This was such a wonderful restaurant. We wound up here by accident, and really enjoyed it. The crispy brussle sprouts that we got with their Unilocal special were amazing. I enjoyed my meal and really liked their local apple cider red wine cocktail. For a last minute show with no reservations, they were exceedingly polite and accommodating. My favorite part of the restaurant was how nice and welcoming everyone was. We truly enjoyed the evening and I’m sure we’ll come back on a future visit to Julian.

This is yet another update from our visit Friday Night 2÷05÷2016 It was supposed to be the Jeremy’s fried chicken tribute to Toms Chicken Shack. We had checked two days earlier to make sure it was still going. Sadly they were putting on a special limited menu wine pairing. We weren’t told that before hand. No Signs, Nothing on their web site. The Lost A Star With Us for changing Set Dinners without notice. After complaining to a young lady that turns out to be Jeremy’s Sister, that we had driven 40min to get there she checked with the kitchen and let us in for one of their Chicken Dinners. Now for the good and bad news of Jeremy’s tribute to Toms Chicken Shack. The Bad. First the dinner was Nothing Like Toms Golden Fried Chicken. Only two pieces of chicken cooked to a burnt black color with your dinner runlike three to four pieces everywhere else. It shouldn’t be called a Chicken Dinner when you only are getting a Half Dinner. Also No Salad or bread Included. Not A Good portrayal of a real fried chicken dinner.(See The Pictures) Now For The Good Part. The Chicken was cooked perfect inside and had very good flavor throughout. Well Seasoned. The Sides Were Very Tasty As Well. Mashed potatoes were a seasoned well. A sautéed red cabbage with a great flavor. A squash and kale veggie also tasty. The Desserts were very good also. For these reasons only I gave back a Star. The Service is still 5 Star however. We will still come back to Jeremy’s now and then for the Gormet Burgers and Garlic Fries. «Fantastic» I Still Wish Jeremy Would Put Out A Real Compleat Fried Chicken Dinner Like Toms Chicken Shack Served.(I grew up eating at toms) Served with soup or salad. Fresh baked Buns. 4 pcs of Golden Fried Chicken. His great mashed potatoes and gravy. And corn on the cob or other veggie. I Can Only Dream.

My friend and I were looking for a cure place to eat & we found this place on Unilocal with the good reviews and free Brussels sprout appetizer for checking in through Unilocal we were sold. It was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the fish of the day fish and chips. The fish was salmon & it was served with fresh garlic fries, AMAZING! a little pricey but definitely worth it :)

This is truly an impressive restaurant that is tucked away in Julian. Exceptional service from everyone, live guitarist, romantic ambiance that is also somewhat hole-in-the-wall-ish in a charming way. Food here is AMAZING. Perfect medium rare steak and even my wife LOVED it(which is shocking since she typically orders medium or medium well). My wife ordered the Holiday special which came with large pieces of scallop on the entrée. We both cleaned up our plates! The Holiday special also had chocolate cake which was decadent and flowed well with the entire meal. I’m looking forward to returning here, hopefully with my wife and mother-in-law the next time we are able to escape SD!

Best burger of my life! Visited Julian to get a few pies. It was so cold waiting in the shade out front of Moms Pies that it turned into an «I want a burger» type situation. Stopped in at Jeremy’s on a whim. Sooooo glad we did. Got the Juicy J burger and hubby got the burgermeister. So flavorful and unique, having pork brisket instead of bacon. The garlic fries were great too. If you’ve got 45 minutes and want a 5 star lunch with great service, go here! (Also, try the seasonal brown beer called snow and tell)

Jeremy’s on the hill was a place we happened to go to by default and so glad we did. A day in Julian led us into the early evening and everything in town was either closed or booked up, so our endeavor to find dinner led us down hill until we found Jeremy’s. Now this place… I don’t mind going out of my way to eat at. Once a house, this family run restaurant serves up «farm to table» fresh local ingredients. The lady that greeted us, who’s name escapes me, was very friendly and accommodating. After a short wait we were seated in a cozy living room setting. The restaurant after all was a house so it has all the coziness you would expect from a home. Our waitress for the evening was Brie(yes, like the cheese). She was an absolute doll. Very sweet and a pleasure to have serving us. We started with the brussel sprouts appetizer. Cooked exactly the way I like it. A bit crispy around the edges with a nice ponzu sauce. Sooo good! For the main course we ordered the Salmon fish and chips. A very nice departure from the regular cod normally used in this dish. I ordered the«Juicy J. A». Seemingly a simple classic that was everything but. Cheddar cheese, bleu cheese, chipotle aioli with avocado butter and apple wood smoked bacon. Can it possibly sound any better than that… and yes it was as good as it sounds. The California Sunshine Burger had a Chipotle Aioli with Avocado Butter and a Pineapple Pico de Gallo and was also very good. If burgers aren’t your thing, they have a menu with a nice selection to choose from. Rack of Lamb, steak and Lobster just to name a few. If you haven’t gone yet, get yourself over there. Just don’t go on the day I want to go cause it can get quite packed… On second thought, DON’T GO! It’s terrible :)

While in Julian yesterday, me and my boyfriend were hungry and couldn’t find much to eat because we are both vegan. We eventually found Jeremy’s and are so happy we did. We informed the wait staff of our diet restrictions and the waitress was so accommodating she explained several dishes that could be made vegan plus she gave us a free order of delicious Brussel sprouts. My boyfriend and I each ordered a tofu quinoa dish with an amazing peanut sauce. The prices were average and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back every time we come to Julian!

We came on a Friday night and didn’t care for Jeremy’s. The service was nice, the food not so much. While the menu describes dishes in mouth-watering detail, the kitchen failed to deliver. The Brussels sprouts were doused in Soy sauce and so salty they were inedible. The schnitzel was burned. The gnocchi was bland. The portions were small and the prices were high. Based on how glowing other reviews are, it’s possible the head chef was off work this night, because I don’t see how the quality of food justifies their prices. Coming back to Julian, I would take my business elsewhere.

Dinning options are very limited in Julian and Jeremy’s on the Hill seemed like an obvious choice for dinner based on all the other Unilocal reviews and star rating. The night we went out for dinner, they had a musician in the corner playing some tunes, which added a nice touch to the ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy, cottagey feel. We tried lobster bisque, mussels and a bison burger. A Unilocal check-in got us a free Brussels Sprouts appetizer! Always a nice bonus. All the food was excellent, but the lobster bisque was a highlight of my dinner, it was a very satisfying dining experience.

We had an awesome experience at this restaurant! I called to make reservations, which they took for our large party. They called the day before to confirm our reservations, and were ready for us when we arrived.(you know how some places are still«getting things ready» or what have you, rude!!) They had several large coloring books available for the kids that kept them very them very busy which was a nice perk. Most places just have menus to color on so this was definitely nice. The waitress was able to answer lots of questions about dietary restrictions we had, and even was able to have the chef create a menu item one person wanted. The prices were decent, everything we ordered was delicious, and every single person at the restaurant was very nice, accommodating, friendly … we will definitely be back.

In the cute picturesque area of Julian and Wynola, Jeremy’s is a standout restaurant. The great thing about the small local town feel is that it’s relaxing and a great getaway for unwinding. Unfortunately this small town feel also comes with early closing hours. In our case all of the local Julian restaurants apparently closed at 5:30 or 6PM. We decided to take to Unilocal to find somewhere to grab a great dinner. Jeremy’s was open until 9PM and the pictures of their menu looked delicious. We arrived at around 8PM and there was a local musician playing requests on the patio. We requested to be seated outdoors and the waitstaff was prompt and friendly. We started our meal with the Ponzu Brussels Sprouts. Personally I love Brussels Sprouts and these were delicious! I did find them a touch salty on certain pieces but in general they were a great way to start our meal. We ended up getting the Bacon Wrapped Bison Meatloaf and the Royal Quinoa Bowl for our entrees. I also added a side of their Garlic Herb Fries. Everything came out fresh and delicious. The quinoa bowl was well made and had an abundance of vegetables. The fried tofu was the perfect compliment to the sweetness of the veggies and quinoa and each tofu piece was perfectly crispy. The Bison Meatloaf was also amazing. Bison is naturally slightly gamey but this meatloaf was done very well and it paired flawlessly with the bacon and fingering potatoes. The fries were also amazing and great for munching on the side. Overall for being a «small town» restaurant, Jeremy’s knocks it out of the park. The food is fresh, well prepared and presented, and the restaurant holds close to «city» hours. What’s not to love?

My husband and I came here for the first time with our 5 month old daughter this past Saturday evening. The place was cute and clean. Service was great. The live guitar music set the ambiance very nicely– we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner out and are looking forward to future trips out to this spot! Move over Julian Pie, make way for Jeremy ’ on the Hill ;-) Thank you for making our experience a very enjoyable one!

An ideal way to spend a morning in Julian: stroll down Main Street, peer into the cute shops, buy an apple crumb pie from Mom’s, and head to Jeremy’s on the Hill for lunch. I love and support the farm-to-table concept here. The quality of the ingredients was ever apparent in The Gloopy Burger(grass fed beef, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions) which I truly believe is one of the best burgers in all of San Diego. True to its name, the burger oozed with juicy flavor and tasty ingredients piled on top. The garlic herb fries were a beautiful addition to the mouthwatering feast. I’d love to come back for dinner sometime, as the entrees listed looked incredible appetizing. Julian is lucky to have such a unique, high quality dining establishment in town!

DAY1 — Friday We made dinner reservations here over the Good Friday /Easter Sunday weekend, for Friday Night. Parking was very easy and it’s only a few minutes out of the main part of Julian, so a quick drive down the road(FYI — if you’re driving and feel others are tailing you and you’re trying to enjoy the scenery or figure out where you’re going, just signal, pull over and let ‘em pass then continue on your way at your own comfortable pace) The place is nice and quaint, no need to dress up per se, but you can if you want it feels like casual dining, but the menu has upscale items priced affordably with no dish I think over $ 30 and most in the sub-$ 20 range I believe. Let me say, generally I don’t like Lamb and have found it to be «Baaaaaddd» most of the time, so feared anything Lamb, Sheep, Mutton or Hogget due to the gamey nature of the way the meat tastes. WELL… we tried Jeremy’s famous Fixed Price Dinner with 4 Courses, which was a surprise, Chef’s Choice, which included LAMB… and I’ll proclaim, a Jeremy’s I’m a LAMBFAN and it was quite delicious, even to the point where I was carving the meat off of the bones and eating ‘em up. I’m not sure if it’s the freshness(from the farm to the table) of the meat or the way it was prepared or the sauces used, and by the way, the sauces used were magnificent, but my prejudice and fear against lamb has been dispelled by Jeremy’s fine execution of preparing that dish. Our meal also came with a nice salad, it had walnuts and a crème brule styled orange slice, where there was a nice hard crispy glazed sugar coating on top, along with cut fruit and a nice dressing. I opted out of the goat cheese, and the staff were very friendly and attentive to my dietary needs making sure the items were to my tastes, desires and needs. The Brussels Sprouts were great, the portion size was huge, enough for 4 – 6 people to share. They were crispy and tasty filled with flavor. The desert was good, I think a passion fruit sorbet with a honey coating on top with some fresh fruit. When asked to pair the meal with a wine, the staff did a wonderful job too! DAY2 — Saturday So, after our fantastic experience at Jeremy’s the night before, mind you we’re visiting Julian from out of town for only 2 days, we decided to enjoy out last meal as we left town back at Jeremy’s for lunch. We had their Bacon Cheese Burger and also a special Ham Sandwich which I forgot the name of, but it felt like it was either on a french toast or some sort of pressed bread that was rather unique in being flavorful, a tad greasy, but not oily, and very tasty. The burger was excellent and was served with Garlic Fries, but done with fresh cut fries and not an overbearing amount of garlic as so many make the mistake of using, so it was perfect. The staff were again, very friendly and food very delicious, with good portions and fair pricing. Parking was easy, as there’s a front lot. If you’re driving down the road trying to find Jeremy’s a reference landmark I can give you is that there’s some sort of Pizza restaurant across the street, so ifyo see a Pizza sign you are here!

We arrived early on a Sunday evening after a few tastings, and everyone was receptive to our extroverted behavior. Lovely classical piano music filled this quaint little restaurant. If you check in with Unilocal, you receive the crispy brussel sprouts ponzu appetizer free. It’s unbelievably good. We had the barbecue lamb, yes it doesn’t sound that great but, it was so tender and hard to comprehend it was lamb as it melted off the bone. Playful waiter with a great sense of humour. I think we got the wrong dessert, the birthday boy got ours, but that’s okay, ours was beautiful and tasty too.
