The manager from the near by hotel recommended. We did take out and food was excellent. We had turkey burger, pau fish sandwich and chicken club sandwich. They were all really great. The fish sandwich was ahi and it was one of the best fish sandwich i ever had. The price is reasonable too. When i called to place order, the girl I spoke with was very sweet yet professional. When i came to pick up without a bag, the man behind the counter went out of his way to find a box for me to carry the food in, then even open the door for me. This is our new favorite in waimea.

Super yummy! My man and I ordered pizza for take out. It didn’t take long and was really good!!! The pizza was cooked perfectly! Staff was very very kind! Our go to spot!

Spectacular!!! This may not have been our first choice, but it will be now! We thought we wanted to eat in another restaurant that shares a parking lot with Pau, and we were told that it would be over an hour wait for a table. So we were wandering back to the car and saw Pau.
We entered, and it smelled wonderful! We were greeted warmly and shown to a table right away. I thought it was a «pizza joint» but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the menu.
My husband had a «Whole Hog» sandwich, which is in essence meat pizza on a bun instead of crust — he LOVED it! And I had the Fresh Catch (Ono) with Pesto Pasta — very impressive: flavorful, broccoli inside was cooked well, and the dish was filling!
We completed our meal with a pineapple cider for me, and a local (Kona) brew for him. Fantastic Hawaiian meal, and priced to rave about!
We fly back to Seattle tonight, but were coming back, and when we do, Pau will be one of the first stops, not the last!

This is a very heartbreaking post. After coming here for so many years (seriously 8x a month or more with 10 – 12 pax) the food has totally improved but he customer service/​management has gone down. 2 hours for 2 pizzas? Bless their heart but when your one of only 3 tables, it’s GOT to be stepped up. I do love ‘Um so I’ll try another time. Please, please STOP taking orders and to-​go orders until your caught up.

Wow! You get a tasty and healthy food for a very reasonable price. Can’t beat that! The portion is just right too so one can’t over eat. It’s very laid back and casual atmosphere here.

I also had one interesting dining experience here where the employee must have been new because during lunch you order at the counter then sit, but at dinner you sit then order; we were right in between so I didn’t know what to do and so I asked if it’s lunch or dinner and the response was «uh huh»…luckily another employee took over and got our order. But then the new guy brought out our order and brought a Ceasar salad when we had ordered a Superfood and we asked, «That’s the superfood?» to which he responded, «Yes» when it was obviously Ceasar.

We are giving this a 5 based on JUST the salad and staff! What a great stop! I am a foodie. THIS PLACE WAS A GRAND SLAM! Wine (a Chianti) was overpriced, but the salad and pizza was great. The salad was exceptional… we wished we would have just added the fish of the day — Mahi Mahi. I want to drive up just to have that again! OH… the pizza looked like a thick crust, but it was crispy and light… right in between a thick crust and cracker crust. The flavors were perfectly done! (We had the pepperoni with carmelized onions and parm). These guys do it right! If you are in the area. STOP!

This place has gone downhill. Ate there 3 years ago. The turkey burger was amazing. Ate there again this week and it was dry and flavorless. Sad. Won’t be going back.
