Doves and Desperado’s is a group of actors offering a free, live action«skit”/short play three times a day in Julian, on the weekends. The cast really seems to have alot of fun with it. They come across as they are doing it for the fun and history of it, as the show is free, but there is of course a donations jar up front. Some of the jokes and skits are cheesy, but the entire group did a great job. I especially liked that the cast member greeting us as we sat, made a point to ask if they could include our 5year old in a portion of the show. They also took a minute or two at the beginning to talk about firearm safety, using the fact that they use real guns, firing blanks, in some of their skits, but are always safe in doing so, and encouraging the audience and children to treat any sort of gun with respect and caution. I am glad we stuck around to watch the show, it was funny and we all had a great time. I am sure my daughter will be demanding to see the them when we are in town again next!
