Had lunch here today with the rest of the gang from work to celebrate a co-workers Bday. We come here pretty frequently usually for pasta buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Great deal for good pasta. 10.95 all you can eat pasta and salad bar. But today our waitress, Lii, recommended the special which was the hamburger steak. Omg… it was delicious. Two home made patties smothered in a very flavorful rich brown gravy and topped with sweet mushrooms and onions. Served with rice and Mac salad. Great Food, Excellent service… Lii is awesome she’s quick and knowledgeable and has a great aloha spirit. Great lunch at the OClub. Four stars for today’s visit.

Enjoyed Easter Brunch with the fam this morning! I’m not a big breakfast eater, but I do like to pick… which is why I love buffets! I get to try a little of everything. Kiddos dove right in to the waffle and pancake bar and ate two bowls of miso soup. LOVED: The early breakfast reservations — not crowded yet, ample parking, could enjoy table conversation, and kiddos could walk around without the fear of being trampled. Super kid and family friendly! They also stagger the reservations in 30 minute increments. Everyone was laid back, not stuffy like some other buffets I’ve been to in town. The Easter decorations — so adorable! Egg wreaths, plush bunnies, plastic eggs galore, and each table had pastel napkins and baskets filled with eggs. Kiddos were super excited when we were shown our table. Service — our water, coffee, and diet cokes were never empty. They were pleasant even though it was their Easter holiday too! She even changed out my coffee cup — this is huge to me — since my coffee must be HOT! Shout out to Rebecca! Crispy bacon, chocolate fountain, eggs-made-to-order(deep breath), poke bar, fresh fruit and dessert bar. Hubby consumed copious amounts of Thai sweet sour soup(Tom yum)… 6 bowls and counting. It’s too sweet for my liking. And… 3 bowls of clam chowder. My mom loved the mussels and Tako poke. Tako poke was coated with a slightly sweet miso sauce. PASS: I was not a fan of the lamb and mint jelly(though my papa liked this). SWEETENDING: Make your own Sundae bar, chocolate fountains(creations only limited by your imagination), macadamia pie, chocolate mousse cake, tirimisu cake, Boston cream pie, cheesecake with assorted toppings and macaroons… don’t make a rookie mistake like me… grab a big entrée plate before heading to the dessert table! Will definitely be back… maybe for Mothers Day…

Location is about as good as it gets for a place to eat on a Marine Corps installation… Menu is decent… kitchen is fast… prices are ok… service…hit or miss… some people just need to hang up serving at a certain age… might have been decent in their prime…

As a music venue– Officer’s Club is about as different as you can get with all the amenities. There’s our Lewer’s Lounge with a dark intimate atmosphere, there is our standing room only Republik for medium shows and the Blasdail or Stadium for U2 or Rain or Janet Jackson that can afford the biggest venues. Where can a smaller artist get a gig for about 300 people that is an experience for their show that doesn’t distract from the music– Answer Officer’s Club. I would have never thought of it but after seeing a show– my mind has been changed. There is a need in HI for medium venues. We’re not LA, NY or Chicago that can pack 50,000 fans daily. So– keeping with my music theme of reviews I’m working on– Officer’s Club is on my radar for a medium venue for future artists. If it is good enough for the current president to visit then it should be good enough for the rest of us. Full bar and good made to order food as well as catered. Can really bring out the well roundedness needed for any occasion.

Went here for an event, overall the food was pretty good but nothing spectactular. The staff was great and the views were amazing. The setting was nice but the main«ballroom» is a little outdated with mirrored ceiling.

Best brunch on the island. My husband and I bring all our guest to the Sunday Champagne Brunch. The cost is very reasonable and the drinks flow. You are offered a great variety of food from breakfast classics like eggs Benedict to crab legs. The menu has something for everyone and everything is delicious. Call for a reservation. Enjoy the Staff and Auntie playing her small guitar.

Pro’s: Great views, very welcoming, good menu, prices. Con’s: Fish & Chips weren’t crispy, slow service, store bought humus. Conclusion: I enjoyed the home like feeling and I thought the menu looked great, I just happen to get two things that weren’t so good. I’ll be back for another round !

My Coworkers and I usually go out to eat together at least once a week. So instead of going to Kahunas we decided we’d head up to the officers club. It has now become almost routine that we head here instead. Parking Located at the bottom of KT Hill the parking is no issue at all. There is parking next to the building or across in the gravel. Ambiance & Seating: The décor for an O club is standard at this location. Nothing new or exciting, just more of that strange mismatched hotel/ballroom décor. What really sets this place apart is the view. The giant windows open up to the Klipper golf course and then the gorgeous pacific ocean in the distance. No matter the day it is simply breathtaking. Service: Service is always consistent here, super friendly servers and a great helpful staff. No complaints here. What we Ordered. On the several occasions that we’ve been here we’ve ordered(I will put our ratings 1 being– don’t ever order and 10 being order now!) : The Spinach Salad–(10⁄10) baby spinach with strawberries, papaya, avocado, pinenuts, mandarin oranges topped with a raspberry vinegrette. You can add grilled chicken, grilled pacific white fish or grilled shrimp. — You just can’t beat fresh greens and fresh fruit! The vinegrette is refreshing and light, which compliments everything so perfectly Carnitas Tacos(2⁄10) Spicy pulled pork on two flour tortillas with shredded lettuce, diced tomato and house made pico de gallo — They were dry and lacked in flavor. My co workers said they could make better tacos at home. Fish Tacos(2⁄10) Grilled fillets of pacific white fish served on two flour tortillas topped with a blend of lettuce, diced tomatoes and chili-lime sauce. Same as the carnitas, nothing special and a relatively small portion. The happy greek burger —(8⁄10) 100% hawaiian ranchers beef with Feta cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and Tzatziki sauce on an onion bun — Delicious, Italian Hoagie(4⁄10) Ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and banana peppers with vinaigrette dressing served hot or cold — Just your normal sandwhich a step above subway but nothing super spectacular. Chicken and Waffle(10⁄10) Honey dipped fried chicken over a belgian waffle with lilikoi-honey butter MONEYINTHEBANNNNKK! The honey dipped fried chicken is a bone in thigh and it is moist, sweet, crispy and delicious. The honey on top just makes my day. There are 4 belgian waffles that come with the dish and they are crispy just as a waffle should be, the lilikoi honey butter is the icing on the cake, I’m not sure who thought of this but they should get an award of sorts. It comes together like a good ol southern lady married a sweet local boy and they had babies, gorgeous, delicious, sweet, fried honey dipped fried chicken belgian waffles with lilikoi butter babies! What you should order The spinach salad, the happy greek burger or the chicken and waffles! Would I come back– I usually do, on a weekly basis! The prices are great and for one lunch I never pay more than 15 with tip and that includes great food, great company and a gorgeous view!

Had the unique opportunity of coming here on a very special evening. This particular night they would be unveiling their new menu which is now available on select days. My good friend John N set up the get together and Nat N., Lori M. and myself joined him to try out the offerings. First off, for those of us fortunate enough to dine at this lounge, it’s really an interesting place. The bar area where we were seated has its walls filled with memorabilia from the various Navy and Marine Corp squadrons, past and present. I found it extremely interesting and there is even an actual rotor blade from one of those large helicopters that the Marine Corp flies. It’s a really cool bar and I mentioned to John how cool it must be to watch a sporting event here, such as the Super Bowl or NBA playoffs! There are several large screen monitors throughout the bar to watch them on! As for the food… Well, for starters, I had a Kona Longboard draft in a tall glass, very refreshing! We all ordered a bunch of stuff and shared it amongst ourselves. The fried rice with over easy eggs on top was very good. You could actually have that for breakfast, it’s a generous portion that would satisfy your morning cravings! We also had a half– pound of the truffle fries. I’m not a big fan of truffle oil style fries or garlic fries for that matter, but the gang enjoyed those. I prefer plain fries with plain katsup! :) Other dishes we ordered were, prime rib sliced into cubes with au jus, thick cut bacon with creamed corn, poke with avocado, a trio of sliders which included: shrimp, steak and crab cake. Chef sent out a sample of their BBQ ribs which was really tasty and this delicious bacon wrapped asparagus which we all enjoyed! My favorites? I enjoyed that thick cut bacon with creamed corn and the poke, sans the avocado. It was well flavored, i could taste the bits of Hawaiian salt, just the way I like it. Enjoyed these freshly made potato chips that were served with this tangy sauce. The ribs were really soft, fall off the bone kind and were great! Wasn’t too crazy about the sliders, maybe it was just because I’m not used to that spicy type of prep for shrimp and crab cakes. Well… Now for dessert. Who can forget about that! We HAD to try it! I’m so glad we did! We had these s’mores which were delicious and my favorite, chocolate lava cake with chocolate ice cream! Haha, everyone was commenting on how they should serve it with vanilla ice cream, but me, hehe, I was secretly enjoying the double chocolate treat! Anything chocolate!!! It was a fun evening and the service was really great. They are really nice there, even the chef came over to check on us! What a terrific place to have a few drinks and some tasty pupus with friends. I hope to go back again soon. Thanks Big John for setting it up, I had a great time!!!

To keep up with the gastro pub trend, the Officer’s Club rolled out a new menu available Wednesday-Friday evenings — the club pub menu. We went on the first night to check it out. Here are my favorite items from last night’s dinner: Fried Rice — loved it. It wasn’t soggy or oily, and it had a nice local flavor. I just wish there was more of it! If you love bacon, you should try their applewood bacon and bacon wrapped asparagus. The prime rib is a sure thing. The O Club always makes great tasting prime rib. Always pink and moist on the inside. I love how they cut it into cubes so that it can be enjoyed by everyone on your table. The truffle oil fries are a must-try. The fries are crispy, and you can really taste the truffle oil. They also have a lot of great beers on tap, Irish dinner specials, and a shuffle board! Here’s the link to their full menu:

I came here for the wedding. So I shall review for the wedding. The location was gorgeous! It is located by the air strip but when you are in their rooms you can see the shore line and the mountains :) If you have a wedding here you can decorate the room to your liking and the club will supply the linens. Also you can bring your own dj and there is tons of room to dance! The food here was amazing! We got a great salad, yummy steak chicken and veggie plate and traditional apple pie for dessert. And because we were at a wedding we wanted to drink. For a glass of wine, a soda and 5 beers it was 30 bucks. Cheap right? All and all this is a great place for a wedding. It’s a great location, nice venue, pretty view, Yummy food, good alochol and the staff seemed really nice! If your thinking about having a wedding here DOIT!

Though this restaurant is located on the Marine Corps Base at Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii and open only to officer or senior Senior NCO military personnel and their families, this is a good option if you’re out exploring the north shore or Kailua area of Oahu. With a nice fountain adorning the entry to this historic club built in 1941, the building has been updated recently with a dining room that overlooks the base golf club, swimming pool, and in the distance the ocean. The menu for lunch is affordable and consists of traditional lunch fare as well as a buffet and salad bar with rotating options that look and smell appetizing, as well as a children’s menu. I had the fish tacos with salad, and my children had a hot dog and a grilled cheese sandwich, each with fries. My tacos were delicious, with fresh, locally caught Mahi Mahi grilled with Cajun spices, a spicy aioli sauce, and fresh lettuce. The boys’ fries were large, fresh-cut, and perfectly seasoned, while the hot dog was carefully grilled on a higher-quality bun. Grilled cheese was standard issue, but was real cheddar instead of processed American cheese. The service was prompt, welcoming, and friendly, and for three entrees and water, we spent $ 20. Not bad for a vacation meal in Hawaii. Next time we’re on Oahu, we’ll certainly visit again and perhaps try dinner.

Held our wedding and rehearsal dinner here. First place we looked at. They were great with helping pick a date that would work for us. Most everything we got through them as well: food, seating, table coverings, sound system. We were able to bring in our own cake lady and paid a little more for a tent for the outside seating. The Maui room is where we held the reception and it was gorgeous. Overlooking the back of base that falls into the ocean, it was such a beautiful backdrop. The ceremony was on the pool deck under the gazebo and same view. It was great to have everything in one spot. The manager, Nyla, was amazing as well. She helped make sure everything was prepared and the way we wanted it on the day. Extremely friendly staff and the food was delicious. Everything was just the way we wanted! I spent a lot of time there during the planning as well and will continue on returning for the great view, food and service!
