Burger King

FOOD POISONING. Yesterday 1÷22÷16.
I ordered a veggie burger meal. A few hours later I got fever, diarrhea and throwing up. Thankfully I only fed my toddler applesauce from this place. I had no meat so it must have been cross contamination, bad mayo or the employees are not washing hands properly. I am never going there again, that’s for sure.

Twence got busy in Burger King bathrooms…

Located on the corner of Ka’ahumanu and Pu’unene Avenues, this was their first location on Maui. (Like Mickey D’s down the street). The food is your typical fast food fare which they once touted as «have it your way» which is now pretty much the norm with several fast food places. The burgers, are still big and greasy and messy, and in the last year or so, they too have stepped up their game by offering different specialty burgers and drinks. The dining room it self is pretty bare bones with a few booths and tables with chairs… a eat and go kinda place. In the mornings you’ll find the «older crowd» in there eating breakfast or just having coffee. I miss the old look where it was more «cozy» and they had the magnificent large painting of what I believe was Kamehameha on his double hulled canoe welcoming Captain Cook on the Discovery. Drive-​through is pretty quick with the average wait time to get your order about 5 minutes.

Stopped in for a coffee as this was the only place open before 7 that we could find. Was disappointed that they didn’t have decaf coffee though. The inside of the restaurant is very clean though, and that says something!

Craving an easy snack after a north-​island drive. Stopped in here and got sticker shock (ain’t like the mainland!) from the $ 3.99 side salad. The burgers were as they always are, and the place was decently clean. Good staff, nice location, but not too stoked that BK decided to post up right next to an elementary school. Give the kids a chance to thrive!

This is your typical BK, and on the older side too. Its gone through a few minor renovations but not much has changed.
BEVERAGE:
Iced coffee — Way too sweet, and hardly a hint of coffee flavor. Leave this up to Starbucks and McD’s.
FOOD:
Whopper — With cheese… My every time order burger. I love the flavor of the flame broil. Sometimes when I feel like a pig, I order a double. Geezuz… Oink!
Onion Rings — Frozen goodness. I don’t like that zesty dipping sauce it comes with. Ranch or Caesar please!
Fries — They’re thicker than normal and super crispy. They just don’t have that golden arch flavor though.
SERVICE:
Overall fast and friendly. No major issues.

Worst fast food on the island, no joke. Horrible service and cold food. Been here half a dozen times and they magically make me regret coming here every time. Beware!
