Santa Maria Restaurant and Brick Oven Pizzeria

I really want to like this place more. Food is consistently decent (I usually get the falafel), but nothing particularly special. Service is always friendly and professional, but slooooow. The seating area is huge; they could turn this into something more like a regular sit-​down restaurant. As it is they just have a cavernous room with some thrown-​together seats and it’s not very inviting.

A few times I ‘ve had undercooked pizza dough from the $ 1 slices. But, can’t complain when you’re starving and broke. Their pepperoni slices are cool. She sprinkled more mozzerella cheese on top of the pepperonis.

This place sucks, food came to us cold, the sauce was stale, I called for a refund and the manager told me to «go fuck yourself». Rude and disrespectful, my wife and I will never order from here again

I’m pretty happy with the delivery. It came 5 minutes before it was scheduled to and was warm and juicy.
I ordered a pizza and gave special instructions and those were followed to perfection.
And the mozzarella sticks were awesome!
The lady that delivered was very nice too.
I give 4 stars just for crust that wasn’t really crunchy but the pizza was delicious!
I’ll be ordering again!

Food takes forever (90 mins) for delivery and arrives ice cold. Restaurant screams at you when you check on delivery status.

this place is horrible. pizza has no taste. stale crust. no sauce. fries suck. wings suck. half chicken platter sucks.

I ordered from here while at work. I’ve never ordered from out and figured I’d try something new. I got pasta and a tea. The food was GREAT minus how long it took for the delivery. My reasoning for this was the delivery girl didn’t speak English. That’s understandable but this is a business your delivery person should know English or at the very least have a cellphone to call the customer if she’s lost. The food was pretty good but I will only do takeout if I get food from here again.

Today was my first time ordering from Santa Maria’s restaurant. A very nice lady answered the phone, took my order and told my the price. The lady told me that it would take about 45 minutes. Well about 15 to 20 minutes into my order, the lady called back and stated where I lived was too far but she would honor the delivery. The delivery was made as the lady told me and my mom and I breakfast was excellent. The food was very tasty and the price for what we had was great. The delivery person was equally as nice. If Santa Marie’s is willing to deliver to me again, I would definitely order again. I would even go in to pick up as well. If you have not try their breakfast, please do. Cant wait to try the rest of their menu!!! Thank you for delivering a great breakfast!!!

Hands down, the BEST baklava (and I’ve been lucky enough to travel to the middle east for some legit ones). Pizza was ok but and I hear their gyrosbare good. My 5 stars are only for the baklava since that’s all i can speak to!

One of the best restaurants in the neighbourhood! Love their lamb chop, gyro, split pea soup, lentil soup, sandwiches, etc.

They have Egyptian food and American too but the best taste to try is the Egyptian food try the meat or chicken or even molokhya you will never stop eating there

Delivery is EXTREMELY slow took them about a hour and a half to bring our food and we are literally around the corner. Food was lack luster, and nothing to write, text, email home about… you get my drift. The rice pudding is very good tho.

Here are the food I’ve tried and my points (out of 5 points):
Roll with Peanut Butter and Jelly 3.0
Bagel with Peanut Butter & Jelly 3.5 (Cinnamon Raisin Bagel) — Bagel is thinner so it’s better to me.
Pizza Breakfast (with Spanish Omelet) 3.5 — Delicious. But after I got the two slices of pizza from delivery, the two slices stick to each other «face to face» already…
Potato & Egg Sandwich 3.5 — This is great and still hot after delivery, while the pizza is already luke warm.
Baklava 3.0 — This middle eastern dessert is nice and aromatic.
Basbousa 2.5 — This middle eastern cake is mediocre.
Knafe 2.5 — This middle eastern dessert is too oily for me. It’s like fried thinest noodle with lots of oil and sugar.
In all, the food is 3-​star. The delivery took 1 and a half hour (from 4:30pm — 6:00pm). But the price is very cheap and reasonable for this kind of food.

I’m always on the lookout for GOOD 99cents pizza places and I gotta say this place has won the race (at least in my Journal Square neighborhood). Their pizza is not too greasy or too dry — it’s just right!
It’s a pretty spacious place, and has a warm atmosphere (perhaps because of the oven? lol). The owners are also really nice! I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This is the worst… I ordered at 5:30ish for delivery (I’m 4 blocks away). They delivered the food over an over later and it was cold… and my pizza was not cooked properly. Omg… how do you ruin wins?! The wings were dry and tasteless… Never again will I order from here… if I could give negative 5 stars I would… tasteless…just the worst.

I ordered a BLT JC tower. In other words, a BLT double decker. It was delicious. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and the bacon was crispy, and just enough ‘extra’ mayo. I know, why am I raving about a BLT?! There’s more!
My boyfriend’s California bacon burger looked like it was actually grilled, on a grill, from an actual meat patty, not just a pre-​frozen patty. He said it was well-​seasoned and the burger was dressed well with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and onions.
This place wins my crispy-​fry obsession. If you’ve read my past (bad) reviews, I’ve always complained about soggy fries. I specified via seamless that I wanted crispy, well-​done fries and they delivered. This place is doing something right!
Lastly, the desserts. My lord. We shared a rice pudding and baklava, both $ 1.50 each! The rice pudding tasted so light! We weren’t expecting it at all. Thumbs up. The star of dessert was the baklava. It was an individual serving. It was flaky and sweet syrup-​y, but not cloyingly sweet like semi-​commercial places like Mamouns tend to do.
All of this for under $ 20! Delivery could be faster, but the food really compensated for it. Not to mention, boyfriend said that the delivery girl was really nice and apologized for taking a little while!

Had another opportunity to taste something new when I stopped in today. Unless you’re ordering a slice of pizza, the food may take a while to prepare, but it is worth the wait. Just had to try that sweet smelling Lamb Kebab and it did not disappoint. I was provided with a generous portion that was seasoned to perfection. Tasted as good as it looks in the photo I uploaded.

This pizza is good! Crust is fresh and great toppings! Next time (that’s right I said next time Simona) I’ll ask for extra sauce… but that’s just me. I’m now a big fan! Thanks Simona!
I have to knock it down to 4. It doesn’t reheat well. Had I went with extra sauce, probably. Crust still good… edges didn’t reheat well.
