The atmosphere can’t be beat even if the drink prices are high at $ 6 per beer and $ 12 for the cocktails. If your cost conscious, then hit this place between 3 – 7 for Happy Hour where you can get them for half price. The draft beer selection is limited but they have some solid choices. I also had the brown and bourbon which was good but not great.
Inside the bar, the place has some nice décor and an upscale feel. The restaurant blends in well with the bar down the stairs. Outside the bar, you will find the swimming pool which is a great place to enjoy a drink and take a dip in the pool. Even though the pool closes at 8, you can still sit next to the fire pit.
The only knock is the food. While my wife enjoyed the hamburger, I found the chicken pesto panini to be lacking in flavor. But let’s face it, you don’t go to Bar Rosso for the food. You go for the drinks and the pool on the 7th floor. I will definitely be back.

Awesome atmosphere, cozy fireplace & great waitstaff! The bartender had great drink selections and was fun & engaging the entire visit. Will totally come back again to have Felicia make some more excellent drinks!

This Happy Hour is THE BEST. The cocktails are insane prices and everything on the happy hour food menu is great. I don’t want to discriminate but the Burrata and Lamb Spare Ribs are not to be missed.
The atmosphere is what it’s all about though. Sitting in the SE corner of the Plaza it has a great view of sunsets with such a swanky modern theme. Hotel Sorella is a designed hotel and that extends to Bar Rosso. Its design is almost distracting but then a sip of your cocktail reminds you there’s other people around.
Happy Hour is 3pm-​7pm so you have time to make it.

I liked Bar Rosso but when I think back on my experience I feel a little torn, and I think this is why: I think the rooftop atmosphere of Bar Rosso is both its greatest strength and weakness. On one hand, I loved the view and that I was able to forget I was in Kansas City for a moment. On the other hand, this seclusion means the hotel is a bit of a hassle to get to, and it can feel a little awkward lounging poolside with hotel guests. The drinks are okay but not fantastic; again though, it’s about sipping on your drink while lounging on a pool chair more so than the drink itself.
Bar Rosso was fun for a change — not sure if I’d ever be a regular here, though.

Bar Rosso offers a refreshing and classy addition to Kansas City. This place is inviting and has a great view. The cocktails are amazing, including my favorite Brown & Bourbon. I do also recommend the Salsiccia pizza which includes roasted peppers and wild boar sausage. The staff here are very well trained and the bar is not overly loud, great for a nice conversation.
Kansas City, this is now my favorite go-​to classy lounge bar. I hope to see you here.
