Currently staying here right now. I decided to write a review seeing how I’ve used pretty much every amenity. It’s so cute!!! Nice sized space, queen bed, sofa, vintage fireplace, kitchen with everything you need and a nice bathroom. It’s honestly pretty perfect for me, I’m here on a snowboarding weekend vacation. It’s within walking distance of restaurants and the general store. It took us about 3 minutes to walk from our cabin to June Lake Brewery. It’s perfectly situated in town. Bed is pretty comfy, sheets and bed spread(which I want to take home with me lol) are clean and warm. Heater works amazingly! Water is warm! They also left us wood for the fireplace which is awesome! Only issue we’ve had so far is that there was no pot big enough enough to cook spaghetti BUT we can always split it into 2 smaller pots. No biggie really. Other than that, the place is amazing! I’ve always stayed here in June during the summer, out by Silver Lake in a tent and this is my first time coming up to board and stay in a cabin and I must say, I am definitely loving this. Oh! I can’t remember who checked us in but she’s so sweet and nice! Would love to come back here.

The Haven is the perfect name for this place! First I want to say the Tonya was completely accommodating and such a nice woman! We informed her we would be getting in late night, so she arranged to have the key waiting for us with directions on parking and a little hand drawn map to lead us to our room. The location is perfect! You are only 2 blocks from everything! General Store, Bait and Tackle store, Bars and Restaurants, the June Lake Brewery and June Lake. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin and it was adorable! It had all the utensils you would need for a cabin stay. Plates, silverware and even utensils for the BBQ on their large patio area overlooking June Lake. They also have an indoor Jacuzzi. Their bathrooms were a tad bit crowded(but I’m a big guy so I find most bathrooms to be that way). Tonya checked us in the following day and gave us a bunch of information about fishing in the area, places to visit, and things to see. The room had a beautiful vintage fireplace and had such a home like feel to it. This place a perfect getaway with beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend The Haven to anyone looking to visit June Lake whether it be for a weekend fishing trip with friends or a romantic getaway.

So I am adamant about not giving 3 star reviews. In my opinion, mediocre does not deserve a pat or a complaint. But here I go anyway… The town of June Lake in November is pretty much shut down, so your choices on lodging is slim. The Haven is located 1 block off of the main drag. We stayed in the queen room with the fireplace. The room was very clean, but lacking in some basic amenities. First; they supplied wood for the fireplace, but no kindling or paper, do you know how hard it is to get a fire going with nothing but a log & a match? Also, I think they need to clean the chimney as it does not have a good draw & the room gets pretty smokey(and yes the flu was open). Oh, and ladies it may look like there is NO electrical plug in the bathroom. I thought this as I did not want to go outside with wet hair as it had been 18 degrees the nite before. But my husband found one… look up at the light fixture above your head! But…in the summer I can see the draw of this location. There is a wonderful very LARGE porch around the front of the building full of big lounging chairs & picnic tables with a view of the mountains & the lake.

I stayed at the Haven with my grilfriend in spring 2012. We were very pleased with our stay. We had one of the smaller rooms with 2 twin beds since we are on a tight budget. They have bigger rooms that cost more. We received friendly, hospitable service from the staff. Heater worked VERY well. Plenty of water pressure in the shower. The Haven is a short walk from June Lake, and in the heart of June Lake the city. You are a short walk to all the bars and restaurants and general store. My only complaint was that the fish cleaning station was dirty. I had to clean it myself. The Haven has an indoor Jacuzzi and a pretty deck that you can sit on with a drink and enjoy the view of the mountains and lake. I will definitely consider returning to the Haven on my next visit. I have also stayed at the Silver Lake Resort. The Resort is more expensive but has better rooms and a great location across from Silver Lake. I can recommend the Haven to anyone. It isn’t the Ritz, it is in the mountains. It is cozy and pretty. At night, lights are lit up throughout the Haven creating a very romantic setting.

We have been to June Lake numerous times. We love staying at The Haven because of the great location and service. It had been a couple of years since our last visit, so we were glad to get away from LA. Of course the rooms are not new, but they are comfortable, cozy & clean. Good water pressure & hot water supply in the showers(a big thing for us). It’s also nice to have the kitchen utensils supplied so we don’t have to bring our own. During summer visits, we love relaxing on the over-sized patio/deck, where we enjoy reading, sun bathing & taking in the views of June Lake & the surrounding mountains. This time we took advantage of the gas barbecue grill on the deck and cued up some hot dogs. That was a nice treat– yumm! All without the hassle of having to bring our own grill(there is also have a charcoal grill with the self-lighting coals if you prefer that style). When we want a casual, relaxing, low-key get away, we go to The Haven. We are looking forward to going back again this year before Fall.

These«cabins» are actually motel rooms in a nice, quiet part of town. Great shared deck that looks out over the village and part of the lake. Our studio was clean and roomy, but shabby and tackily(!) furnished, and had inadequate reading light and minimal kitchen utensils. Ventilation was poor — windows only on front wall and a small fan. Weather was in the high 80s. We did have a screen door which was helpful. Nice kitty cat! Laid back, quiet, safe place.
