So I decided to go here to cut my hair after a couple of friends told me they go here. I knew this was a school so I was expecting it to take a little longer then other salons. I didn’t however expect it to take almost 2 hours to cut about 3 inches. With that said please keep in mind you probably shouldn’t do this on your lunch break lol. I had Derek doing my hair. He gave me a shampoo n condition… which in itself took a bit too long. He was gentle n very thorough. At first he didn’t understand what I wanted exactly, partly my fault, but after combing out my hair he went n got his instructor for more clarification. The place is a little hot and a bit noisy as there is a lot of chairs for students. But alll in all it was a good experience n I likely will return here keeping in mind not to go unless I have a lot of time.

Got my deep conditioning by claudia and she is so patient and confident. Ended my dat with my third microdermabrasion by my favorite MALIA so professional and supportive! Cant wait til mext weeks service!

REMINDER: This isn’t a five star salon that costs $ 100 per cut. This is a school salon and student stylists with a teacher observing from behind. So with that in mind, make sure you allow enough time to get the proper servives done.
I decided to come check out the ibs school for a haircut. It was suppose to be a simple trim; but I decided for a short angled bob. I’m really glad I did! Student ashley cut my hair with the teacher assisting. I’ve got countless compliments on the cut and she did an amazing job! You wouldn’t have guessed I got it cut at a school salon.
The ibs school provides all services from haircuts, color, facials, makeup, pedicures and manicures. There prices are unbeatable if you go to any other salon on Maui.
