Applebee’s

Probably should give 0 stars… went in this evening on our way home and sat at the bar. My husband and I each had a beer while we waited for our carryout order. The bartender Dani was less than enthusiastic about having guests she didn’t know. It took about 10 minutes to order drinks and 20 for ordering food. Since I have worked in the service industry for 9 years, I am more than understanding when it comes to mediocre seevice. This was less than par. She took our order, placed the ticket down and didn’t come back except to take our payment. I paid the bill ($ 36) and rounded it to $ 50. (Which is service industry standard) she took the payment and never batted an eye. This is not the finest of establishments with the finest of service or tips but I would have at least expected a thank you. Not a word was said in return when we thanked her and left. Where do these ppl learn manners?

We went in today (4÷3÷2016) at about 5pm. They were having some issues with their computer system and they were upfront with us upon walking in. The host was a pleasure and so was our sever. The issue is that our food wasn’t the best quality, we felt that it was short changed. I had to look up what my food looked like just so I know I wasn’t crazy. On top of all that we were sitting by where they place the orders and all the waitresses gather around and talk crap on the guests. No worries I was RIGHT NEXT to them and could hear EVERYTHING! I feel that was so rude! Which then made me not want even speak to our server. I’m not sure but I believe that one of the women that was talking about the guests was a manager. The things that were said was how guests are never happy with what they get or their bill. They also said things like how people were nasty and should just go home and eat. There were several comments made about the guests and it made me and my family not want to go back to this Applebees.

This location usually isn’t overly busy so good comes out pretty quick. It’s Applebees so the food is usually just what you’d expect from a chain, nothing overly impressive. My rating stems from the service and knowledge of their serving staff. Being a server myself, I can say knowing your product Is everything. My husband and I were in a few weeks ago (kidless) so we wanted to try some drinks. I asked our waitress what was in the liberty bell (mainly because it was on a flyer on the table) and she had no idea. Not even one ingredient. She asked the bartender, stopped two servers, and ended up asking a manager. By the time she came back to the table, she forgot all ingredient besides vodka. Unbelievable. Study up darlin!

This was a very average franchise. My friend and I didn’t experience any ’”wow’” moments. However, our waiter (Ryan) was exceptional.

If there was a way to give this zero stars I would.
Every time I’ve gone here because friends have wanted to go I’ve been disappointed. Servers are always slow and not very courteous, the bathroom always has issues, the restaurant always looks dirty and tables are sticky. On more than one occasion food has had to be returned to the kitchen and redone because it tastes awful. Every time I’ve gone 30−45min after I feel horrible ad end up getting sick. If it wasn’t for the numerous chances I’ve given this particular restaurant I would think it was a coincidence, but after double digits of times this has happened I know it’s because it really is just a disgusting place. I’m done giving chances and will never return to this location.

Im a regular go just about ever sunday night after bowling the bartender cassie is very good food never had any issue service i mean if its slow then your good busy obviously going to wait its clean place

We ate here one evening after a trip to the zoo. I had the ribs which are smothered in BBQ sauce. And when I say smothered, I mean I apparently ordered a tub of BBQ sauce with a rib in there somewhere. With that said, the staff was top notch including the host and our waiter, Jor-​el.

The worst Applebee’s in America. No happy hour. No love. I still come back to see if it was actually a dream. Food is good. I just do not feel appreciated. Staff meets minimum standards. Clean and TV friendly. Place is busy so it is doing something right; the only game in town on Thursday — Kids eat free.

Food was normal Applebee’s OK. Clean. Friendly service. I feel extremely sorry for the employees and management here. I cannot imagine what they go through on a regular basis in regards to customers.

I was part of a group of 10 that went there last night after a long day. I had alerted the host that this was a hungry group and we wanted our order taken at 1 time. First, we had to flag someone down to take our order after waiting 30 minutes. They said they were confused as to who was suppose to wait on us. Then the manager apologized but didn’t offer a complimentary appetizer or dessert for the inconvenience. Then we had to ask for small plates to go with our appetizers. Obviously this Applebee’s has no experience with large groups. And obviously don’t seem to care. So if you have a large group, take your money somewhere else where you can get quick, efficient service.

My boyfriend and I arrived at about 4 pm on a Thursday. There were a few people at the bar and four or five parties seated; not busy at all.
We stood waiting at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before anyone even looked up at us and said the hostess would be right up. She wasn’t. Waited another 5 minutes before seating ourselves. No one came by, but a few other parties came in and were seated promptly. My boyfriend went to the bar and asked if we could get a waitress. The girl who answered barely looked up from counting her money and said she’d be right over – and proceeded go walk away to the back. We sat waiting for about 10 more minutes with not a single acknowledgement and finally got up and left. Worst service I have ever experienced. Very unprofessional.

Even leaving this location 1star is painful. The staffing here is horrendous. There is always a wait, even when they aren’t busy. The food is almost always served cold. None of the servers smile or seem to enjoy their job. The last time we went there will definitely be our last. We waited 15 min before our server came to the table. Ordered our drinks, appetizer and meals. 15 min later he brings the appetizer, cold, no plates and no dipping sauce. AND still no drinks. People in the booth across US were complaining to their waitress as well about the food being cold. We asked our waiter for drinks and plates and he says «oh crap» and walked off. 15 min later we got up and walked out with manager in tow. He couldn’t understand why we were so upset and just kept apologizing saying his staff were all new and not trained. Well, I suggest you train them because you just lost a customer. Will NEVER return to this location

The true definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Everytime I go to this Applebee’s some component of the service sucks. Tonight it was the greeter. Guys name was Raphael and he walked up to me and did not greet me. Barely above a whisper asks «how many?» After I say two he grabs two menus and starts walking. No directives like «follow me» or «come this way». When I get to my seat I politely asked him if he was feeling okay or if it had been a long day to give him the opportunity to explain his poor customer service. He said he was fine and that he was just trying to figure out where to seat people. There was not a crowd. No one behind me. My server was good. Energetic and cheery. She almost made up for the poor service from Raphael. I’m done with this place. They don’t even try. The bathroom was disgusting also. The worst I’ve ever seen in a restaurant that doesn’t serve fast food.

I cannot give either more than a 1… ok, i will do a 2 the manager came out and comped my meal but can still say though ewww or yuck!
This was not my first time here, I have been here many many times so before you might say he hasn’t given it a fair shot
The so called steak was grilled for maybe a bit but I sware after that it was microwaved and the baked potato wasn’t baked it was microwaved and half cold.
But before that what I can’t understand is how so many tables had yet to be bussed and it wasn’t because they were extremely busy at the time
We have continued to come to this location hoping it would get better and frankly it’s going to be some time before we go back, and frankly I don’t give a damn whether or not you have changed vendors to sysco or not… If you have had the complaints as you say, well then maybe it’s time to tell the waitresses do not sell the steak until this issue gets resolved.
Personally I think whoever your cook is should have seen it and said… nope not sending this one out, I have never had a steak that looked Grey colored on the outside or looked as inedible, but I thought I would give it a shot. I ate 2 bites and that was it.
I felt so bad for our waitress because she felt so bad and I still tipped her well because it wasn’t her fault, and I don’t blame it on the manager either for the most part, I blame it on the kitchen staff who apparently needs some training about when and when not to send something like that out of the kitchen
I will go to the Blue Springs location until this issue is completely resolved. And let me add my stomach has been blah! Since I left there
This may be a 1 time occurance, but I think after what the manger said it isn’t after all

Do not go here after a ball game as even though they had open tables there was still a wait, as well the «hostess» did no appear as though she wanted any more business tonight. There is to many options for us to just settle there so we will be spending our money else where.

Not changing my 2 start status. I approached this visit through the eyes of eating vegetarian, which I am not, but it’s a long story. My disdain for salad is a block, but I think dressing tastes blech, and it’s served cold. There’s only one salad, minus dressing, I’ll eat in the Kansas City area. Not everyone likes salad, and someone needs to correct this notion… salad…do I look like someone who eats salad? Do I have it tattooed to my forehead?
The waiter reminded me of Juan Pablo from the Bachelor, worse bachelor in history, too much hovering, and sweetness. Plus he. forgot my bread.
The menu lacked anything hot, (except .99 cent steamed vegetable sides), without meat that wasn’t fried. Truly a disaster if you don’t eat meat. Use to have a veggie burger on the menu. Not a good place any more. It wasn’t my idea to eat there, and I might not again, but probably will, only if my family wants to.
I messaged Applebees on Facebook about no vegetarian options, and they said to work with the server. Eating vegetarian, and looking at the menu, ordering… it was the biggest rip off ever. I left starving. Starving.
The appetizer isn’t enough for 2, and the tiny plate of steamed vegetables, and the 3 cheese pasta (chicken I gave to my dogs), wasn’t enough protein, nor was it balanced… next time I’ll order 3 tiny plates of steamed vegetables, and an appetizer. …or maybe take in food from the Chipolte’s near by… not my fault if Applebee’s doesn’t have decent choices.

Not such a great visit. To be truthful the last couple of times we have visited haven’t knocked my socks off. So sad. We go for the carside to go so we can take it home with us.
This time. EPIC FAIL! I ordered my usual the fiesta lime chicken & the hubby got his usual the riblet basket with onion rings. When we got home. Not riblets and not onion rings. Plus, I am a saucy kinda gal and ordered extra fiesta sauce on the side, but none was given. Grrrr. Definitely will be trying a different location next time!

4:00 on a Sunday. Host at the door ignored us. Restaurant was half empty but we had to wait for a clean table. Server didn’t greet us for almost 10 min. Drinks took another 10. Food took over half an hour. Tables that came in well after us ate before us.
As an ex-​long term employee, I’m sad to see the shape this company is in. I’ve had bad experience after bad experience over the past few months. I think it’s time for me to say goodbye forever.

I spent more than an hour of my life waiting for an appetizer and salad at this place. I’ve been to Applebee’s before, so I wasn’t expecting much. Well at this one I certainly wasn’t expecting to be treated so poorly. The manager came to ask us why our food took so long (how the hell would I know, that’s not my job). Perhaps it was because our waitress was standing around playing with her phone. And make no mistake, the was not busy. Our waitress had us and one other table. There was perhaps 10 customers in the place total. Ten too many if you ask me. After the manager accosted us, and made us feel as though we were in the wrong for our food taking so long, he just walked away. No apology for our extremely long wait or his staff member’s poor behavior.
Needless to say, that because of what happened that is the very last time I will be going to this Applebee’s. If I could give less than one star I would.

Applebee’s was awesome. Loved the lunch time crowd. Just cause I wAs the loudest probably. Our server Tabitha and e manager Ian were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Drinking in the afternoon and actually enjoying the server and place you are is very hard to find. Most people want you out if you have more than a few drinks, but they were thinking of shots and drinks as I wanted to try their favorites. Tanks guys so much. I live off the plaza but WILL so be back just for you two.
