Good food, HORRIBLE music! Surely something can be found that appeals to most! Rainbow salad with all fresh veggies, great dressing. Nachos with fresh, creamy guacamole.

Wether you’re vegan or not this place is phenomenal! I live in San Francisco where delicious vegan food is abundant and this place is up there with the best I’ve ever had! We got the jackfruit Ruben, rainbow salad, and the garlic shroom Mac & cheese. Yuuuuum! You have to get dessert. We were stuffed but decided to get the banana caramel parfait with cashew ice cream. The caramel sauce is their homemade«superfood caramel» and oh em gee I fell in love! Whatever dessert you choose make sure it includes that sauce because it will be the best thing you’ve ever tasted! Thank you Füd for helping people practice sustainable eating by making amazing food that everyone will enjoy!

Just not my cup of tea in any way. Over-priced and mediocre. It’s fun to come once for the novelty of trying faux meat dishes, but as someone who never really liked meat much, I’m not big on faux meat. Some of the dishes are downright gross and others are fairly tasty. My $ 11 milkshake was more like a slushy which was quite a disappointment. I’ll stick with Mud Pie for my vegan treats. I think it’s great that their is a vegan restaurant in KC but it just doesn’t do deliciousness as well as it could.

This is my new favorite vegan restaurant. The food is amazing. My favorite dishes are the Mac & Trees and the Fried Pickles. The nachos are also delicious, you really can’t tell the difference between these vegan nachos and nachos at a regular Mexican restaurant. My service last time, however, was not great. My mom and I went on Valentine’s Day for brunch. They had one server working and what seemed like a server assistant. The server seemed very over– worked and she was slightly rude to my mom, which is NOT okay. We each ordered an entrée and each ordered a separate side dish. When the meal came, the server brought only 3 plates, not including my mom’s side of potatoes. She then walked away to take another table’s order. My mom waved her down and mentioned the potatoes. The server, sounding stressed and irritable, told my mom she«just hadn’t gotten to them yet.» She could have told us when she brought the first round of plates that she would be right back with the potatoes. I am a server myself, and when I don’t have everything with me that the table needs, I inform them that I will be back with the rest right away. She then brought the potatoes, sat them down, and in a very sarcastic and rude tone, said«your patience is appreciated.» I was pretty unhappy that she spoke to my mom that way, but I didn’t say anything. I’m sure she was just having a bad day. However, usually the staff is really friendly and the food is always great. With this being one of the only vegan restaurants in the city, I will be back.

I came here three times over a couple of years before deciding to write a review. Each time it was because I needed to take a business client to lunch and they were vegetarian. Disclaimer: I am not, but have been many years ago and although I’m a die hard meat lover, I’m also someone that cooks alot and often sticks with vegetarian fare. In this case after so many reviews what I have to offer is I think the average rating here is spot on at 4 stars. We came around 12:30 and the place was packed. Service was actually very good, something I hadn’t experienced one other time here and our waitress was very pleasant and enjoyable. The food was quite good today. A friend had one of their many drinks and a Kale salad. I had the brown rice with avocado and it was very satisfying. Our two business acquaintances who are hard core vegetarians loved the meal and the general vibe. They were particularly impressed with their use of the jack fruit, something they hadn’t experienced in California. Nice to know there’s a place with a long-term residence and a good reputation when I need to take a client out for lunch. They were impressed. If you come: cash only! No credit cards. Price: about right for the quality to my mind.

I’ve been waiting to try this place for about two years. It’s cash only, and I never carry cash and hate ATMs, so I’ve just never made it for a meal. Today I am saddened to learn of the delicious meals I could have been eating over the past couple years. This place is incredible. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked amazing and the menu was so full of things I wanted to eat that I could barely choose my meal. The biscuits and gravy were amazing and the two hashes my wife and I got were unbelievably flavorful and filling, despite being mostly vegetables. The cashew ice cream doesn’t even make sense to me – how is it so good without having any milk in it?!

Great Food! We had the nachitos, bbq sand, and Ruben. That being said it took forever to get our water and the employees were talking crap about our service dogs in training. A server came up and told us to leave. I told her our dogs are protected by MO Statute 209.150. She told me to prove it. I snapped at her saying we didn’t need certifications. She said why. I said MO209.150! So they don’t understand ADA laws. Other than that… p good.

I visited Kansas City last year and I had to go to Fud after all I had heard. It’s tucked away in an area you wouldn’t really expect to find a restaurant. But it fits with the hipster vibe of the business and the surrounded businesses. The restaurant is awesome. I really liked it. Again, very hipster vibe. The food was excellent. I know we ordered a ton and loved all of it. And in true hipster fashion, they don’t take debit/credit cards(or at least didn’t at the time). So bring cash. But they take out-of-town checks, which makes very little sense. If we go back to Kansas City, I’d go again for sure.

I’ve had a couple of good experiences at Fud, and a couple of blah experiences. They don’t take credit cards which is inconvenient, and they always seem to run out of certain menu items each time I go. The service is a bit slow and I’ve seen them mess up orders a few times, including mine once. But having said all that, when they do get it right, they get it really right. Delicious, wholesome vegan food and cashew shakes — and everyone is friendly too. The colorful vibe inside makes the experience even brighter. You can also purchase sandwiches and mac & cheese from Fud at Mud Pie Vegan Bakery, and they are fantastic. KC doesn’t have dozens of vegan restaurants, so I cherish the ones we do have — give it a try!

I was super bummed when we stopped in on Sunday only to find out they only serve brunch on the weekends, but decided to stay and try a few things. I ordered the biscuits and gravy(1 for $ 5), with a side of cottage potatoes($ 4), and my son had the banana pancakes short stack(3 for $ 8). The Biscuits and Gravy were tasty, albeit on the small side. The Potatoes were just ok, no flavor at all and tasted more of oil than anything. My son told me the pancakes were almost a bit too sugary, but overall tasty. I will be returning during the work week to see what other treats I may find.(Side note, I love the fact that my son can eat anything on the menu!)

I am not a vegetarian or vegan, but I do eat here at least once a week. The food is delicious, healthy and locally sourced. I always feel wonderful after eating at Fud. The menu changes quite often and the prices make the food an excellent value. Their breakfast menu is fantastic and they offer gluten-free pancakes! This establishment maintains a gluten-free fryer for those of us with allergies, so feel free to become addicted to their jalapeño fritters or portobello fries. However, for my money… nothing beats the nachos at Fud.

Delicious!!! It’s only been a few hours and I want to eat here again. We ordered the nachos, Tex mex plate and enchiladas with the mushroom + wild rice filling. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. I’d definitely recommend eating here. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because of cleanliness, service and atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, it’s overall great, but the place is small, somewhat cramped and even on a Tuesday afternoon we had a hard time getting a table. I can’t imagine would it’d be like if it was during typical rush hour. Vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters will find satisfying dishes here. Next time I want to try the homemade cashew ice cream!

I live in Southern California and I’m in KC visiting family. This place is AMAZING! I haven’t had vegan food this good in SoCal and that is definitely saying something! Come for the delicious cashew ice cream, jackfruit enchilada, and out-of-this-world nachos!

Visiting town for the day and this place was recommended by someone… Really disappointed in the quality of the food, especially for the price. It was okay, but I would not come back. The tofu was burnt and rubbery, I immediately had to spit it out. The service was whatever. No one was really too friendly, but that doesn’t bother me too much. If I had come here with no expectations and nothing to compare vegan food to, then I probably would have enjoyed it, but I’ve definitely had better. I find it hard to believe that this place gets as busy as I’ve heard.

I’m so sad that others have had a bad experience with FUD, because I’m in love! A few friends and I went out on a Wednesday evening, so they weren’t busy and had room for us few to sit down. The space is pretty cozy, being only about 12 tables. Our server was very kind, and did a nice job at accommodating for our meals and such. I had half of the jackfruit BBQ(yum!) and the mac-and-trees(double yum!!) and really enjoyed every bite. My friends and I did split a few desserts, which I later regretted due to the sugar levels, but they were very delicious! I think FUD is a perfect restaurant for this little area in Kansas City, and would definitely go back. Great for vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free, but also great for people who just like tasty food!

Cute location, clean, friendly staff with good quality food that is actually healthy. All I ordered was nachos and ice cream which were both excellent thus I will have to go back and try some other menu items.

My best friend, who is vegetarian, came to town from Oklahoma so I always look forward to finding a new spot she hasn’t yet tried. We popped in on a Saturday morning as a group of four. More than likely, I will probably never return. The service needs major improvement. Initially after placing our orders, we sat for well over half an hour waiting for any type of food to arrive. We ordered two sets of appetizers – only to receive one at first. Who knows, maybe tofu takes longer than mushrooms? *no sarcasm intended* Once entrees arrived we reminded our server of the missing app. It arrived after we all were midway thru our entrees. The fluoride free water refills are few and far between. Generally speaking, the two servers looked miserable and your staff can really make or break a place. My breakfast Mac was nothing to write home about and I feel like maybe I should have opted for the most basic Mac so I could get more of a picture of the vegan mac ‘n cheeze they’re dressing up in all the options they have. The consistency was pretty hectic with tofu as an overwhelming ingredient(ie quantity wise). The tofu nuggs were the highlight of the meal for the boyfriend. The space itself is cute and I wanted to love it, but I just couldn’t. Definitely not how I wanted to spend a Saturday morning.

I consider myself«meat-light”/vegetarian friendly. When a friend suggested this place for a Saturday afternoon late lunch, I thought, «Why have I not tried this place yet?» So, we went! I love macaroni and cheese and their«Mac n’ Trees» did not disappoint. Creamy, cheesy. Tender noodles and broccoli. I also enjoyed my «Avowich». Lots of good flavors and textures with all those veggies in one sandwich. It’s a small place with tight aisles so keep in mind if you prefer more space and less intimacy. Also, my friend told me they don’t accept credit cards. I didn’t verify, I just paid in cash. The place was a little on the warm side, which is ok for me because most of the time I’m very cold in arctic AC cooled restaurants. Not freezing a restaurant is much more eco friendly, but some people might get warm. Looking forward to going back with the meat eating hubs.

I read the reviews and decided to try this cozy little vegan spot on my recent solo trip to Kansas City. The menu is huge, and in fact so much so that it’s a bit overwhelming. I opted for a lemon ginger fizz, a jack reuben, and a tiger milkshake for dessert. The lemon ginger fizz was delicious and refreshing. The jack reuben is their take on the reuben, made with jackfruit(which I’ve never tried before). It was OK, I’ve had one made with seiten that I liked better. I think my main problem was that it was super salty. I’m not sure if I just got an extra salty batch or if that’s how it normally tastes, but it was definitely way too much. It also needed more sauerkraut. The thousand island type sauce was delicious though. The tiger milkshake made all my problems go away. It was like a little cup of awesome. I’ve never tried vegan ice cream before and I was completely blown away. I want more of them, but alas they’re 4 hours away(probably better for my waistline though). My recommendation, skip the jack reuben and go straight for dessert!

This one is tough because I love vegan, local spots and especially deep fried foods. However, everything felt dirty and way too cramped inside. I was forced to sit outside… wait for it… in the rain! They have 2 tables outside and when it started raining, the waitress — who is basically nonexistent except to take order after about 15 mins — said she would see if we could ’ stand ’ inside and I politely declined and asked for to go boxes ASAP. It’s really pricey($ 30 for 2 apps and a half sandwich) for the portion sizes. The food is extremely saturated in oil/grease. The appetizers I ordered came out sitting in pools of oil which takes away from the whole idea of making them fried and crispy. I was a tourist driving through and wanted to enjoy some local vibes. Honestly I probably wouldn’t return but if I did, I definitely would try a vegan milkshake!

I am in love. Everything was perfect. It’s a quaint little space with a kick. The Reuben was greasy spoon goodness. The service was prompt and helpful. Tony got the spicy hash from their brunch menu. He didn’t let me have a bite it was so good! The bathroom was clean and the tables were cleaned promptly. At the end of the meal we talked ourselves into Sharing a caramel shake. Thank goodness we did. Cashew milk makes for some damn good ice cream. Fatty, rich, tasty! They also had an agave caramel swirled on the cup. It’s the special touch that brings people back. What an experience at Füd!
