Delicious coffee and hella tasty bagels. Servers were helpful in suggesting their favorites and what most customers liked.

My husband and I came by to pick up some coffee to bring back home with us to NY. The staff was friendly, informative and very helpful. We picked up four different types of coffee beans to try out. My husband tried the red rooster and I had a caramel frap to go. Starbucks will never be able to compare to this! The coffee was rich and flavorful. It didn’t taste bitter or burnt. We had a great experience here!

Great stop for a caffeine pick me up before heading to Kahului airport! Maui Coffee Roasters is located in an unassuming strip mall near OGG. Their coffee is excellent and affordable for Maui. The thai high iced coffee was strong and had the perfect level of ssweetness. Would also recommend their cold brew and lillikoi cake.

Horrible experience! I was halfway through eating my breakfast egg sandwhich when I realized the already watered down egg was actually not cooked… UGH!!! So sick. My stomach turned immediately. Their coffee was bitter and the customers are so unthoughtful… I was struggling with the door holding coffee drinks and literally had no one offer to help me. Worst experience.

The chocolate raspberry cold brew is so good. You don’t even need to add anything to it because it has a nuce raspberry flavor to it. The ham, egg, and cheddar bagel could have been better. For an open face sandwich with melted cheese on it, it sure was cold. You can choose which bagel you want and the garlic bagel was a good choice.

I had the Cold Nitro brew. I loved it! Had the slightly creamy airy taste like there was some milk/froth, but there wasn’t! Definitely a must try if you haven’t had nitro cold brew before. I ended up buying 1 lb each of their whole beans: coconut & chocolate Mac Nut. Hopefully it’s good. I have a feeling I had their coconut coffee before from a friend and I liked it

Stopped by to check things out having heard good things. I ordered the crab melt on plain bagel and my boyfriend got the smoked salmon Benedict. Crab melt was yummy. Imitation crab mixed with red onion, and celery, topped with melted cheese blend, fresh tomato and sprouts on a toasted bagel of choice. I’d definitely order it again. The Benedict on the other hand was just meh. Super small portion, un-toasted English muffin, very little smoked salmon, and topped with a pale and watery sauce. Not very appealing to the eye but my boyfriend said it tasted alright. In the showcase they offer quiche which looked yummy and some of Madame donuts yummy creations. I had the pleasure of trying Madame donuts this weekend and they were AH-mazing! Vanilla bean and maple bacon were top notch. $ 5 in store but honestly totally worth it! Next time I think I’ll get a donut and cup of their coffee.

This was our last stop on our way home. We had a couple hours to kill and there surprisingly are not a lot of breakfast places in Kahului. Therefore we stopped here based on the reviews for a café style place. This is a locals shop. Not touristy like every other place. This place has a lot of different roasts and beans to purchase as well is french press machines if you are looking for one. I ordered the eggs Benedict that was around $ 8. Really wasnt sure what to expect with it. It was really really good! The sauce was super creamy with a kick of spice. The yolk was actually runny and not just hard boiled. Nothing fancy and on a paper plate. I got the tropical ice tea and pops got the roast of the day. Both good but nothing exciting to report on these.

When in Hawaii it still blows my mind that anyone would visit a chain coffee shop where you can have something so special, local and fresh; There’s definitely something to be said about a local coffee shop that roasts their own beans and sells locally made baked goods. All of this wonderfulness can be found in Maui Coffee Roasters where the environment is inviting and fun, the coffee and brewing methodologies are top notch, and the baked goods fell out of Hawaii heaven! Let’s start with the coffee — I am no coffee aficionado, especially when compared to my husband, but I do appreciate a good cup of joe. Pour overs, nitro brew, french press, you name it and they will do it. They also have many different types of locally brewed coffee to choose from. But that nitro. that cold brew, nitrogen infused, creamy without cream mouth feel is unlike anything I’ve had before. Don’t miss out. The real star of the show in my eyes(sorry, coffee), the donuts! OMG! Full disclosure, I’m not much of a donut person and rarely indulge, but when I saw the lady in front of me order 5 of them, I was curious. An everything bagel donut with savory cream cheese frosting and dehydrated onions, poppy and sesame seeds? Weird, but okay! And man, this was more than okay! The locally made donut is only available a few days per week and it is thick, chewy, savory, sweet, salty, creamy, decadent — yes, all of that! We enjoyed the coffee and donut so much, we came back a second time and tried the smores donut(sad day when the everything bagel donut is not available) and of course, more coffee. You can’t beat great coffee and great food with a knowledgeable yet unpretentious staff!

If you’re a spoiled coffee drinker staying outside of Kahului, do yourself a favor and make Maui Coffee Roasters your first stop and stock up! Your trip will be much better because you did! Local coffee grown within miles, roasted steps of the shop, brewed within a week of roasting, and served with respect, knowledge, love, and a healthy dose of fun sums up the Maui a Coffee Roasters experience! No specialty coffee snobbery here! We happened upon this place while exploring the Kahului area, en route to Up Country. Thanks to many local Unilocalers and Reno Unilocal friends and coffee lovers Paul, Dale, Michelle and Erica, I know we were in the right place! My norm is to try a pour over and an espresso of the same coffee to taste the two expressions. When I asked the staff was kind enough to explain that they did not serve Hawaiian coffee as espresso because it would simply be too expensive for the guest, and she pointed me toward the Ka’u Estate single brew as an interesting choice. They use a Chemex here, and it makes a great tea like brew that lets the flavors wash over your palate. The Ka’u was so good, with notes of fruit that tasted like the island to me, with a little hibiscus and floral quality too. I really enjoyed it and came back a few days later for more! Maybe even more surprising than the coffee were the donuts! Apparently they get them fresh daily from a local company that typically sells at farmers markets. The flavors were really interesting, and we just couldn’t get enough. On the first visit we had an «Everything but the Bagel» donut with caramelized onion, poppy seed, and cream cheese icing! Sounds crazy but was crazy good! Next time we had a S’Mores with Bruleed marshmallow, graham cracker dust and chocolate icing. These donuts weren’t too sweet and the balance was awesome! They also sell their coffee retail and I wanted to take some home, but missed the roasting date by a week. The staff was so awesome and understanding of my hesitation too! I mean, it’s hard to be fresher than less than a week old, but I knew Id be unable to drink it in time, and the lady at the counter totally commiserated with me on that! She even offered to call me if they roasted some while I was there! This is a must visit for anyone looking for Hawaiian coffee on Maui. It’s location is perfect for those traveling from Kihei or Lahaina toward Up Country or the Road to Hana. Do yourself a favor and stop by!

Maui Coffee Roasters is a part of a center with its own parking lot. Plenty of free parking available. This shop has plenty of tables. The smell of coffee when you walk in is so potent I nearly didn’t order any more coz it served its purpose and woke me up. :) Their mocha is good. Their Kona coffee is better. Their hot chocolate is pretty good. too.

Why would you go to Starbucks when you can have coffee here?! Funky, eclectic décor, plenty of seating, and a varied selection of coffees, bagels, and other food made for a great morning. Service was a little slow, but in a «chill» way, not a careless way. I quite enjoyed it! Free wifi and bar seating available. Ooh, and cold brew!

November 18, 2015 Wednesday — 9:00AM for breakfast 4 adults Atmosphere — 4 star Food — 4 stars Service — 5 stars Background — We need some food and coffee before the Road to Hana. Unilocal helped us find this place. Atmosphere — A tiny place in a strip mall. Very few tables, and they are setup for a couple not four people. Food Drinks — I had the mocha, which had a lot of chocolate which I love Main course — I had a breakfast bagel so I could get some protein in my morning meal. Solid but no wow factor to it. Service — They make the coffee in one area and you pick it up when done. The food is brought out to you. Everything was done correctly and probably the fastest coffee place we visited on Maui. Future — If we are in the area.

Very cute coffee shop, they stop serving bagel sandwiches at 5pm. Staff were not very friendly and welcoming, the type that wait for you to speak while staring at you. –_– I ordered a caramel latte HOT from here and it was delicious! my sister ordered a cold white mocha=also delicious, I also got a cinnamon raisin bagel w/cream cheese toasted =ALSO delicious! Second visit-I ordered an ICED caramel latte=tasted NOTHING like the hot version. My sis ordered the same thing but with a double shot=SAMESIZECUP as single-shot. There was a piece of paper stating the sizes, the single shot was smaller than the double shot. However, when she was given the drink, we had to make sure it was a double shot since it was still in the small sized cup! Bagels were super BLAND!!! egg and ham sandwich needed much salt, pepper, and butter for SOME flavor! My bagel was BARELY toasted=YUCK!!! After that, we decided not to revisit.

My wife and I visited a lot of coffee places on the island. This one won our award for not only best coffee on the island but one of the best we have ever had. The drip coffee takes a bit of time but is worth it. there is a friendly rooster out front who greets you sometimes to :)

Why go to Starbucks when you can have local coffee like this?! Hubs and I enjoyed the Hawaiian Salted Caramel Latte & Macadamia Nut Latte. To eat we had bagels — one filled with Guava Butter & the other with Strawberry Honey Cream Cheese. Ono!!!

If you’re looking for a great coffee, as well as a cool atmosphere, then Maui Coffee Roasters is an excellent choice while in Kahului, HI. While you can get Starbucks anywhere, sometimes when you travel you want to experience something a little more«local» and a reflection of your destination. You will find that here. My mom loves to stop here when she visits; and my brother was happy to take home several pounds of coffee as gifts for friends after his trip to Maui. I usually get the coffee of the day and it never disappoints. There may be a homeless person(or two) hanging around, but that’s just part of life here in Kahului; and they are usually just trying to get a cozy spot out of the sun and should be no worry. While the seating can be tight due to the coffee shop’s popularity, my friends and I still enjoy pushing together tables and catching up here! You should check it out. I believe there’s also a punchcard, so if you plan on making this a regular stop, be sure to pick one up!

I had a friend visiting from Oahu and we met for an early lunch. We decided on Maui coffee roasters — it’s one of my favorite places to hang out at in Kahului and I wanted to share it with her. I saw this delicious fruit parfait just sitting all by itself in the window-staring me down. I’m a sucker for parfaits-they’re healthy(hey-it has fruit,) they’re pretty(so colorful!) and! They’re so so Ono. I’ve never had one from here before so I knew I had to give ‘er a whirl. We grabbed a place outside and I excitedly got ready to indulge. I was hoping it was going to be as awesome as I’d hoped. And, I was right. Lots of seeds, fresh fruit and some bomb custard, it was gone before I knew it. But I managed to get a photo first. Seriously. If you want breakfast or lunch-go get yourself some heaven in a cup from MCR. Only flip side is, they have a limited number so. Get there early! I promise-you won’t be disappointed. :)

Move over Starbucks, because Maui Coffee Roasters is where real Maui locals go to grab coffee! Located near the airport this little local gem offers an assortment of caffeinated drinks, sandwiches and a darn good yogurt parfait. I ordered a lox and bagel sandwich which would have been very satisfying except they ran out of sprouts. My dining partner and I grabbed a table outside and enjoyed a good hour of conversation. Maui Coffee Roasters gets quite a bit of traffic and it’s fun to people watch as well. Great spot to grab a bite and spend a few hours working on that novel you’ve been meaning to write. Minus one star because they ran out of sprouts for my bagel sandwich and I ordered coffee but the cashier forgot to ring it up. Wom wom wom… Be sure to sign up for their loyalty card because for every fifth drink you buy, you get one free! My favorite part is they can just look up your name on their computer register. Cheers to buying local!
