I was so bummed when they tore down one of the few island shack homes left standing amidst towering condos. Partially because my friend Paul lived there and partially for the nostalgia of what old kona looked like but now seeing what a beautiful little in town beach park they have transformed it into, I’m loving it. This place has a little bit of everything, grassy area w benches, showers and good surf, a perfect spot for a little romantic stroll to end a good dinner on a Alii drive.
