Awesome service. I had Jackie cut my hair and she did a great job with a ton of attention to detail. She wasn’t there to get me in and out– she genuinely took the time to make sure she didn’t miss a thing. True perfectionist. I cannot tell you how much I’d recommend this place over a chain like Great Clips. Very fair price at $ 20 before tip

Deana is by far the BEST Stylist ever. Love my hair after she cuts or colors it. Absolutely AMAZING!

Go somewhere else! I asked for a tapered cut and the stylist didn’t know what it was…

Do not get your hair cut here… unless you want to wear a hat for the next month. I am 27 and comb my hair over so I have a good amount of hair. They are old and only know how to cut your hair like you’re in the military. I tell the guy a quarter inch off the top and he damn near buzzes all my hair off. I had also asked for him to re cut back in my part which was clearly already cut in from past barbers. He decided to not follow that line but make his own right next to the previous line. He put an inch wide gash down the side of my head. SO, now I have a huge patch of hair stuck between two parts and there is nothing I can do. The guy told me he had cut hair for 50 years but i would guess he came in off the street and grabbed a pair of clippers. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

In Kansas City for a visit, left Upstate New York without getting a haircut. I was staying on the plaza but the couple of hair places there seem to be way too upscale for a mostly bald guy like me. I was just looking for a clipped close/​military haircut and a shave. I found both at Barbers of Westport. The barber (closest guy to the door on the left) made sure that not a stray hair was left behind. He offered to shave my head but I declined since I like a little shadow up there. He did do the hot lather and straight razor around my neck line. I then asked if he could shave my face and he promptly did so with a clean, comfortable shave. Reclined chair, lots of hot towels and hot lather, a close but very comfortable shave and then a face massage with some mentholated cream. The barber is super good natured. I feel like a million bucks. I’m happy I found this little place in KCMO and I’ll be stopping by again the next time I’m in town. Highly recommended.

Would 100% recommend Deana to anyone. She has flexible hours in the evenings, is super friendly, and always gives great haircuts!

Deana’s great! I got in late to KC for a conference, was starving and needed a haircut before the next morning. She was amazingly open at 7pm, gave me a perfect cut and showed me the best BBQ joint in town. I may just have to wait for my next trip to KC to get another haircut…

The whole reason I went to this barber shop was for Joe. He is now located at Endicott Barber and Salon on Westport Road. When I found out he no longer had a chair at Barbers of Westport, they would not tell me where he had gone, something that I found very unprofessional, as any good shop should respect a long standing relationship with your barber.

Chatty lady hairdresser which was nice but on the haircuts, nothing special. The décor and atmosphere is nothing special either, rather standard.

Joe is the best! He’s super friendly, knows what he is doing, and always keeps an appointment. The guys here are all cool and very inviting for anyone looking for a good cut and chatter.

I started going to the shop after my stylist, Deanna, moved her clients there. As a retired stylist, I always watch the others work while Deanna works her magic on my hair and these guys have some mad skills! The last time I was in, I watched one of them give a perfect flat top haircut while talking sports and kidding around with everyone in the place. I was amazed. These guys are second best only to Deanna and I would have no problem going to one of them if something happened to her.

No stars if I could. My husband went to Barbers of Westport earlier today for a simple cut. He asked them for a number two trim on the sides, not too high, and just a little off the top. The guy immediately buzzed way too high. My husband said something about it and the guy said he could try to fix it. First of all, you can’t fix it if you cut too much. Secondly, he missed several spots, so there are little tufts of hair where they shouldn’t be. My husband was so upset and even more so when he came home and I told him what the back looked like. I guess that’s what $ 20 gets you these days.

Went down to Westport to check out the scene and saw this shop pop up on Unilocal.Friday at 5:30 and they close at 6 and I really needed a cut before my meeting the next day so I dropped in. Lucked out and got Deana. Great cut and good people. Also, found out she usually works late so it might be worth a call if your schedule so dictates. A little hard to find tucked away in a nondescript strip of stores.

I went to this shop yesterday. The shop offers both barbers and stylists. Although I was expecting a barber, the cut was good. A little disappointed I couldn’t get a shave at that time but I would suggest it to someone looking for an affordable cut. I would also suggest they specify between barber and beautician. Overall good experience.

Very professional and excellent service. Did not miss a hair, shave included in those hard to see places. My barber Joe was detail oriented and cut my hair exactly the way I like. Pleasant conversation and the comedy channel on the big screen makes this my haircut spot in Westport 64 111 Thank you for trying to make me look better, I understand the challenge. Tim

great barber shop, you walk right in and can immediately tell that these are the people who know what they are doing. Any barber shop that is run by a bunch of people in their 50’s and 60’s has to have been doing this for a long time and it definitely shows. Not only will they give you a great haircut, but they are friendly and will try to strike up a conversation about anything.
The price seems to be about the same as what I have paid in the past and I will definitely be going back there.

Gents, looking for an authentic barber shop? Here it is. My first experience at Barbers of Westport was good, but wanted to wait and Unilocal after a second visit. Joe does a great job keeping the conversation going and constantly calling you by name between pitches — the Royals game seems to always be on. This is a guys place. Sports talk; sports magazines; great conversation about family and friends and plenty of smack. Oh… the hair cut is great. Joe just sort of looks at ya and dives right in. He said, «Get in the chair. You look like Bob Seger’s brother.» Starts with the scissors, moves to the clippers and ends with a straight-​edge razor around the ears and neck. Everyone needs a little stability and consistency in their lives. This is mine. Good to meet ya Joe. I’ll be back every few weeks.
