I should have read the reviews before we went. We were there for Mother’s Day brunch. We were the first seating, right at 10. They ran out of 3 or 4 things within about 10 minutes.(Eggs/hash/biscuits/bacon). We all stood around waiting for them to refill, but finally decided to just come back. They were filled the second time through. The gourmet Belgian waffle station also ran out of waffles. It was a 7 or 8 minute wait. The food combination was just odd. Pot roast, salmon, eggs and bacon. I would think that for that price there would have been some kind of carving station or an omelette station. The food they did have was okay, it just wasn’t worth the money. I would not go back.

Great meal tonight. Wine was great. Crab totts are tasty. Special was Walleye with pecan crust… excellent. Too full to try desert, but I bet they are good too. Nice atmosphere as well.

We came to M&S Grill for lunch and bought the luncheon special! I had the fried seafood platter and JB had the salmon penne pasta and both were average, but the presentation was well presented. We had a stater and or appetizer crab tater tot… the bill was $ 40.72…we drank water!

Extremely small portions, I was really looking forward to more food considering my meal was $ 30 just for me. I’m not sure if they were giving such small portions because they were busy or if that is their regular portion size, but either way that is unacceptable. Their service wasn’t great either, my friends ordered dessert but it took so long that they ended up paying and leaving before it even arrived. Really disappointed.

My husband and I went there for my birthday celebration and it turned out the best. They gave us outdoor patio seating on a nice warm spring day that faces to huge water fountain. Food was fresh and heavenly delicious. We ordered Buffalo chicken tenders and Parmesan Crusted Chicken Pasta. The waitress kept on checking with us if we need something more. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely return!

We were in town visiting relatives and they were raving about this place so we decided to make this a Friday night destination. For a Friday night, it was pretty empty. There were more servers than there were patrons. Our waiter was great, I believed his name was Brandon. He earned the star. When the food came to the table, it was downhill the rest of the night. We ordered three appetizers, they were all sub-par. The pot roast nachos are just heavy and flavorless. We ate them because we were hungry not because they were good. Crab«tots» could have been from the frozen food section at Costco. The red velvet was an okay cake, but it didn’t taste like a traditional red velvet. We ordered the appetizers and were so unimpressed that we didn’t bother with entrees. For the price, I expected more.

Stay away on a holiday. Totally disappointing brunch service; we did not have any drinks, no water, no coffee, nothing after most of our party had been through the brunch line and finished our first plates of food(at least a ½ hour) refills had to be requested repeatedly. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen and you often had to wait several minutes, up to 10 or 15 to have hot food to put on your plate. Many items ran out and were not replaced or some substitution brought in. The deserts available had dwindled to whipped cream and berries, frozen baklava, or doughnuts. The omelette and waffle station usually present for brunch were no where to be found and you will have to wait for a different Sunday to get a bottomless $ 5 mimosa. If you can get any drinks at all.

We came here because we LOVED the M&S Grill near D.C. However, the location in country club plaza was a disappointment overall. The first indication should have been that there was no wait for a table on a Saturday night. PF Changs next door had a one hour wait! The menu didn’t have Prime rib. We were really looking forward to it since that is our favorite dish at the other M&S grill we frequent. They offered Choice cuts… for the prices they charged you’d expect prime. Wife and friend both ordered top sirloin and I had the jumbo scallops. Both steaks were overdone, lacked flavor and had hard gristle. The crab tater tots were ok but nothing to write home about. On an upside, my scallops were very good and I loved the bed of couscous it came on. If you come here, beware the steaks!

M&S Grill is one of my go-to places on the plaza. The seafood is as good as McCormick and Schmicks but cheaper. All of the fish dishes I’ve had here have come out amazing. Very good wine selection too. Service has always been good. Surprised to see so many negative reactions because everything has been on point for me every visit. I’ve only eaten dinner here though. I absolutely recommend this place and will continue to visit!

Sitting at the table as I type this. Party of 10, half the entrees came out on time, 3 more 10 min later, my filet 10 min later(lukewarm at best, but tasted ok) and then the last entrée(Parmesan chicken, pretty simple) was put in wrong by the waiter and took another 20 min. Manager didn’t seem to care much and only offered to comp that entrée, even though most of the food was subpar and/or cold/late. Horrible. Last of three subpar meals(at best) I’ll ever eat here. Way better to be had elsewhere. And then our bill was wrong at the end of the night. Pathetic. Update: later that night, my wife threw up her dinner. She was the only one to order what she did, and while we can’t say for sure it was food poisoning, it certainly wasn’t stomach flu from the symptoms she had.

Probably one of the worst meals I have in my life, this is similar to a golden coral type of steak with side dishes that would be on par with a Denny’s In the past I have had several experiences at this restaurant that had been amazing. Birthdays, my parents wedding anniversary, a friends going away party, however after not dining here for a few years one could wonder what happened, as my found memories of this«dump» have changed after my today on thanksgiving experience. 1. Cold fatty steak $ 38 yeah it was served ice cold with strip fat! 2. Cold, instant from a box side dishes $ 18 yuck! 3. Slow service, because my actual server was awesome but over loaded with tables poor guy, FREE My advice, don’t go here and with some luck, much like the other M&S grills this one will close soon and hopefully turn into a much better restaurant. Trust me me, it’s not worth it, SHUTITDOWN!

Simply disappointed. Nothing special to say… and that’s the problem. Food is a bit expensive for it is, service is correct but no more, for the price it’s a pity… atmosphere is awful, kind of big canteen and food so-so… again nothing crazy. As a «so-so» experience but due to the location and what you can expect when going to that kind of place… i’d say no, thanks. Done.

This place used to be awesome but I am guessing they are under new ownership because the menu has really gone down hill. They used to have a great bar menu that would make it a great stop between an early dinner and the clubs but not anymore. The last time we went the food was wholly forgettable. The only saving grace is its still the same staff from before the changes, and those people are awesome.

I was debating between a 2 and 3 star review. I would have given 3 stars on my food alone, but the hubby’s food would get a 1 star. The drinks were a 2 star. Okay I ordered the Salmon Burger and it was fabulous. The fries were a little under done. Hubby had the Kobi burger and it was charcoal burnt on one side and raw on the other. How do you do this let alone serve it? My drink was great, but I love Ecco Domani and Hubby at a rum and coke and it was weak. Service kind of sucked. Our waiter didn’t really seem to care much about us, didn’t refill waters and took forever to get our check. The atmosphere is odd to say the least. The décor is creepy ass horse picture everywhere that could give people nightmares. Seriously frightening watercolors of horses. The crowd was a laid back crowd and there were a bunch of high school prom kids there that were entertaining to watch order. I doubt I would ever go back.

Today for lunch, Hubby, Sis and I were looking for someplace we had never eaten before down on the Plaza and settled on M & S Grill which overlooks the lovely fountain at the eastern edge of the area. We were given a perfect booth right by the window and had a really nice lunch with excellent, friendly service. I found lots of tempting entrée choices on the large lunch menu and finally decided on Idaho Rainbow Trout, simply grilled, flavorful Basmati Rice and lovely Sautéed Spinach. It was all delicious and I sent my plate back«clean as a whistle» except for the trout tail. Hubby ordered Crusted & Pan Seared Chicken Romano with capers that was served alongside Linguine Alfredo. He is harder to impress than I am and he had nothing but rave reviews for his meal, liking everything on his plate. Sis, who has been to many places back East where the crab cakes are«the best», decided to see how well M & S Grill could live up to the best, so she ordered a Crab Cake Sandwich with a side of Butter & Cream Mashed Potatoes(in place of the french fries). She felt that M & S Crab Cakes can compete favorably with those she has eaten in the past — but NOTHING is as good as the real thing and even our sweet server, who is originally from the East Coast had to agree. When Sis asked if she could substitute something else for French Fries, our server said her favorite was the Mashed Potatoes and they were, indeed, yummy. Overall, M & S Grill suited us very well for lunch and the tasty food, combined with the excellent service and understated elegance of the dining space guarantees we will visit them again.

I scanned a few reviews before writing this because I always feel so crappy giving 2 stars, but it seems that many people have experienced exactly what I did last week. M & S Grill has gone downhill… rapidly. My husband and I used to go here when we were looking for a solid«4 star» meal but we won’t be going any more. They changed the menu and took many items off that were yummy favorites. Nothing looked great on the menu and nothing we ordered was great. Sidenote, I have no problem paying extra for great service, organic and local ingredients, or a really nice glass of wine but for some reason when I pay more(and more) at M & S Grill, I feel like I’m just trying to help pay their Plaza rent. It’s good that there are plenty of other solid«4 star» places, we will go to one of those next time we have lunch.

This is a total bummer of a review to write. I have been coming to M&S Grill for brunch for probably a year or two. We originally visited to try something different from our usual haunts and were blown away by two different factors: Our awesome, attentive and funny waiter and $ 5 all-you-can-drink mimosas. Both are now gone. Let’s just get it over with and talk about the booze. $ 5 all you can drink anything is a ridiculous deal, and I was shocked to see it even existed in the first place. The only time I’ve ever seen $ 5 all you can drink is at seedy gay bars and it’s for Miller Light, not champagne(even if it is bottom shelf bubbly). It was too good to be true, and frankly was what kept us coming back. –The food was average. That’s okay, it’s all-you-can-drink mimosas –Atmosphere is odd. that’s okay, it’s all-you-can-drink mimosas –The service sucks. That’s okay, it’s all-you-can-drink mimosas Now they are gone, and now the rest of the faults are under a spotlight. The food isn’t bad, that’s for sure, but I’ve had better at for the same price point. If you DO want to come here, some of the standouts for me are the cold tortellini salad, the poached eggs on hash, the salmon, and the green beans. Other stuff is certainly good, but nothing blows my mind. The scrambled eggs are gross. The atmosphere is just off. I have a feeling this place is served better by a nighttime atmosphere. It’s just too open and bright and seems like a banquet room in a hotel. Ugly horse paintings. Bad music. Whatever. The service? It’s dropped off hard. On today’s visit it was most definitely not busy, and two separate stations were completely out of plates. Our server, who I think was a distant cousin of McLovin, just wasn’t on his game either. Empty beverages for most of the meal. I didn’t much enjoy only having the opportunity to have two little teacups full of coffee over the course of my brunch, especially when I learned that coffee was also no longer included in the brunch. ** I will say that in terms of service that waffle-station lady was awesome** So maybe today’s experience was a fluke, I don’t know. But the bottom-line is that for the same price I can go to a vastly superior Sunday brunch buffet, one that is superior for reasons that more seasoned service wouldn’t fix. Why would I go back? Answer: I won’t.

All around very decent food… Started off w/Fried Calamari w/spicy marinara. Creative I know! They actually impressed me w/them dicing up banana peppers in w/the breading so every once in a while you would get a nice lil addiditive of flavor. Entrée was delish! Scallops w/mushroom risotto and asaparagus… Scallops were perfectly cooked as medium rare. Still had that nice chew back texture. Risotto dead creamy and again perfectly cooked. Though I must say for $ 26 bucks, even though I was eating on the company’s dime, I think the portion size was just a tad under. Would I order again of course bc I may be skinny but I LOVE to stuff this my fat butt! :) To top of the meal just bc I couldnt leave after that… Steak and seafood has my favorite dessert! Dont know why they are serving Tres Leches but ok non latin restaurant decided to just wing it. Glad I did! It was fantastic! Would’ve never guessed either. Milky smooth cake just the way I expected it! Toasted coconut on top for a light crunchy texture.

This was my second dining experience. Overall we had enjoyable experience with tasty food and a friendly server. We called on our way and the hostess was kind enough to put our names on the list, which was awesome because the wait was an hour(on 7pm on a Friday). We shopped a bit then made it over to restaurant, checked and were seated promptly. This is a good place to go to please a crowd as they do have seafood, steaks, pork, chicken and pasta. I went with the stuffed salmon stuffed with crab and brie cheese. My husband got a sirloin steak. My fish was cooked perfectly, however the brie sauce was a bit overpowering and drowned out the fish and crab flavors. Still good though, just not the best fish dish I’ve had. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, tender and had great flavor. He really enjoyed it. During our first we finished our meal with the upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. If you like apple pie you gotta try this. It’s awesome. So during this visit we just had to order it again and it didn’t disappoint. YUM! *TIP* — if make a reservation and are celebrating an anniversary, birthday or something special then tell them and they will print you a special menu. We had ours say«Happy Birthday Mom» for my mother in law on our first visit here. She thought that was pretty cool. Oh and they gave her a free birthday dessert.
