Old men, old times, old barber antiques, and hair about the floor of Larry’s and Gil’s barber shop, Blue Vue Barber Shop.(Sorry, no –picture, it wasn’t appropriate, so I’ll have to go back.) This is the barber shop that old men are all about, not only old men, but boys and men my age. There are 3 chairs. I think they are getting new chairs, but these might be the chairs that they had when I bought the Other R, who is 21, in when he was, uh, 5, for a few hair cuts. This barber shop has been around for years. I think t’s older than I am. It always has men waiting to get their hair cut. This business thrives, so they are doing something correct. Nothing fancy here. No frills, just basic hair and shaves. They have 8 metal chairs to sit while you wait. But it’s the old time cash register(antique, and still used) that seals the deal. There’s a third barber chair, and a bookcase with a few scattered paperbacks. This is in an area, near a beauty salon, and a conceal and carry business(Which is needed, here in Independence, as much as a barber shop is). They take walk in’s. The barbers are consistent and friendly. Consistent, friendly, and dependable hair cut, isn’t that what men need?
