Let me start off with Denunzios has been a favorite of mine for 15+ years and when I was back home all the time I would eat there twice a week. Today was my first time back in about 2 years. I was disappointed with my strops petit since they didn’t put any prosciutto in it like they should have. Our chicken Alfredo came without chicken also. The chopped salad was great as always and the meatballs were tasty also. This was a takeout order and just wished we would have received what we should have. Hopefully they don’t drop the ball next time. Always good to see Tony at the bar as well

Had my bffs baby shower here and had an amazing time. A party of 15 with cocktails and mingling before dinner and no one was ever left wanting. Lauren was spot on, making sure we had fresh drinks quickly. Dinner was great. I had the lobster ravioli on her recommendation and it was delicious. They provided cake service and and had no problem splitting checks between couples. Had a great time and am so pleased.

We went to Denunzio’s in Jeannette after my step sisters funeral, I do have to thank them for accommodating us on short notice. But, they only provided us with a limited menu, even though each diner was paying separately and the prices charged were higher than what is shown on their website menu page. There were only 25 – 30 people so I am not sure how they would handle this if we were just customers who happened to walk off the street. We were told fettuccini Alfredo with chicken or shrimp and we were given penne pasta instead. Those that ordered the steaks did not like them and would not even take the left overs home. My husbands chicken parm came with half of a baked potato instead of pasta. They were having a baby shower down in the one dining rooms and it seems like we were stuck with the same menu they chose. I know we definitely will not be back, the food has declined and is definitely not worth the price paid.

Tonight was my first and last trip to DeNunzio’s. The worst part of the experience was the service. Our wait person just didn’t seem to care. I asked what kinds of bottled beer they had and her response was«I don’t know, there’s 20 different kinds. What do you want?» Then she just stared at me. If you’re not going to have a beer list, the server should at least know some of what’s available. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and to have our order taken, then 1 ½ hours for our food. Not everyone got what they ordered and to our servers credit, she brought what was missing and removed it from the bill. The food was decent but nothing special. The salads were over dressed, the gnocchi was rubbery, and I don’t know what the fuss is about the sauce. There are way too many good Italian restaurants in the Greensburg area for me to risk another bad experience here.

Had my birthday dinner here Saturday. There were eight of us. Three people ordered lasagna which was a very large piece. They said it was very good. We had ordered veal Parmesan, chicken Parmesan, lobster ravioli, egg plant Parmesan, and everything was delicious. Lauren our waitress was very nice. Desserts were very good, but not a big serving. I had the almond cake which was good. But I prefer Mrs. D’s cake.

I dined a DeNunzio’s yesterday for the first time, and I have absolutely no complaints! I got the crab stuffed hot peppers which were delicious. Not too hot, and they were filled with plenty of crab. Their sauce was tasty as well!

We went here about a year ago for a bridal shower. The food was SUPER good, the service was excellent. I haven’t had a chance to go back yet for dinner, but I would definitely return!

Went here last night for New Years Eve dinner. Even though they lost my reservation, they were still able to accommodate us. There was somewhat of an extended wait between courses and when waiting for drinks, but that can be expected on a holiday. Perhaps add more staff next year? Overall the food was vet good, but no special offerings. Menu was limited and prices upped $ 10-$ 15 a dish. We will return to Denunzio’s as it is close to home and has decent week night specials.

We are semi-regulars at this place, eating there five or six times each year. The food is consistent, the service good, seating spacious enough, pricing reasonable and easy parking(on the hill behind the restaurant). They also have a selection of wines that are pretty good and reasonably priced. The steaks tend to be a little over-cooked, so order one-step rarer than you want.

I’ve been to Denunzios 3 times now. The first time I had steak, and it was great. The second time, I had fettuccine alfredo, and it was terrible. I couldn’t even finish it. I didn’t like it at all, and that’s my usual go to meal at an italian restaurant. We went again tonight, and got the Monday night spaghetti special for $ 5.95. The red sauce was also terrible. My wife said the same thing. So I guess it’s a good place if you don’t mind spending $ 20 or more for a steak dinner, but I’ll pass on any type of pasta dish, since I don’t seem to like any of their sauces.

Best calamari! They do a fine job of the Italian classics but I go mostly for their fantastic calamari. Good service, too. Weeknight specials are a deal. Try the chicken Alfredo.

We stopped for lunch on Wednesday. It is a nice looking place, very clean, and we were served quickly but it was not real crowded. My wife ordered a half-order of angel hair spinach pasta in cream sauce and wedding soup. I ordered the fried mozzarella salad special. My wife loved her soup and pasta. My salad was very fresh and I enjoyed it too. I had an ice tea and my wife had a glass of wine.

The marinara sauce is amazing! As an Italian-American, I’d like to think I’m fussy about my sauce. My co-worker Dana(a real«foodie» and fussy about her Italian food) recommended this out of 3 Italian restaurants in the Pittsburgh metro area. I was unhappy because all three are in this same area, far from my house. My daughter now goes to UPG, so we are sometimes in the area on Sundays mid-day. The other two(Sunset Café and Rizzo’s Malabar) have lousy Sunday hours(not open until 4) so we came to Denunzios by default. Well, Dana was right. Denunzio’s was wonderful. Celeste(below) might prefer acidic, dark, canned sauce. But I prefer smooth, mild, flavorful sauce like Denunzio’s serves. This is my favorite sauce of any Italian restaurant in the Pittsburgh metro area. Raviolis are home-made, albeit not abundant. If you want huge quantities, half of which you have to take home, don’t order raviolis(I ate them all during the meal). But you’d be missing the great flavor and texture the ravs provide. The quantities of some of the other pasta dishes are huge – almost obscenely so! I’d prefer smaller quantities so I don’t overeat. But having these as leftovers later is quite nice too. We started with fried zucchini, which had that wonderful marinara as dipping sauce. I don’t generally care for thinly-sliced fried zucchini(because it is oilier and less juicy), but the sauce made it addicting. The bread was good, but not great. Remedy: dip it into the marina and it turns into magic. I think the marinara is the key to Denunzio’s. The small number of reviews is puzzling – go there and you will see hoardes of very happy and devoted customers. Let’s get this happiness written down on Unilocal! The dishes are served with abundant sauce, so that is a plus too. I’m tired of places that just put a little splash of sauce on the pasta. Denunzio’s seems to know that their magic sauce is amazing, and gives you a very good quantity. On two visits, we had one waitress who was warm, sweet, attentive to our party of 3, and friendly, and one waitress who seemed burned out and indifferent to our party of 6. Too bad we live an hour away or we would make this restaurant a weekly event!

Denunzio’s marinara sauce is terrible. There, I said it. Throw rocks at me if you really want but you know it’s true. Despite this major failing for an Italian restaurant, you can still get a good meal at Denunzio’s if you steer clear of anything with red sauce. Chicken Piccata for example or a marsala will do you fine. Denunzio’s has a nice physical lay out but I prefer Mauro’s up the hill and hang a right.

I’ll preface my review with the fact that this restaurant appears to have the Steelers Seal of Approval as the walls are lined with Steelers’ photographs covering many decades of players and coaches… and then the Rooneys. The SSA is important to the Western PA region, and they are onto something with this restaurant. We chose Denunzios to celebtrate my Gram’s 90th year on earth. Truth be told, I didn’t have very high expecations on the dining experience. The restaurant to a Grade A city chic is in the middle of nowhere and in an area not really known for its fine dining. Our party wasn’t particularly large, only 12, but I must say that my family isn’t easy to serve. Quick with the Irish tempers, 1⁄3 of the crew are stone deaf, my dear Aunt Helen despises Italian food although I doubt she has ever tried it, and my sweet younger cousin who is slightly neurotic about any oil or butter touching her foods(hope she isn’t reading this!); however the servers were very patient and very kind to our demanding group. And the food was fantastic. We started off the dining experience with a variety of appetizers, including the roasted red pepper bruschetta and lemon grilled shrimp. The salads followed, which I thought could have had a bit more pizzazz with veggies and were a bit doused with dressing, but that kind of goes with the turf with dining in this region. Each of the courses were perfectly timed with serving. The entrée portions are huge, perfect for late night snacks or the day after left over dinner The meal was a thorough delight and everyone marveled about Denunzios for the rest of the weekend.
