We loved the place, the food, the atmosphere! and the service was excellent! I think it’s a nice place for special occasions, and this place is certainly not overpriced. I would like to thank everyone who helped us celebrate my niece’s birthday the other day!

I’ve been here a few times with my family for special occasion dinners. I am never fully used to how professional and friendly the staff is. Our server the last time we went was very friendly and polite and explained the menu and daily specials to us from memory. I thought it was very nice and well-trained of her to do that for us. Everytime I come here, I want to eat 5 baskets of their bread– that is how delicious it is! And this time around, we ordered a daily special clam appetizer which was delicious and the clams were very fresh. I ordered the Frederico’s Braciole as my main dish and it was so delicious! The meat was very tender and juicy and the dates were a suprisingly nice taste. I feel like food at Sugo is always treated with the utmost care and I appreciate that so much. My mom got the classic Spagetti and Meatballs and she absolutely loved it. The meatballs were huge! About the size of my fist. My dad got the Hanger Steak and he throughly enjoyed his dish as well. The quality of their meats and vegetables is worth coming back everytime. My sister ordered the salmon and she was in shock of how delicious it was. I think it was one of the best salmon dishes she’s ever had. We also ordered their tiramisu for dessert and it was divine. Overall our experience was amazing here. Nice, local restaurant that uses the best ingredients and trains their staff so well. Also on a side note, the special occasions I’ve been here have all been birthdays, and everytime the staff of Sugo has presented me or my family with a birthday card signed by every member of the staff which we appreciated so much. Truly a classy, top-notch restaruant that serves great food!

Best salmon i think I’ve ever had. I’m a quasi pescatarian so I’ve had my fair share of salmon. It is wild caught, never frozen, and on the table within three days and boy, can you tell. It was delightful. My friend had Aunt Lena’s chicken and it too was very good. For the antipasta we shared the chicken croquette and the spanakopita. Both were extremely tasty. I left very impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Will definitely be back. Bön appetit

The food here is delicious! It’s probably the best Italian restaurant in the area. I got the shrimp scampi. The shrimp arrived on a bed of pasta mixed with tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms. They were plump and cooked to perfection with garlic and lemon butter sauce. The spanikopita was flakey on the outside and bursting with spinach and ricotta on the inside. It is a family owned restaurant, and they really care about your dining experience. The ambiance is romantic, with an average noise level. Next time, I will bring Pookie.

If half-stars were available, I’d be willing to go to 4.5 for Sugo. We had considered dining her occasionally, but for various reasons it always seemed to place 2nd in the ‘where to eat’ discussion, so we had never tried it before. We ended up wanting to change an existing reservations for Valentine’s Day early *on* V-day, and Sugo was the only place with any remaining flexibility. I suspect this was due to their usually not being open on Sundays, but they had a special opening just for V-day. We were happy, anyway. Sugo is located at the rear of a strip mall on 141, and adjoining the gated St. Ives community. Parking near the restaurant entrance is limited as it is a small rear lot, so you may well need to park up front and walk the 100 yards. That wasn’t a big issue except that it was quite chilly that day. The restaurant was quite busy, but we were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. The ambiance was upscale /classy. I had their lasagna, which was highly recommended(and good); my wife had fish. Dessert was also good. The bill including tip was in the $ 125 range, I think, so this is definitely a special-occasion place(for us). I would consider going back for some future occasion.

We’ve been here twice and have absolutely loved the ambiance, service, and food! The bacon wrapped dates were a delicious starter and the meatball is one of the best I have ever had. The meatball alone is worth going for! My friends tried the lasagna– but it was massive it almost looked family style. You could share it with one or two other people. The filet steak was amazing and the eggplant Parmesan was too, nice and crispy. We love this place!

Went here for a friends birthday dinner over the weekend. We had a reservation for 25 but, as is prone to happen with young adults, half of them cancelled. The manager didn’t like that the big room was only half full and was kind of loud and rude about moving us somewhere else. Other than that, the food was amazing, the drinks were well made and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect. Our servers were also very attentive and generally awesome.

Great place. Went here after a conference with colleagues. Food is excellent, service amazing, and the atmosphere is intimate. Perfect for dates and getting to know one another. The owner is great as well.

My wife and I moved to Suwanee in 2014. She had an idea one of the first months we were there to go out to Sugo and eat. So we go on a Friday in September 2014, sit down in one of the most intimate low light settings and proceed to view the menu. We could not even get past the appetizers. We ordered the meatball, the bacon wrapped dates, the lamb crustini, and the spanakopita. Since then we have been there at least once a month to do just that. We now have added Bacon Wrapped dates as our dessert, because it is just one of the best things I have tasted in my 34 years on this planet. Table 27 became our favorite table to request when making a reservation. Angela is our favorite Server. The bartenders gave me their ginger beer recipe even. Just a great place with great people. So fast forward to to Friday 2÷12÷2016. We arrive after making our reservation and things seemed off, they were busy, Mr. and Mrs. C were looking a little frantic, which is common because I believe they genuinely care about their customers and the restaurant’s reputation. We had requested our table and were disappointed to be seated in the middle of a doorway between 2 huge parties. Only because I have been working out of town and with 3 kids talking is at a minimum during the week. It’s ok we know the food is going to be amazing and my wife has her sights set on the Scallops Piccata. While I could not decide, I ended up with Aunt Lena’s chicken. After the meatball and bacon wrapped dates of course. We were disappointed that not only were we unable to get our table but we were treated as though we had never been there. So while eating our tapas and discussing the need to try more places Mr. C accompanying Angela, comes and says that he knows we are disappointed with the seating and proceeds to hand us a bottle of wine picked to go with our meals. We never mentioned anything other than to each other about the seating or anything else, so while we are still trying to figure out how they knew, we are grateful for this gesture and we will be continuing to go there at least a month(we really don’t go anywhere else). I recommend this place to anyone and everyone as a great place. The Castellucci family are great people and they run a great bunch of restaurants. Mr. and Mrs. C will always come around to to say hi and thank you for coming to their restaurant. You really do feel welcome and the food is outstanding. So Thank you Mr. C for everything you did Friday and we’ll see you soon. If you want a great laugh look at LaToya S.‘s review on 1÷29÷2016, has to be satire.

This was my first night and it was packed in Saturday. Plenty of parking in front and back Ofthe building. The waiting are is small and we were seated immediately for our 7:30 reservations. Overall the food was good not superior but good. The service was kind and polite and the owners presences is at each table was a good touch, compared to chains where you have no owners and only managers who don’t treat it like their own. Courses took a little longer than I care for and we ended up being there 3 hours for dinner. Ambience was nice and tastefully done and comfortable. I would go back and bring someone new.

I went here for free, and it is much fancier than anywhere I have ever been! So, I decided it was nice, there would be free food, and I went. I really don’t think it was anything to write home about. The canoli was good, the ravioli was Ok. The bread was hard, and made me wish I was at Red Lobster eating their biscuits. The Ferris Wheel was all right; it had too much vodka. The cheesecake square, again, made me appreciate Red Lobster so much more.(Cheesecake is not even from Italy!). It didn’t help that the tall male waiter came off as a condescending douche. The little blonde haired waitress was cheery, and very nice. After it was over, I thanked my boss, and even touched her on the arm to make it seem genuine. Maybe free food isn’t worth being stuck in a room with co-workers whom I don’t care to share my life details with. It may be that I am biased against Italian food; spaghetti and pizza being the only Italian staples in my diet.(Ok, ok and canoli). Overall, I might give it another chance in the future, but I don’t see anything to get excited about so far…2/5

Probably one of the best restaurants in the region. We went here with cousins for the new years dinner yesterday and in spite of being vegetarians, the chefs served some wonderful portions. Very personalized and wholehearted service!

Visited: 12/12/2015 Visited for my first time and since it was the holidays… it was so busy and packed that there was no seating inside. Luckily, there was seating in their outdoor seating area. Though, I admit that I was a bit chilly and didn’t really enjoy the view of the parking lot. They have quite a selection of food that I will hopefully try again in the future. I really enjoyed my scallops since they were quite delicious!

A restaurant that allows to bring your fur baby along to dinner, has my business! It’s so refreshing to have such a place around my house. They offer doggie treats, & water bowls… So just like they take care of you they also take care of your pup! Major plus! The food amazing! I love the chicken croquettes as an appetizer! The drinks are also delicious! Tonight they had movie at the patio with your pet. The chef made special meatballs for the dogs, which they loved! The service is outstanding, definitely recommend this place! It’s become one of my favorites!

No changes to the quality part of the review, but the menu here it continually improving. Last night, we celebrated my birthday and tried two new specials; 7-oz filet with caramelized pearl onions, roasted potatoes, tomatoes & leeks, red pepper purée and cherry bordelaise reduction. Wow. The only thing that best it was my seared halibut with couscous and saffron cream sauce. It’s the best meal I’ve ever eaten at Sugo. Hats off to you guys…

I dined here for Gwinnett Restaurant Week. We ended up enjoying the appetizers so much more than our overpriced entrees. I highly recommend the grilled cheese, the asparagus and musbroom, and the flat bread. We ate shrimp pasta, the halibut, and the pork. All were average in taste and presentation. We did receive a amazing service from the hostess and the server.

Met some friends here for dinner and was very pleased. Good service, good food, management and the owner were all over and making sure people were happy. We started with the bacon wrapped figs. Not your norm, very small but nice presentation and very tasty. I got the steak everyone was ranting about rare and it was quite good. My friends got the Halibut and a chicken dish that were all very good. What I liked was the dark, low lit rooms making a quiet very pleasant evening. Good mixologist and priced well. Really enjoyed the night.

I came here for a dinner with clients based in Duluth. I’m half Greek so was delighted to hear that we were going to a Greek/Italian fusion spot. The restaurant is tucked away behind a strip mall shopping center. But once you find it, it feels private and cozy. We sat in the back in a big private room with about 12 people. Ordered a bunch of appetizers(caprese salad, bacon wrapped dates, their famous meatballs, spanikopita). Everything was great. My favorites were the dates and spanikopita. The host came and greeted us, told us about the restaurant and recommended their famous meatballs. Apparently they’ve been on the food network before… Our waitress was very knowledgable and friendly. We were all stuffed after appetizers and grazed at our entrees. But the real treat was the chocolate cake. We ordered one piece and slivered off a bit around the table and STILL had some leftover. It was a big piece but sooo amazing. I would come back just for the cake :)

This was my third visit to Sugo, but this was my first time in over a year. Apparently, they’ve become very popular since my last visit. We had an 8pm reservation and still had to wait about half an hour beyond our reservation time. There was a private group in that took up half the seating and, apparently, that had not been accounted for. The issue with the reservation is the only reason that I didn’t give this restaurant a 5 star rating. Once we got to our table, everything was top notch! I had the special which was a 14oz. Veal Chop. It was prepared to perfection. It came with roasted shiitake mushrooms and spinach and was served on a thick cutting board. Excellent presentation!!! This was a phenomenal dish. My wife had the scallops which looked extraordinary and, according to her, tasted just as good as they looked. In spite of the issue with the reservation, we’ll definitely return to Sugo.
