Like almost all causal chains, Ground Round has a huge menu that covers all the bases, and has something on there for everyone. Whether all of it is good is questionable, but our dishes weren’t terrible. My buddy and I both got the chicken fajitas. They came to the table piping hot. The chicken was tender and I was pleased it was charred in spots. It had a good amount of peppers and onion on the little cast iron plate they serve it in, and the veggies appeared fresh. It’s served with a fried tortilla boat on the side filled to the brim with way too much cheap looking shredded cheese, a bland pico de gallo, and shredded romaine. It also comes with a small cup of salsa, and a cup of spicy sour cream. Plus a container of warmed flour tortillas, of course. Whew. That’s a lot of stuff. The chicken and sauteed veggies were the best part and I ate all of that, the accompaniments were very average and not worth the time, though I did like the spicy sour cream. I didn’t try my brother’s steak tips. He said liked them. The steamed broccoli he ordered as a side looked crisp and were bright green. The gravy on his mashed looked like it came out of a jar. The restaurant for the most part looked clean. Our booth had a big tear in the seat. Our server was great. I’ll give Ground Round 3 «A-OK» stars. Based on my, and my companions meals, the food is about on par with other inexpensive casual chains like Ruby Tuesday, TGI Fridays, or Applebees, and if you go in knowing you’ll get average tasting, typical chain fare, you’ll be ok. Just keep your expectations in check.

Came here with a bunch of friends and were seated quickly as we had a reservation. The place was clean, the hostess was friendly and so was our waiter. Our drink orders were taken promptly and the waiter waited while we all looked over the menu and waited for one more in our company to arrive. Once everyone had made an order, we munched on the popcorn while waiting for the Triple Sampler(potato skins, chicken tenderloins(buffalo or plain) and mozzarella cheese sticks) to arrive. The potato skins had pieces of bacon, melted cheese, and sour cream which I happened to not try, but they were gobbled up by my friends. The chicken tenderloins were juicy on the inside, crunchy breading on the outside, and not over cooked. The mozzarella sticks were full of melted stringy goodness with a good mix of seasoned fried breading on the outside. For the main course I ordered the Texan Tangler Flatbread Pizza(grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, diced red onions and tomatoes all topped with BBQ sauce, ranch dressing and onion tanglers). The crust on the flatbread pizza was thin and crispy, the cheese was gooey, but in my opinion there was way too much BBQ sauce. I had considered ordering the BBQ sauce on the side and I wish I had as I ended up taking napkins to wipe some of the BBQ sauce off the flatbread pizza so that it wouldn’t overpower everything else on the pizza. I definitely would have enjoyed this pizza more had the BBQ sauce was served on the side along with the onion tanglers as the taste completed with the grilled chicken and onion. I thought my stomach was done, but before I knew it I was pressured into ordering dessert, I know, I know not the worst thing to be pressured into so I caved in. I ordered the Big Ben Brownie Sundae(double dark brownie topped with ice cream, chopped pecans, hot fudge, caramel and whipped cream). The sundae was pilled high with whipped cream and topping and there were 4 brownies in the actual sundae. As I spooned the first bite I noticed that it was a bit tougher than I thought it should be to cut the brownie with my spoon. As I chewed my spoon of dessert deliciousness I realized why, it was either the end of the brownie and thus crustier than the other brownies or it was reheated too much and formed a crust on the outside as a result. I moved on with the other brownies and it was a lot easier to cut with my spoon, no crust detected. Overall it was an average meal, maybe next time I come I will order a burger instead and avoid the overtopped pizza.

From the busboy wiping his nose while setting tables to the half-cooked burger(only raw on outside edges? Do they grill or microwave them?) to the server whose response was ‘I wish I’d come back to check on you, I could have had them fix it.’, this place is a big fat disaster.

The bartenders here are AWFUL. It’s hard to even call them bartenders because half the time they’re not even behind the bar. You had one job… tend the bar… bartender — get it? The only thing that saves this place is that it has good Happy Hour deals with drinks and food. They also have quickdraw.

In comparison to the Ground Round we had in Maine, this one was disappointing but still not bad. The portions were smaller, things were seasoned differently, the buns was toasted wheat instead of bruschetta. It was just mediocre.

I like this restaurant… it’s pretty good! the bottom line is that we have never had a bad meal there and it’s always been good… the service can be a little iffy at times but the price is very doable.

Came here when I was on a business trip in Binghamton. The happy hour drink prices were great. Food wasn’t bad either. On par with Apple Bee’s or TGI Fridays. I would recommend mainly for happy hour.

Found is really good! Haven’t been disappointed once and normally service is pretty quick :) I deducted one star because sometimes the staff isn’t really friendly!

Good food and beer selection for a franchise restaurant. Service here is above average as well.

First time at a Ground Round after years spent living by the Ground Round Rotary in Massachusetts(the restaurant closed just before I got there). I’m pretty impressed with this chain. Since they’re obviously about the ground beef(based on the name anyway), I went with a burger for lunch, specifically the 1 lb version(with cheese, bacon, even onion rings on top! everything I like for just $ 12!). I got to order it to my doneness(ordered AND arrived medium rare), got a soup for the side for just 99 cents more, and when I tried my friend’s fry, it was also very good. Things I’m not sold on: Beer selection, mostly generic national brands with only one rotating local brew(Southern Tier IPA, but I don’t like IPA). Desserts seem on the small side, though I would really have to get one to judge. Possibly appetizers/sides as well, although the burger(especially the one I ordered) was definitely the right size. At least this location, there’s an odd atmosphere — lots of random nooks and small demi-rooms, and the bar is right in the middle of the eating space. The layout could definitely be improved. Worth another shot, definitely. Although I don’t eat at chains much, this is on the short list of acceptable ones.

My husband and I had a pretty hard time trying to figure out where we wanted to eat tonight and after checking out Ground Round’s menu online we decided that it sounded pretty good. I was particularly excited about the chimichanga. We ordered drinks and was brought a small basket of popcorn, which was good. My husband ordered French onion soup which was very good. He also got the PBR burger that was also very good. I ordered the chimi of course and it was fantastic. Fried perfectly and the filling(chicken) was delicious. It came with seasoned sour cream which was really good as well. It was a chimi Deadpool could be proud of! It wasn’t too busy and our server was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and tasted great!

We decided to eat dinner here after a day of travelling. Service was good, found that part of the meal was cold once we got it(French fries) but over all was satisfied with meal. Not a bad place and waitress was very friendly.

I remember Ground Round being in the area when I was growing up so when they opened in Johnson City I was excited. I have been here a few times and the food has been ok each time, Ive had a couple visits that had slow service, but the servers are likely overworked with to many tables going at once and I am sure they are doing the best they can. I like the food and will be back. It doesnt get five stars b/c it is a chain and a bit on the more expensive side of chain restaurants.

I have been meaning to stop by the Ground Round for months. I used to go to Ground Rounds with my family when I was a kid. Glad I made it back! Great food and good service. Clean facilities and nice atmosphere. Loved my burger and it was buy one get one free Monday, even better!

A kinda hit and miss place. I’m not a meat eater so the chef did agree to accommodate my order. The bar is the best place to be if you’re here for bar~food. Good happy hour appetizers and prices on alcohol.

The worst restaurant we’ve eaten at in years. Truly horrible ambiance. Louder than a Nascar race. Truly a last resort for the desperately hungry. Avoid at all costs!

WARNING: There are virtually NO vegetarian options here!!! The good points here are, they offered us free popcorn which was the most buttery, delicious popcorn I’ve EVER had. I could NOT keep my hands off it! The menu at large was troubling: there was almost nothing I could eat, but I settled on a shrimp dish(whoops, guess I’m not kosher anymore) with pasta that came with a sauce that was so runny, it was almost a soup. Oh, but it was delicious, and I loved that they offered smaller portions of some entrees for a slightly lower price. Their dessert menu, however, is AMAZING. We ordered fried ice cream and fried cheesecake and they were both sooo delicious. The fried cheesecake is NOT to be missed — bite-sized cubes of cheesecake in a crunchy, coconut batter, served in a raspberry soup with a dollop of ice cream and whipped cream, all drizzled with hot fudge sauce. I wanted to drink the raspberry juice right out of the bowl! If you want my advice, come here for drinks and dessert. The rest of what they have to offer is good, but runs a tad expensive, and if you’re a kosher vegetarian, fuggedaboudit.
