Hmmm, how do I begin this review… This review is for a Friday/Saturday bar night. This sports bar is pretty big with different areas to hangout. They have the main area is where the main entrance is. Make sure you have around $ 3 to get in if its after 10pm This section has a GIANT big screen tv booths, high tables, bathrooms, and pool tables. The couple of times we have been here was kinds ridiculous with people ¾ deep trying to get drinks. The other section of this bar is the open area outside where they have a fire pit in the cold season and corn hole. They also have a bar out here as well. This section also has a few tables. You are also allowed to smoke out here. The 3rd section is where the dance floor is located. This area is an open area with a DJ area and a decent size dance floor. There is also a bar here as well. It does get really crowded with people dancing and such. Occasionally they do have bands here as well. My wife and I have only been here a couple of times we are not fans. Granted, overtime we go here we have been a little tipsy. The crowd here isn’t the finest around, but great to people watch! We will come here with a group of people, but not on our own. We feel that this bar is for the younger crowd.

Woodside is our favorite restaurant in Johnstown. The food, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. Every manager, bartender, and server we have met has been genuinely concerned about every facet of our experience of being there. Prices are very responsible for«bar» food and the higher $ dinners are worth their price. Excellent rotating selection of top notch craft beers on tap, and many more to choose from in the cooler. Great place for families for lunch and dinner. I would estimate we have been there over 50 times since it opened. We have always had a great dinning experience and would highly recommend Woodside to anyone.

I love the lb of steamed shrimp. Outstanding. That being said this place is just an excuse for the 20something club to drink, fight, and play poor games of pool. Period. Service is crap in my opinion. I’m growing tired of not feeling welcome in an establishment these days and it’s starting to spread it seems. I’m new, I get that, but customers should feel like the buck they are spending is worth it. I should never feel like I’m an inconvenience to the bartender. If I have to yell at you, and be that customer, just to get a drink in a dead bar, something is wrong. So I guess I’m jaded, good shrimp, but steaming isn’t rocket science, ok atmosphere if your looking to roll with your idiot cronies and«pick up chicks». Otherwise, avoid this shit hole.

The place looks great and has a ton of potential! However, they seem to cater to the ghetto fabulous crowd. Staff are very cool and friendly, but the atmosphere sucks.

Rude, rude, rude. Even the owner is an asshole if he doesn’t know you. The service is poor, the food is average and you better be out of there before sunset because it morphs to a ghetto.

Fun place to drink and dance. But as far as food, I suggest if you wanted to eat there to do so during the lunch hour or early evening, more so this is directed towards the weekend. My family and I Tried to eat there one time on a Saturday night and couldn’t even get a waitress to wait on us. Food is ok but pricey for what little you do get

So Woodside Bar and Grill is more Bar and less Grill. Great place to go if you are new to the area like me. I went on a Friday night. No cover if you get there before 10pm. They stop serving the full menu at 10pm. They have fried appetizers till 11pm. I had chicken finger which was good. waitress was amazing. very funny and came to our table a bunch for drinks and food. I talked with about 6 staff members and all were very nice. Then they close at 2am. There are 3 parts to place. A sports bar area with large TV’s, a large out door patio with a bar so people can talk and chain smoke, and a separate building with loud club music so you can dance. This is the ultimate trifecta for everyone in your group. Everyone can split up and do their thing and all have a good time. There are lots of good looking people that come out too so that’s a bonus. It is a great atmosphere and a must if you are in Johnstown for a weekend.

Decided to try this new place after a write up in the local paper. We won’t be listening to the paper again any time soon as this was such a disappointing experience. Waitress didn’t know what they had to drink or anything about the specials; drink reorders(when they bothered to ask) and food(greasy pizza and cold burgers) took forever to arrive; staff complained about pushing tables together to accommodate the group; and, worst of all, when deficiencies where pointed out to management, comments were met with indifference. Could forgive some of the problems based on the«newness» of the joint but, when the excuses consisted of «the owner isn’t in tonight», «the manager isn’t in tonight», and«the head cook isn’t in tonight», we began to wonder if anyone involved in the operation had any experience in the restaurant industry. May be an okay place to watch sporting events as they do own a king sized television but(1) call before you go to be certain the place is still in operation and(2) don’t go with high expectations for anything but the size of the TV screen.
