Awesome burritos. Great deals($ 6 per burrito). Lots of toppings to choose from. Walking distance to pretty much all the offices in Newport. Outdoor seating. I come here all the time. Can’t go wrong.

Move over Side Dish Café… This is my new place for salads. It’s marginally closer to where I work(really a matter or entering the mall vs. not).and the staff is so damn friendly! Plus, around 1pm it’s never crowded. I always get a small romaine salad(grilled chicken, avocado, cherry tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, corn, and jalapenos) and my lunch is under $ 8. FOR A HUGESALAD. AND they chop!!! Plus, did I mention the people that work there are incredibly friendly? So much win. I will definitely be here every day of my working life.

Friendly place with good service. Prices are a little high but still better than other places nearby. Ordering and pickup is a little chaotic during a rush, so stay make sure you repeat your order twice. I work in the building and they have great catering as well! Only complaint is no self serve salad bar or any self serve other than Indian during lunch.

Lunch options in Newport are limited unless of course you prefer the Newport mall food court. I had one of the«hot foods» — spaghetti with meatballs. I should have cancelled my order when they put the dish in the microwave. The spaghetti was ok, nothing special. Service was quick, considering that not many people were around when I went for lunch. I am still willing to give this place a shot. They have other food options — salads, sandwiches, pitas, Indian buffet.

Finally! A good lunch spot in the gem of a location in between several offices and a crappy mall. I miss lunch in Midtown NYC. I happen to work in very close proximity to this establishment, and I’ve seen some very bad decisions made as far as restaurant management(previously) in this location. The last place, «Wall St. Deli» was a complete joke. None of the employees paid attention to you, often you waited to pay for 5 minutes or more, and you never quite knew what the price was going to be. It was like the breakfast price was determined by the bid ask spread. If it was done on purpose, it may have been fun(Breakfast Futures), like if hog futures are down this morning, I get the ham b/c it’s a better value. No, it was gross incompetence. Not to mention, I became gravely ill after eating breakfast there once. Needless to say, I was was a HUGE skeptic of the new café. At first glance, it looks similar. There is not much change in décor or setup. I see this as an advantage. The eating, cooking, counter, kitchen areas are and were already set up well. «If it ain’t broke then no need to fix it». They were barely used, and when they were, nobody ate there. I’m sure it saved the new owner a ton of coin because he realized that it was a gold mine with very little set up cost. There is a huge noticeable difference when you walk by this spot. You know they are open. There is someone offering you free samples! I mention this in all of my reviews. Free samples attract attention. What was even better was that they were interesting samples being shouted by Arthur(presumably the owner). He gets your attention with his striking, positively contagious vibe. You definitely feel the need to at least stop and give the small sample a taste. Once inside, I recommend you head for the the shwarma chicken wraps. They have different types. I’m not a fan of curry, but if you are, they have an Indian buffett. The chicken wraps, however, are addicting. You can get falafel, lamb or chicken(my fav) in a Pita or a wrap(my preference). The serve it up with a greek cucumber salad. It has cilantro in it which I like but up to u. More salad is served on the side with hummus inside with white and red(spicy) sauce. The chicken is extremely juicy and full of flavor. I literally could eat it 3 times a week and probably do. They have other options there. Breakfast is good. It used to come with coffee(Seattle’s Best) which was very good but no longer free. I no longer order it. I’m a Dunkin’ fan so not necessary as I get that on my way in. Last but not least, they offer a rewards program that gives you some free food after about five visits. Nothing ground breaking, but better than nothing. I’d recommend giving it a shot. If nothing else you leave there with a positive experience, and something decent and healthy to enjoy to break up the 9 – 5.

This place is right across from the Newport Market Café. It is much smaller. I had a salad which tasted really good, despite seeing one of the chickpeas which I got was a bit discolored. ie old. I also had a latte which was rather good. I would try some of their other items, such as pizza or quesadilla The salad I had was rather good and reasonably priced.

Their first week this was a great place to go. Pre-made deli sandwiches were pretty good. Now 2 – 3 weeks in no deli sandwiches and they only offer the same cookie cutter«panini» as everybody else around here. Pizza was OK. I have had way better but not too many options around here for slices. I got a large salad which could have been bigger. Many options to add into the salad. In summary: folks around here were very much looking for a new lunch spot but we can quickly see that this place may not last long serving the same cookie cutter paninis and salads that can be found in about 6 other places. The pizza is average but it is nice to have the option of slices even though its fairly pricey.

I have eaten here 4 times since they have opened, and I have had mixed experiences. Experience #1: I decided to try something from the deli section. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich. It was OK. Not bad, but not great. They toasted it without asking me, which I did not appreciate. It had mixed greens on it, and when you toast something with mixed greens, it tends to get wilted. Which it did, but still eatable. However, they did not offer a pickle with the sandwich, AND they packaged it in a Styrofoam container. Hello? Really? Green is in people! I understand they are being cost conscience because they just opened, but sometimes you have to suck up costs to get people in the door, and have repeat business. Experience #2: The second time I came in, I decided to try their pizza. It was very good… for whats available in this area anyway. However, their pricing per slice is on the high side. You get more bang for your buck at Bertucci’s across the street to be honest. But still, the pizza is pretty good, and a nice selection. Experience # 3, the third time I came in, I decided to go to their«Mediterranean» section. First of all, this section is completely laughable. Its states on the menu, «Freshly Baked Pitas», yet they are visibly taking the pitas out from a store brand package. Whatever. Now here is the odd part. They have two tins filled with cooked chicken. One tin is filled with cooked boneless chicken thighs, which was clearly made with tandoori spices(how is this Mediterranean??). The other tin also contained cooked chicken thighs, but with some mild seasonings. On the menu, it states ‘Chicken Kabob’ or ‘Chicken Breast’. Neither of these tins contained anything that resembled chicken breast, or «kabob». Anyway, I asked for a «Chicken Kabob» with pita. They sliced open a pita from the package, filled the bottom with some soupy hummus, placed a few pieces of the lightly seasoned chicken thighs in, and added some kind of cucumber tomato mixture. They wrapped it in foil, placed it in the Styrofoam container, and added a side of some poorly constructed salad with the most miserable dressing I have ever tasted. The chicken pita concoction itself was somewhat tasty, but it wasn’t what I ordered. Whatever. Experience #4. Today, I decided to perform a test, and see what I would get if I specifically said«Chicken Breast» from the«Mediterranean» menu. The guy slices open the packaged pita, and starts adding tandoori chicken thighs. I say to him that I had asked for chicken breast, in which he replied«oh, this is very good». He then proceeded to hand me a piece of chicken to sample, and then said to me, «I will make you chicken breast tomorrow». Ha! Classic. He then hands me a piece of falafel, which was OK, but a little bland. So anyway, I went back to the office, started eating this pita concoction, and instantly became nauseous. It was so terrible. The tandoori flavor with the hummus and Mediterranean salad, combined with a stale pita was awful. Those flavors had no business being mixed together, especially with greasy, fatty chicken thighs. It was a complete nightmare. Someone should be reprimanded for serving that mess. Needless to say, I will never again try anything from the«Mediterranean» section. They should do away with this portion of menu as soon as possible. Bottom line: The sandwich/wrap section looks fine, but I am turned off by the fact they package it in Styrofoam, and there is no option of a pickle with your sandwich or wrap. The pizza is good, but pricey. I like value, thus I will probably not frequent this store for pizza as often as I normally would. The Mediterranean place is a disaster, loaded with false advertisement. My brother said it best when he stated that I had ordered a pita filled with lies. I am still nauseous as I type this. I may one day decide to try something from the Indian section just to update this review, but that may not be anytime soon. And that’s that.
