Amazing hidden gem of Jupiter… sounds like a food critic line right?! I’m a local, and I drive by this place all the time. Finally went in and checked it out with my parents when they came to visit from up North, and it was incredible! The conch appetizer is a MUST! Fish tacos were like fish filet tacos they were so big, shrimp and grits were fantastic, and the sweet potato grouper was delicious. Service was fast, friendly, and she talked us into ordering everything we got, and was spot on with all of her recommendations! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

I can’t believe it has taken me so long to write this review as we are some of the biggest regulars here. So for those of you that don’t know, Old Florida Grill is by far the best every day restaurant in the city. It is Duffy’s or Hurricane’s on steroids at approximately the same price. Located in the old Forgettable Shark Bites location — this is the polar opposite of that detestable restaurant. As you walk up you will notice and outdoor bar as well as a generous amour of shaded outdoor seating. You will often find live music on many nights. The host stand migrates between in and outside, but either way you will be greeted quickly and with a smile. Inside there is a distinctive Jupiteridian flare. Black and white pictures of old south Florida combined with nautical maps complete the perfect ambiance. For those looking to pony up to the bar there is plenty of room. As far as the food, everything here is amazing. I can say that with certainty, now having had everything on the menu. The mahi portion is ample in both the delightful Blackened Dolphin Avocado as well as the stuff Dolphin Taco. They have daily specials just like Food Shack which usually consists of two or three fish dishes, special wings, a remarkable burger, appetizer, and soup as well as there traditional menu. Standouts include the fried conch, blackened dolphin avocado, dolphin Reuben, fried grouper sandwich, chicken and Brie, shrimp and grits, and the bronzino. Nothing, as far as I can tell is pre made from the salad dressing to the remoulade. They also have a wonderful happy hour every day on craft beer like TBC to liquor like Tito’s. As you can tell I am a fan, a raving fan. Wether it is lunch or dinner, you cannot loose. If you are thinking of Ale House, Duffy’s or Hurricane’s — skip them and go here. You will not be let down. Until my next fantastic fish find, dine fine.

Five stars given in regard to comparable restaurants in the area. Service: Hostess is friendly and greets you with a smile. We have been there six times, since they opened. Service has been attentive, friendly and professional. The servers know the food and describe it well along with offering suggestions. Laurel and Maria Denise have even remembered us upon subsequent visits ! Bartenders make great drinks, unlike some other restaurants in the area where there they charge more money and dilute the drinks. Service gets five stars! Food: The flash fried cracked conch is beyond tender, not greasy and a large portion. The oven roasted shrimp appetizer was plentiful, seasoned well and cooked firm, perfect! Fish dip was smaller and came with crackers and vegetables. While it was not a large portion, it was very tasty. The Tuna ponzu is seared and coated with black sesame seeds and served with a light chili sauce. The portion is enough for two people and it is super tender. Coconut chicken fingers were very tender and full coconut flavor served with a not too sweet honey mustard. Conch chowder is tomato based and wonderful. Dolphin Reuben was grilled and tender. Nothing gourmet, but very good quality. Backyard burger was juicy, cooked as ordered. The fries are crunchy and seasoned well. They do not over salt their food, thank goodness! Décor: Very casual, televisions all over, live music outside. A bit noisy inside, when it is busy. Bottom line: Friendly service, good drinks, good food, casual, catering to locals(in other words, it’s all good and priced nicely)! Glad to have this restaurant in Jupiter:)

I went here yesterday looking for a really good seafood place. My friends on Unilocal pointed me here. The restaurant was very spacious, and the bathroom was VERY clean and well lit. The staff were polite, our server was sweet, and the food came out in a very timely manner. The food– We had the soup of the day which was New England clam chowder. It was decent, lots of clam and overall fairly hearty. It was however a little bland. I had to add salt and pepper, which unfortunately was going to become a trend… Fried shrimp from the kids menu was good. Shrimp and fries cooked to perfection. The fries were actually very tasty and had a nice crunch. I ordered the coconut crusted yellow tail sandwich and red skinned mashed potatoes. The fish sandwich was a special that day. This is where everything went south. Both the sandwich and potatoes were VERY bland. I tried to add as much tartar sauce and lemon as I could to the sandwich… I even put salt and pepper on the sandwich… but to no avail. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection, but were absolutely flavorless. They also weren’t served with anything to enhance the flavor. So I asked my server for some help, she checked with the cook to see if «he had time» to get me some gravy. She came back and offered some gravy for a dollar up-charge. She said it would be some kind of mushroom gravy. Mmmm. When the gravy arrived, it was nothing but some brown gravy, not a mushroom to be found. Overall, I was disappointed. I am not going to give less than three stars. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Maybe I caught them at a bad time? I will probably try them again, and hope for a better experience. I really WANT to give them 4 or 5 stars.
