We went there for lunch last Friday and the place was jumpin’. Nearly every table and most of the counter in the front room was filled with customers when we pulled open the front door about 1 p.m. More people came in after us and none were turned away so they must have been sitting in the ‘back’ room. Hubby ordered a Double Cheese Burger and I got a Patty Melt and we shared the order of onion rings that came with my sandwich. I watched the waitress carry two Giant Tenderloins to the table across the aisle and the yummy breaded pork hung out 2−3″ all around the large buns. Those folks ended up eating most of their tenderloins with a knife and fork. My Patty Melt was loaded with wonderful caramelized fried onions and I had to watch out for dripping juices and cheese while eating. It was grilled with a good, greasy finish on the grilled bread, JUSTTHEWAY I LIKEIT! I had to lean way over my plate to keep the drips off my lap and clothes. I hope the Leed’s Diner stays open until long, long after I am gone(and my plan is to live a bunch more years)…But for now, THELEED’S DINERISNOTCLOSED! And if you have never made a visit, just know that Leed’s Diner is a real old-fashioned diner with nice friendly people and lots of loyal customers. If you like that kind of thing, get yourself on over for your favorite diner food, done right. They close at 2 p.m. and are open Monday through Friday. OH, and BRINGCASH, ’cause they don’t take cards.

Out of the way in a blue collar working area but it is very nice. I liked the wait staff, cashier, customers were friendly. The food was as expected, diner fare. The eggs, toast and pancakes were very good. I liked the hash browns because they were shredded but needed something to put them over the top, perhaps add onions or some flavor to them because they were a little bland. The coffee was basic, not special.

We are traveling and love to try local joints. Thank you everyone for you reviews, they were spot on. This diner is great! Our breakfast was very satisfying. Omelettes were delicious and highly recommend hash browns with onions and cheese and the blueberry toast. My husband had a pork chop breakfast and it was an inch thick and perfectly cooked with a caramelized crust and juicy tender inside. — The waitress was very sweet and efficient.

Great cooking and friendly atmosphere. Appears to be family owned and operated. Typical diner food with the best tenderloins I have had recently for lunch. Staff is very friendly and new patrons are not the typical customer.

If you’re in KC, you can’t miss Leeds. We were visiting family, and came by every morning for breakfast. Everything we had was great, French toast, home fries, hash browns, eggs over easy, everything was delicious! Not only is the food great, the people are friendly as well, by day 2 they all knew us and wished us well on our travels the morning we left. If I’m ever back in KC I will stop in and say hi at Leeds.

Fantastic, out of the way diner. Has a very old-timey diner feel and the food/service are terrific! As mentioned in a previous review, the pancakes are plate-sized and delicious. The B&G are also fantastic!

Get the«Everything» breakfast burrito and add jalapeños with the tortilla on the side! Killer. Jane is a super friendly server. This is the kind of place that I’ll go out of the way for for breakfast.

Great, unique experience in a world of chain restaurants. The drive there might scare you. It’s in an industrial area. Inside looks like 1969. Good old diner food. Friendly service.

I love this little diner. Great atmosphere, food and service! It feels like you aren’t in KC when you are there. Maybe at a diner back in the 50s or so. So fun! I love that a place like this still exists! I hope it stays around for many more years to come!

Ran across this place on a wandering motorcycle ride and had to give it a shot. When you see a small diner all by itself, I’ve found, it can go one of two ways. Very underwhelming or amazing. I’m happy to say Leed’s is amazing. My friend got the open faced roast beef and I got a bacon cheeseburger. The burger was fantastic. Thick crispy bacon on a juicy patty. My friend loved the special and finished it off with a slice of pie. Great service, friendly staff, and unsweetened iced tea. My only complaint, and it’s a very limited one, was that the fries were just so-so. Nothing to write home about. But the rest of the sides were great. Give this place a shot. It’s been said before, but just to make sure you know. Cash only.

We love the Leed’s Diner. What’s not to love about it? The food is delicious, the restaurant is clean, and Joy(the waitress) learns your name by your second or third visit. She is lovely and friendly and attentive. I go with a group of friends to the Leed’s Diner every Tuesday morning before we go to Harvester’s, and it’s a tradition we’ve grown to love. Joy takes good care of us, and we’re fueled and happy and ready for the day. If I could have one wish, it would be that they accepted credit cards. Remembering to get cash ahead of time can be a pain… Really — give it a try!

SHAZAAM! Talk about a hidden gem! I’d actually driven past Leed’s Diner a couple of times, while on stadium drive looking at trains. Yes Unilocalers, I’m a «foamer» — someone who gets so excited about trains, I foam at the mouth. Don’t judge me! I guarantee, however, you’ll foam at the mouth when you dine at Leed’s. It’s the epitome of coziness, warmth and most importantly, great food! The husband & I decided to check it out for breakfast recently, as God forbid there be a greasy spoon which doesn’t have our stamp of approval! Tucked away on Stadium Drive just west of Manchester Traffic way and just a smidge west of the RR tracks, Leed’s doesn’t look like much from the outside. But don’t let appearances fool you! Once you enter, the diner is very clean and the staff greets you very warmly. There were others there whom obviously visit the diner often as they were on a first name basis with the staff. The fare was the standard breakfast fare — omelettes, B&G, flap jacks, etc. However my friends, the good folks at Leed’s know how to freaking cook!!! Jesus, I’m drooling just thinking about it! We both ordered omelletes, taters & pancakes. The ingredients in the omellete were actually sauteed BEFORE the eggs were added! It was Ah-May-Zeeng! Cooked the way an omellete should be cooked.(I just realized I’ve spelled omelette about 87 different ways. Again, don’t judge me!) The pancakes were just as fantastic. They hovered over the plate and had perfect flavor! And speaking of flavor, their bacon will make you slap yo’ mamma. You’ve been warned. Leed’s is open Monday — Friday, serving breakfast & lunch during those hours. I fully intend to take advantage of the entire menu before it’s over. Great, amazing food and the purr of trains in the background. It just don’t get any better.(Yes, I intended to type«don’t). One last thing. Leed’s only accepts cash. But trust me, you won’t need much! Enjoy!

Seriously out of the way… seriously down-home cooking… seriously huge portions. This is the kind of place that you’ll see the waitress serve coffee in mis-matched mugs to a group of regulars, a bunch of old boys that have commandeered the big table by the window, and calling them all by name & asking about their grandkids. The atmosphere is working-class(the clientele is primarily composed of workers at the nearby dairy & trucking companies) and they’re not open on evenings or weekends. The breakfast is awesome.

I was introduced to this place by a friend, and although it’s about a 15 mile drive from north of the river I still manage to make it about one a week for breakfast. Best Bacon in KC that I’m aware of. Great pork chop too. Fantastic sourdough toast, and a great wait staff. Very friendly people work there. I haven’t eaten anything there but breakfast but I’ve heard stories about their tenderloin that bode good things(If I can ever get past that thick cut bacon) ;^) The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because it can be a little slow to get your food and I’ve heard their potatoes and gravy leave a little to be desired.

Leed’s Diner is a comforting spot for me, and many other regulars, in a lost pocket of town. Leeds is an area ripe with history and you really feel it when you walk into this family operated diner in one of the old storefronts. You can choose counter seating, but even in a booth, you’re in on the lunch action of regulars chatting with the staff. Smiles and comfort food abound, with reasonable daily specials and pie! Whether it’s an open faced hot beef sandwich(where else on earth but Grandma’s do you get that nowadays) or the very popular tenderloin sandwich(there’s something in that breading that is heavenly) the food is always good. It is truly a diner. Love. Oh! One last note, if you go, it’s cash only… would you expect anything different?
