Fukuji & Lum Physical Therapy Associates

My wife asked me to post this review for Fukuji & Lum’s Kaneohe Bay Dr. office. She has visited this location on 3 occasions and has been thoroughly impressed by their staff and the results of her treatment. One of her therapist, Rachel Hyland, has really stood out according to my wife. Rachel has a very bright and cheerful demeanor which she shares with everyone. My wife commented to Rachel that she must enjoy her job as it shows in her caring attitude towards her patients. Rachel acknowledged that she truly does. Rachel speaks very highly of Fukuji & Lum and this reflects in her caring and compassionate treatment towards her patients.

My fiancé and I were extremely unhappy with F & L. In the beginning everyone seemed nice. but later on it seemed that the staff did not care. My fiancé was prescribed physical therapy sessions there for work hardening as he has a work injury, had surgery on it last year and is getting close to getting back to work. Anyway, the staff never checked his blood pressure, as we now know is standard procedure at any reputable rehabilitation center during a session. He was always just given a list of things to do and sent to it with no one there to assist should he need help, make sure he was ok should he have difficulty. He became very ill at one point and the staff made him feel as if he was lying about it, treating him poorly. we even had doctor records, notes etc confirming his illness and health issues that were, at the time, causing progress to slow down. He was very upset. They almost caused him to lose his benefits, which he did not deserve. He was told that he HAD to make every single session or he would lose his WC. So … even sick as a dog he would show up because that is the only income that we have to pay the bills. they treated him like he was faking it. We are disgusted with this place.
Also, there are very few machines to work with here, noone assigned specifically to your case to help you all the way.
In the end his surgeon got him into a MUCH better and more professional rehabilitation facility that is amazing and his progress has really moved forward.
We DO NOT recommend sending anyone here if they really want quality care and professional staff that understand and take health issues and risks into consideration.

This is the best place to get physical therapy ! The staff is so caring and personable, and above all, they really know how to help each client. I never feel rushed, and they are always trying to find a new method that might help me more. To top it off, the view outside their doors takes your mind off what ails you. .a waterside view of peaceful kaneohe bay! Brad, Nate and Colleen are great!

This is an awesome place to rehab. Lots of parking, great location with nice views, and the staff is the best. They have all of the necessary knowledge and equipment to get you back to normal. I’ve been through therapy with them for two different injuries and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Fukuji and Lum has been an amazing ray of sunshine. I’ve had multiple surgeries and seen a few other offices in the past but F & L has been far and away the best. The customer service and attention to detail on my recovery is off the charts amazing.
I recently tore both my acl and mcl and I’ve been seeing them 3 times a week for roughly 4 months. I’m glad to say without F&L I would not be able to do half of what I’m capable of. Sadly, I have a rare condition with asian males called arthofibrosis, which basically makes my scar tissue grow upward rather than outward, like a spiderweb. My surgeon said it would be a possibility that I would have to have a second surgery, 6 weeks out to manipulate my knee if the PT didn’t go well. I’m proud to say that because of F&L I didn’t need the second surgery and being 11 weeks out, I’m way ahead of schedule.
Mark and Woody are definitely the men you want to see. There have been many times the pain level was so unbearable I was almost in tears. After each visit, I left feeling like a champ. They also offer Kinesio tape to help manage the pain, which believe it or not, works.

Amazing culture, great family environment, and highly recommended. If you need PT, a massage, or some pain relief, look no further. A+
