I was on my way home when I decided I needed some fuel for the trip home and bookmarked this coffee spot. I think I drove past it 3 times before I finally saw the sign. Then finding the actual coffee shop was a slight mission if you’re not a local. It’s located on 29 Palms Hwy but It’s nestled between several businesses, you have to walk between two shops, past some tables, when you see the line for the bathroom make a left. Enter the little door with the big sign. There isn’t much room inside so I browsed the menu quickly, felt a little lost, and asked the gentleman behind the counter to recommend something sweet. He made a great recommendation and I went with it. Now here comes the sole snafu of my perfect coffee experience. After choosing my coffee and grabbing my growing boy a snack, I was ready to pay with my card. I understand that everyone is using the chip on credit and debit cards these days, but my card was wonky and my new card hadn’t arrived in the mail. While the strip still works, the chip no longer does. This business was a card chip reading only place. I had no other cards on me, and I hadn’t stopped for cash. I was ready to cancel my order when two awesome gentleman(with amazing tattoos by the way) stepped up and paid for my order! Talk about kindness!!! What a great experience! I thanked them profusely and he said he could use the good karma and I told him it would be repaid tenfold! Thanks again kind sir! If you’re ever in the area do stop by. The treats are awesome and yummy, made with love and care. They have gluten free and vegan options. The coffee was sublime and made my drive home so much easier.

Everyone here is great, they even gave my daughter some heated organic milk while the grown ups had lattes.

As small as Joshua Tree is, I was not expecting this level of coffee /roasting shop anywhere remotely near the area. I’m glad it’s here, that the staff are awesome and that free Wi-Fi and outdoor seating is available. It was a great way to start every one of my days during a recent trip out there. And they have Nitrogen Coffee! Seriously, if you enjoy coffee and are within a reasonable driving distance, stop in and grab a cup. If you’re not close by, order beans from them.

Really cool spot we stumbled upon while visiting the National Park. The first thing you notice when you walk up is the whole place is surrounded by a beautiful fenced in patio area with many large tables, umbrellas, and plants. A great place to hang out and do some work on your laptop. When you walk inside you can tell these people really care about their coffee. Scales and thermometers everywhere. The couple in front of us ordered some lattes, abd the barista was constantly checking his grind, counting the length of his shots, he had it down to a science. He was very attentative in crafting the perfect drink. We ordered the nitro cold brew(such a great idea! These guys are really thinking about their coffee). I had never seen this anywhere else but it was AMAZING. So smooth and creamy, without adding cream, it really enhanced the flavors of the high quality coffee.

A fantastic spot nestled behind the Yoga studio in Joshua Tree. I spent a handful of days here throughout the winter and was always pleased with my experience. During my last visit, the power throughout town went down, but the gentleman working the shop was kind enough to offer a brewed cup on the house for each person in line. Good people, great coffee, and an excellent setting. Highly recommended.

First impression is it smells delicious in here… It is super tiny inside, but there is a cute patio to sit outside and sip coffee in a courtyard shared with the other businesses. The barista, who was super friendly, suggested I try the nitro cold brew and it was my first time trying a nitro one and definitely best cold brew ever. It was so smooth and almost creamy tasting with nothing added. My only complaint is I wish it was in a bigger cup! We stopped to get coffee on our way to Joshua Tree, best decision and I wish this was a local coffee shop near my hometown.

well, WOW… my wife saw this place on the way to Joshua Tree, we stopped by, its a cute TINY little place… there was no menu posted and we were looking around for what to order. The man behind the counter asked if we wanted cold or hot coffee and when we said cold he said we had to try the nitro cold brew and offered us a small sample… AMAZING! This may be the best coffee I have ever had! We ordered 2 large Nitro Cold Brews… I wish I could get this somewhere close to me! The outside of the place is cute, there was plenty of seating, a super cute little restroom, and everyone was super friendly!

Oh what a gem! I keep on saying that about these places in joshua tree and 29 palms. but this one is FORSURE a gem. I was recently introduced to nitrogenated cold brew back in Virginia. I had never heard of it until then, which was a week prior to visiting Joshua Tree Coffee Company. Then, moving back to California, I read raving reviews about this place, so i made sure i stopped by. The barista/roaster/owner(?) was great! He gave us samples of both cold brew and nitrogenated coffee — both were very smooth. They use Toddy to make their cold brew. The prices for both may catch you off guard, but as soon as you take a sip, you’ll understand why the prices are the way they are. For nitrogenated, the large is 4.00, i believe(16 oz). The cold brew is 3.75 for 16 oz. I could be off by a quarter or fifty cents. They were amazing — both cold brew and nitrogenated. They are organic, fair trade, etc… I am so glad I found a place to buy beans out here, when i’m not in pasadena.

I had their nitro coffee cold brew for $ 4. And it was probably one of the best 12 oz coffee drink I’ve ever had. I definitely enjoyed their setting in their small shop and I really liked their coffee décor. They had amazing service with the coffee coming out in a timely manner and the nitro cold brew had a natural foam that showed up at the top of the drink. I would definitely come back again. Their coffee isn’t as bitter as I expected and has enough caffeine to keep me going for about 5+ hours. So, if you’re about to go on a hike or stay awake for the rest of the day, I would definitely recommend coming here!

Definitely one of best cups of coffee we have EVER had. There was a long line, and it’s not a fast line, but it’s so worth it. Will be ordering their coffee online.

Pretty cute little place, great outdoor seating. If it is nice out and you have time this is a great one to check out. If both of those things(weather and time) are not in your favor, probs skip it. As most of the others said, the place is very small, one employee and a line out the small hallway to the door when we were there. This also makes for the slow moving pace of service. I will say the service was friendly and knowledgeable on coffee. This place also pulls out all the stops when roasting and brewing to get the best cup of joe possible. As far as the seating, it is all outdoors. YAY!(as long as outdoors is where you want to be) There is a nice little area with some tables and even lounge chairs. In the backyard, behind the seating area, there was some kind of odd activity going on… im sure if I would have inquired more and checked it out is might not be too odd– it just looked a little hippy dippy. A group of ppl chilling under a shade tent with some rugs on the ground. who knows they could have been giving massages or aligning chakras…

The roaster is a thing of beauty and the coffee is dark, smooth, and rich without any bitterness at all. Well worth the drive. Check them out on the web at I’ll be buying more than just the pound I got here.

I like coffee. I don’t usually mind where I get it. I think even McDonalds don’t have terribly bad coffee. I’m not discerning, you might say. However, after having coffee here, average coffee won’t be the same again. Plus I got an explanation of how coffee is decaffeinated and I bought a burlap coffee sack for 4 dollars. I’m giving this place five stars for the coffee and because these people know what they’re doing and explain the process and are clearly very involved. Five stars ought denote excellence, not just ‘awesome, I had a really good time and the sun was shining so everything gets a five’. Go here if you’re anywhere nearby.

This place is the business when it comes to good coffee. It is a very unlikely place to get such a great cup of joe but it is a desert gem. Try the nitro cold brew if you like cold coffee. My wife got the latte and it was perfect for me but she added sugar because she like coffee sweet. This stuff gets you pretty wired. Great thing to have on a climbing day. I also bought a bag of coffee to take home and it was amazing with the bialetti. It does take a little longer than your usual starbucks but who gives a f*ck when you get a quality product. If you don’t like strong coffee I suggest the gas station across the street.

No greeting. No service. Worst place I have ever TRIED to get a cup of coffee. How hard is it to greet a customer. The owner or employee doesn’t seem to care about new customers. I’ll never stop here again. The employee did manage to ask the lady in front of me if she wanted a sativa marijuana cookie and then proceeded to take some from the fridge and give them to her. Awesome. All I wanted was a latte.

Personally, I’m not a coffee expert. I’ve grown up drinking my coffee black straight from the pot and«graduated» to the Americano as the logical espresso version of said coffee. That being said, usually when you drink coffee black you get well accustomed to the taste of different brews and learn very quickly what constitutes coffee or just bitter bean water. So with this background I walked into the shop and asked for a midday Americano to spurn on a late and somewhat sleepy morning. Greeted and served by Adam I was immediately impressed by the setup in the shop. This is a quality coffee shop. They roast their own beans and have an awesome graphic detailing the complexity of their brewing process. It’s small but the outdoor seating, as previous reviews have indicated, it’s extensive and well kept up with shade for the desert sun and heaters for it’s cold nights. The coffee itself was excellent. My small group all purchased different cups from lattes to chai tea and we were all greatly impressed by the exceptional taste. Honestly it was one of the best cups I have had, though my experience is limited. Not only was it good, it wasn’t pricey.(16 $ for four separate drinks) As a resident of Yucca I can tell you that this place is now on my radar as a regular stop and I highly recommend it if you’re just passing through or a local as this place will not disappoint.

Really awesome little coffee shop serving up delicious coffee and roasted beans. There’s a really cool outside seating area weather permitting. It’s a really small place so if there’s only a few people there is a little bit of a wait but it’s well worth it. This place is super close to Joshua tree national Park so when my parents were craving coffee we cruised over to buy some grounds for some delicious campfire coffee. The people are super nice we got a cup of coffee that was absolutely delicious and some grounds for making coffee the following morning. I haven’t been any other places in this area but I find it hard to Believe that there’s anywhere that is better.

This place is just about as hipster as you can get, but it’s the best caffeine I’ve ever tasted so I’ll get over it. It’s around the corner from where Google/Apple maps will take you. The entrance is just around the corner from 29 Palms Hwy. Came in during our recent road trip and tried a dry cappuccino(foamed milk with espresso). This was absolutely amazing and we came back for it the second day. It’s insanely cheap at only $ 3.50. At any other hipster coffee shop it’d set you back at least $ 6. We also got a pour over coffee which was great but it takes a while, so try not to order that when there’s a long line. We also got one of those root beer espresso latte things which was fun. We don’t normally get sweet coffee drinks but that one was unique. The coffee was so good that we ended up walking out with 2 bags of beans. Don’t expect a quick experience. These baristas take several minutes per drink which really adds up, even if there’s only a few people in line. No worries though, it’s definitely worth the wait. Plus, there’s really informative infographics to look at while you wait!

This place is definitely for coffee nerds. It’s a small shop but the outdoor seating is plentiful. Was promised the best cup of coffee of my life, and while it wasn’t the BEST, it was pretty damn good and I especially love the knowledge of their trade and the enthusiasm. We were offered a trial of the nitro cold brew while we waited for our coffee to steep. That may have been the best cold coffee I have ever had. So smooth and rich! I almost wish I could bottle that up and take it with me. Definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Note that it’s a little hard to spot from the street– you need to walk through the little alley between buildings and into a courtyard. The storefront is actually in the back of the building.

In the words of Rihanna, «B**ch better have my coffee!» True, I need it iced and black, just like Darth Vader’s soul. Wow, two pop culture references in the first three lines. Seriously though, I love a solid cup of Joe and I found one in Twentynine Palms of all places. On the way to Palm Springs there’s a great little coffee shop right off highway 62 called Joshua Tree Coffee Co. This is a no-frills, caffeine haven that you’ll miss if you blink, I mean there’s no inside seating just an outdoor patio area that they share with a pizza place and yoga studio. The inside of this place is probably the size of large jail cell fully equipped with a massive coffee roaster, piles of coffee beans sacks and beakers of slowly brewing coffee, it’s like something out of a Walter White wet dream sequence. I ordered the iced Americano with organic chocolate milk. Wow, this packed a punch and the chocolate milk wrapped that punch in goose feather pillow. Super smooth with just a little bitter note on the backend. I’ll could have had another two glasses of this, but I think my brain would have shot out my skull and then moonwalked across the dashboard of my car. Traveling coffee snob? Then stop here son!
