runny the whole time making me think they even made that in house.

I have really liked this place in the past. My last two visits I realized things have changed. Inconsistency with food and staffing. My most recent visits they have only had one server and one runner for the entire restaurant. Food has been just«ok». On my visit last night we had the Squash Blossom Quesadilla — no squash to be found. Server just kept saying it was there. Carne Asada tacos, the beef was in chips and dry. No flavor. Friend had a chicken burrito and said it was good. Another had a chicken with verde and mushroom sauce and said it was good. I have also said the tamales were the best ever. Even those were just«ok». A lot of Mesa and very little sauce. Good but not great like it used to be. I think the problems may be that the owner/manager has not been there the last few times. I will give this place one more try. If doesn’t work out I am heading further North back to Ixtapa. * * * three stars over two because I was so crazy about them in the past.

We pick a new mexican place every week around town. This week we went here. Started off with the flamed cheese appetizer, very very good! We shared fajitas as our main course, I was a little disappointed, the menu said sizzling and they came out on a dinner plate with no sizzling. Service a little slow and it wasn’t that busy. When paying the bill the server brought my change back, a ten dollar bill and one dollar bill. Well I’m sorry but you aren’t getting a 10 dollar tip. Please break up my change, I am a very honest tipper. Overall good experience. I will return but will not order fajitas again.

Went to this place with high expectations, which was perhaps off. I would put the ranking at 3.5 stars. The food was good, but I didn’t think it was better than a typical mexican restaurant. Chips were good, but the salsa needed some taste. We had a enchilada combo, taco combo, burrito ranchero, and steak real jalisco. The guacamole that came with one of the dinners was less than half a spoonful. I think I need to go back and try some other dishes.

I am not sure how long this place has been here, but I am embarrassed that it took me so long to try it. If you live near(or frequent) Englewood &169, add it to your list immediately. I had the Tacos Callejeros(steak) which the menu describes as: «Five most delicious tacos you’ve ever had.» Strong words, right? They were correct. These are delicious and possibly the best I have ever had. Give it a try. Definitely not your average strip-mall Mexican joint…

Great food. waitress was awesome. Ran out of water multiple times and seemed a little stingy with the salsa. I will go back. Authentic Mexican.

Simply outstanding. Try the queso fundido. It’s life changing. We prefer it without the chorizo, but it’s good either way. I’ve never had anything bad here, but my favorites are tacos jalisco, mariposa jalisco(steak), and chiles en ogada.

I had a Groupon for this place. I like trying locally-owned restaurants especially when they are up north. We started with the Queso Fundido — Flamed cheese with Mexican sausage topped with a choice of tomatillo or garlic sauce. This is not your typical queso. It was on a salad plate and came with 4 flour tortillas. There was a lot of grease from the sausage and you had to scrape the cheese off the plate, but other than that they were good. The chips that were placed on our table when we first walked in were crisp and fresh and the salsa had the right amount of heat. I don’t like too hot. I decided to be daring and I tried the Enchiladas de Nopalitos — Corn tortillas filled in with cactus. Served with rice and beans. I didn’t know what to expect with cactus. I have to say, I’m a big fan. They have the texture of a green bean but were sweet like a sweet pepper. I would definitely have this again. The rice was fresh and seasoned just right. I wanted black beans but they don’t have those so I got beans that I think the waitress called them special beans. They didn’t look appetizing so I didn’t touch them. I try to eat as vegetarian as I can and the beans did not look like they were vegetarian. My daughter had the Tacos Rancheros — Three soft corn tortillas filled with grilled chicken breast. Served with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. She said they were delicious. My daughter had the refried beans. She didn’t eat them though. We both agreed that the food was really good and we would go again. Nothing like authentic Mexican food that, according to the guy in the booth behind us, hasn’t been Americanized.

We came here because of a Groupon and had a great meal! The service was very friendly and the place was not crowded so our food came out quickly. The margaritas were strong and well priced too. Our surprise favorite of the evening was the appetizer: Quesadillas de Flor de Calabaza which were squash blossoms sautéed in butter and oregano with fresh tomatoes and onions. The presentation on these was kinda awful(same for most of the food, actually), but we ended up nearly licking the plate clean! They have a section of the menu dedicated to vegetarian options and we both really enjoyed our meals, but the winner was the squash blossoms. We wish this place was a bit closer to us, BUT it is worth it to make the drive in the future!

After so many positive reviews I bookmarked this place to try. So off to a nondescript strip mall to give it a try. We walked in at 12:30 and we were the only one in the place, not a good start. Soon though there were five other tables seated. Most appeared to work in the area and meeting co-workers for lunch. The menu is large with a lot of choices that are not your typical tex-mex. We started with Negra Modelo beers and the guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was served in the skin of half the avocado, cute but not practical. We emptied that out onto the plate so we could scoop if up with chips. It was ok. Chips were light and crisp and the salsa was decent. Next for the mains I ordered the Enchiladas De Mole Poblano which was three corn tortillas stuffed with boneless chicken breast topped with a sweet and spicy mexican sauce. The sauce was very interesting, a rich savory mole that was more sweet then heat. My companion ordered the Burrito Chile Colorado with chunks of beef roasted in a light red sauce. The rice and beans were very standard. I found myself needing more heat so we ordered a side of hot salsa to spice things up a bit. I will be back to try again…

I had the Steak Real Jalisco and it was amazing. Hot and Smokey and super Yummy. The service was really good and the waitress was there to refill our drinks and bring us extra flour shells at no charge. Chips were crispy and the salsa was very good. Beans and guac are homemade and yummo. I am surprised this place isn’t busy than it is. It was almost empty in there. As good as the food is it should be packed 24⁄7. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Super clean and large menu. Great Mexican place.

A terrific authentic Mexican restaurant. Cheerful, passionate service, delicious food. If you’ve been to Ixtapa or Guadalajara Café, this is similar food. Not your typical Tex Mex(much better!) Definitely worth a try. The namesake dishes(e.g. Pollo Real Jalisco) are delicious, by the way.
