The Haven

Treated like family. Excellent staff. Delicious food. Start with fried hot spicy cheese. Don’t worry about calories. Good fish, wings or Reubens. Great hamburgers and fresh cut fries …cold drinks.

Things in the last few years have changed here! This is a bar/​restaurant with a full bar! There is a lot selections on the menu! We usually go for the wings and nachos!
Service is hit or miss! The food is JUNK!!! Last time I came here and ordered wings and 20 mins later I was vomiting in the bath room!!! And I know it wasn’t the 2 bottles of miller light!
They do have delivery service but it’s junk too! A RIDICULOUS amount of time waiting for food!!! We have ordered from them as well and it was crap service with COLD FOOD!!! Worse part was that it was maybe a 3 min drive!!!
You can never really mess up a draft or a bottle of beer!
Only reason I would come here is bc of co-​workers wanting to get a beer after work or whatever! But I will not waste my money here

Food make be good buy the service is questionable! We have been sitting here for ten mins and no one has waited on us!

Great Reuben sandwiches and a friendly atmosphere. A hidden gem! This is better than the average bar food fare.

For a local bar and bar food this is our go to place. From burgers to wings to wraps we love it all. The beer battered fries are our favorite always with ranch dressing. We typically always have the same waitress who is so sweet and friendly. The service is quick unless they are really busy, then you wait.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we rarely go when it’s actually «clean» there is always a lot of tables that need bused and wiped down. However, if you’re in town and looking for something good I highly recommend the haven. We will continue to come back!

The food here is OK. The wings were a bit under cooked and the burger was a little dry. There was also way too much meat vs. topping ratio.

A far cry from what it once was. Pains me to say this but I’ve had my last meal at the Haven unless there are some major changes. This place used to be fantastic years ago but lately has become awful. Had wings and a side salad today and I had to pick the severely brown lettuce pieces out, and the dressing was taco sauce? Could be an honest mistake, but paired with the condition of the salad I would say it is evidence of no attention to the items in general. Next came the wings… ate 3 of them and that was enough. They were slimey, undercooked, and just plain bad. Normally I wouldn’t leave a review based on one bad experience but unfortunately over the last year the 4 times I’ve eaten there have been the same caliber. I miss when this place used to have quality food because it was great, not so much anymore, and the building itself looks dirty and unkept, which I guess makes sense. A place for drinks but be prepared for a hit or miss food experience. Can’t say I would recommend the haven at this time.

Amazing bar food. Huge portions. Great atmosphere and great service.

We ate in the bar area on a weeknight. It worked for three adults and two teenagers. The prices are good and my burger was delicious. It was cooked perfectly, medium-​rare — the portions were significant enough to fill me up. One of our party had the Reuben. It was exceptionally large. This is a point of pride for the Haven. I had a taste and was not disappointed. Of special note is the batter fried cauliflower — everyone at the table shared an order. Next time two orders. The beer selection was just OK — it’s a classic, family-​eat-​in bar with better than average food — which works perfectly for me.

This is absolutely my favorite place for burgers in Johnstown. Nice bar, nice wait staff, always a pleasure.

Good was decent but not sure why someonewho was not on payroll was helping us. Perhaps it is all the. friendly Johnstown people or they were just short staffed on my visit. Wings were pretty decent but not the best ever. Looks like a solid place to go for drinks.
Please allow the men’s room to lock or put up a divider if someone needs to chop a deuce. This is an embarrassment to this place

Awful. Terrible food and some of the worst service in Johnstown. This place used to be great, about 5 years ago. Will never go there again.

Went to The Haven based on a recommendation from my hotel front desk and the reviews on Unilocal.The service was below average, as were the wings and the french dip (both despite other reviews on Unilocal).
I got the feeling this place might be a local favorite, or a good watering hole to grab a beer and watch a game but I would not return for the food.

We have been to the Haven no less than a dozen times. The last time we went will be our last. The service is usually subpar. The waiters and waitresses have always been nice to us, but are clearly overwhelmed. Most seem to wait the entire dining area and wait the bar. The food is hit and miss, but the last few times were really bad. When we first started going there a few years ago the food was consistently good, but over time it seems to be consistently poor quality.
Pros: The beer battered fries are always awesome.
Cons: Understaffed and random quality of food.
I have recommend a few friends to the haven and they had poor experiences there also.
