I’m Chinese, so that meant two things for my wedding: 1) I wanted to incorporate some elements of Chinese-ness into the wedding. 2) I didn’t want to spend a fortune doing it. For our wedding favors, my husband and I knew for sure that we wanted to have fortune cookies. I didn’t think that fortune cookies would taste too differently, so I focused on the price when I looked into various vendors. DCW Hawaii turned out to offer the most competitive rate at $ 0.55 per fortune cookie with a one-time $ 10 fee to create a customized message insert. They were quite easy to deal with(they only seem to communicate via email, so keep that in mind). No more than a week to figure out the details of our order and the length of our message(we were able to put Chinese and English, so that was awesome). Since I live in Kailua, it was easy enough to go to their store to pick it up. What gets them 5 stars is that what I got exceeded my expectations. Granted, I didn’t have high ones to start with(I was just focused on the price), but these cookies had the best flavor of all fortune cookies I’ve tried. In fact, one of my cousins, who is really shy and doesn’t really talk much, came up to ask where we got the cookies from because it tasted that great. I also liked that the cookie was sizeable. I was thinking we would get something like the kind you find at Costco in bulk or at Panda Express, but it was noticeably bigger. Also, I ate a fortune cookie yesterday, two months after the wedding, and it still tastes super fresh. No staleness detected at all. Would I recommend them? Totally.
