Matthew’s Party Tattoo Studio

I cannot thank Matthew’s enough. I have been wanting a new tattoo for some time and since I have been in Johnstown more times than not lately I decided to give Matthew’s a try.
The day I arrived I had an idea of what I wanted but it wasn’t set in stone just yet. I wanted lettering done in the old looking typewriter format. I searched their books to find the one that was closest to the format. I found ideally what I wanted and even though I was a walk in, I was in the waiting room within minutes. The size of my tattoo was small, so they were able to fit me in. I appreciate that.
The waiting room is a bit confusing right now. They are in the middle of updating it to make it look less like a waiting room. While you wait you can do the usual and read a magazine or play around on your phone. Or if you like, walk around their taxidermy room. Yes, that’s right, they have a taxidermy room. How awkwardly cool is that? The skulls are pretty awesome, especially the ones that have designs painted on them. Talk about different and one of a kind, this truly is an example of that.
Once back in the chair things went rather smoothly. My anxiety was put at ease at how fast and efficient they work. Everything was done in what seemed like mere minutes to me. This being my eighth tattoo and by far the least complicated and smallest in size. I was very pleased to say the least.
On my way out I stopped and looked at the jewelry they had for piercing and ended up picking up a hemp oil based balm to help with my tattoo.

Great family business with talented artists. I’ve had 3 tattoos by Michael, and one by Zion. All of my kids have tattoos from Michael. I’d recommend this place to anyone! Very clean, friendly and professional.

I had a very nice piece done by Michael Pearson five years ago and I still love it. I want to get a re-​work/​add on piece done sometime soon of some work I got a long time ago at a different shop. I was treated with respect and felt confident through the entire process and plan to get more work from this shop over time.

Michael is amazing! He takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. I have gotten all eight of my tattoos from him and have never been disappointed! Clean environment. Lots of flash boards for ideas and love his fish tank and taxidermy. People say he is expensive but I say with a tattoo you get what you pay for!!! I will pay more for a quality tattoo that will last me a life time!!!

Great shop. Work is top notch and prices are reasonable. Clean environment. Never been disappointed with any work I’ve got done here.
