Pistachios Catering

I absolutely agree with Grace 100%. I am not sure how they stay in business. I hired them a few years ago for a company Christmas dinner. One of the business owners, who I coordinated with, she acted like everything was a hassle. They are extremely overpriced for their quality of food. I would describe their food as mediocre at best. The staff they sent to cater my Christmas dinner was extremely socially inept and made it difficult while we were trying to have a good time. I was extremely surprised to see a reply to Grace’s post because my experience with them was everything but trying to make things right. Do yourself a favor, hire another caterer. There are several great ones in the Kalamazoo area!

I spent over a month trying to contact this highly recommended catering company to only be ignored, given multiple excuses and made to feel like my potential business was not at all a priority. The director of events (one of the owners) was never available when she said she would be, even though we coordinated many times to talk on the phone. She also shared quite too much personal information with me in her excuses for being unavailable. This is extremely unprofessional in my opinion (I am also a business owner). Had she told me from the beginning that this was a very busy time for the company and it would be several weeks before she could give me her undivided attention, I could have understood. But, to be strung along week after week and given excuse after excuse for why she couldn’t connect about an event is inexcusable and bad business in my opinion.
Unfortunately for Pistachios, they just lost out on several thousand dollars and an awesome Unilocal review. I cannot recommend this business at all based on the interactions I’ve had with them. There are a lot of other great catering companies in the surrounding Kalamazoo area that I would recommend contacting instead of Pistachios.
