Been passing these guys all the time since I moved to Jersey City and vowed to try something. Was not disappointed. Fresh food, great quality pitas(I’m from the UK so I’ve seen the best and worst…), friendly service and they even pronounced my name correctly. Crackin’!

Love the falafal pita at this truck stop! Was hesitant to eat from a truck but these guys have totally changed my perspective — great quality Mediterranean!

This little green truck is awesome! I work in downtown Newark and it comes by a couple times a week at 12 pm. If I’m in the mood for falafel or their fries, I get upset if I don’t see the truck outside. For $ 5 you can’t beat this huge, yummy falafel sandwich… Yummy! My friend was waiting kinda long for her lamb pita and they gave her an ice tea on the house. Nice guys! They also take cards, which is unusual for a truck and great!

How, how, HOW have I not reviewed Two pitas yet??? I’m sorry, boys, I’ll never let you down again. Hands down, best falafel I’ve ever had. PERIOD. I can’t even describe how wonderful it is; words actually escape me and I simply start to drool when I think about their falafel. And for all this marvelousness, it’s still a great bargain. Highly recommend the platters, for about $ 9 you get the fantastic falafel and your choice of 3 equally drool-worthy sides. Don’t forget the white bean hummus! You’ll knock over little old ladies just to get a taste. On a side note(soapbox), shame on you Jersey city for banning the food trucks. You let Snookie and JWoww in, yet keep some of the best food in the area out. Priorities, people!

I’m always excited when I see the bright green Pod Truck in Downtown Newark! They have never. ever. ever let me down. Today, I bought their special(pork kefta BLT). It was an explosion of goodness in my mouth. Sundried tomato pesto? Yep! they put that in as the ‘T’ in their BLT. I have tried their whole menu(the Falafel, the Lemon Coriander Chicken and the Lamb) and I keep coming back to them. I can’t rave enough about them. When my friends invite ME to lunch, I take THEM to the Pod! LOL. I consider them gourmet Mediterranean food and don’t mind paying the $ 8 – 12 for a sandwich or a platter because I know that they use great ingredients and have wonderful flavor. The guys are always friendly and take the time to listen to suggestions. I heart them. I heart them a lot! Good job and keep up the great work.

For a vegetarian I must admit the choices are limited. But the falafel platter and sandwich are very worth eating on a regular basis. After twitting the Two Pitas, they have added the Mediterranean Grill Cheese Sandwich special. Wow, was that delicious. Perfectly grilled pita with mozzarella, eggplant and red peppers. The platter comes with sides — all veggies and all great. You can call ahead and pick-up. There is only good to say about my Pita guys!

While I still stand by my old review, I feel compelled to write an update and bump these guys from 4 stars to the ultimate 5 star rating. Why? Because they deserve it, not only for their delicious food(see old review) but also for their customer service. They are super friendly and aim to please. I Unilocaled and tweeted about my love for the Ancho Chile Braised Chicken special and voila! they promised me they’d offer the special soon. Well, last night they made good on the promise and the special pita was even more delicious than I remembered. Bottom line: you’d be a fool not to give Two Pitas in a Pod a try… and Food Network would be an even bigger fool not to have them on next Great Food Truck Race.

Fresh, friendly, and creative. These guys are good. They take authentic Mediterranean and give it their own twist. There’s a reason they were a Vendy finalist. I’ve spent the past two years diligently studying food trucks and these guys are a part of the elite. The bahn mi is stupid good and their fries are like crack. Do yourself a favor and drop by this truck… it’s bright green so you can’t miss it!

You want tasty food from friendly guys who care about what they’re serving? Are you in Hoboken, Jersey City, or(upon occasion) in Manhattan? Above all is the braised pork sandwich. SOMUCHDELICIOUS, TENDERPORK. If you can get the truffle burger special, do it. Falafel is substantial. The chicken is from a local farm, and if you like coriander and a bit of sweetness, eat it up. Sides are great, with my favorite being the beets. Fries are enough to share with your friends, or newly found friends made while waiting for your order to come up. Please don’t let the gourmet lunch truck trend die anytime soon.

Went back for the Falafel sandwich, perfectly fried, extremely tasty. The sauces was very rich. For a vegetarian dish, this sandwich is extremely flavorful and filling

I will preface this by saying that I am a hummus snob and eat quite a bit of hummus and Mediterranean style foods. I ordered the falafel platter. I loved the Israeli salad, curried carrots and dill zucchini. The falafel was alright– not bad, not amazing– but good. The white bean hummus was ok but I’ve bought better hummus at the grocery store. I was very disappointed with the pita. It was the most white bread American style pita I have ever had. It was thick, doughy and more like circular bread than pita. How could you call it «Two Pitas in a Pod» and have mediocre pita? Lame. Also, I stood right in front of the truck waiting for my food for 15 minutes. My food had been sitting on the counter in the truck for a while and the guy never called my name or told me my food was done. Wtf.

Love these guys and their food. Their falafel platter is always diverse, nourishing, fresh and always has different tasty vegetable /grain sides. Their truffled fries are nummmmmy! These loose a star for not being 100% vegan(come on guys… you know you want to make the switch!!!). Really great stuff, made by a buncha clowns. Read their twitter feed, its hilarious.

Finally tried this truck the other night and I’m so glad I did! Fabulous falafel sandwich … probably the best I’ve had in the Jersey City area(sorry, Ibby’s). Lots of bang for your buck too … the sandwich was enormous and only $ 5.50. I also had an order of the frites with the garlic and chipotle aiolis — the fries were just crispy and salty enough for my tastes, and the aiolis added some extra punch. I will definitely grab a quick dinner from here again.

Yes! Finally good falafel in this part of town. And it’s so nice to have another tasty food truck right on the water. I tried the falafel sandwich and pod fries, both of which were great. All of the ingredients were fresh, making the price a great value. The guys are friendly, the truck’s locations are pretty reliable on a week-to-week basis and it’s easy to follow along on twitter. Will definitely continue to follow them and will be back to try more of their tasty food.

Organic, free range chicken from a truck? YES! I loved the lemon chicken skewer. And they grill the pitas too so they don’t get so soggy.

Fantastic. Tasty, creative, healthy and great value. The Two Pitas consistently deliver fabulous wholesome meals with a middle eastern twist from their cool bright green truck. I have tried most of the items on their menu, and have found them all to be excellent. The Pitas often have interesting specials that add an extra dimension to the menu like their Banh Mih inspired sandwich which is excellent. More recently they are doing a Carnitas inspired pita which is also very good. Try Two Pitas if you haven’t already. A great new gourmet truck arrival in Hoboken which makes the food scene more dynamic and interesting. Thanks guys. Cheers!

I had the lamb kefta kabob platter($ 12) today. Everything that came with the platter — lamb patties, tzatziki, pita, sides of chutney and israeli salad — was really really tasty! The portion size was good as well. I was a bit hesitant to try two pitas because their price point is a bit high. At lunchtime I can get a $ 6-$ 7 lunch special from tons of places. That said, the portion size and high quality made the extra money spent worth it. I’m looking forward to trying the fries, falafel and chicken skewer in the future.

Being a lover of the local food truck scene I was thrilled to see the bright green«Two Pitas in a Pod» truck show up in Hoboken this sunny Saturday afternoon! This is a beautiful brand new«SuperTruck» serving a unique — modern take in traditional Mediterranean food. The«Two Pita» truck is in a «soft open» stage so they can get the kinks out — but for me on my first visit everything was AWESOME! The falafel sandwich was one of the best I ever had — totally fresh and jammed with not only the essentials(perfectly spiced balls of chickpeas and crispy veggies) but also fresh humus and pickled cabbage, cucumber and chimichurri. «Two Pitas in a Pod» also has Lemon Coriander Chicken(which was super tasty but I only had a bite of a friends platter) Red Wine Pork and Lamb Kefta. There is also a dozen items on their«topping bar» menu. The really prizewinning menu item for me was the«Pod Frites» a super tasty mix of perfect fries tossed with feta garlic and parsley — which for me could be a great meal by itself !!! «Two Pitas in a Pod» is just starting to ramp up and this initial visit was both fun(Anthos the guy upfront at the window was very upbeat and excited about his food) and excellent in every way. «Two Pitas in a Pod» is a modern boutique food truck which is right from the start giving customers food as good as you can get anywhere with a unique«new fusion» take on «PITA». I will post some pictures and a more extensive review on my blog
