Took a day trip to the Greensburg area and knew I had to stop at DeLallo’s when I was there. As many other Unilocalers have pointed out, the location of DeLallo’s isn’t the best. Being directly off of route 30, I can imagine that during peak times of traffic it wouldn’t be so fun to visit. I was overwhelmed(in a good way!) with the beautiful produce when I first walked in. The olive bar is OUTstanding– there’s over 100 different types of olives! I am not much of an olive person myself, but I encouraged my mom to try some unique flavors. Their cheese selection was incredible. I purchased a ball of fresh mozzarella and cannot wait to use it this weekend. Their prepared food section was great too. My whole family treated themselves to a prepared sandwich. My boyfriend and I ordered the honey ham & peppered turkey sandwich and WOW. It was amazing. The bread stuck out to me the most– it was clearly very fresh and was the perfect consistency/thickness. It had a great flavor to it as well. The meats were delicious and the cheese was wonderful as well. It was served with mayo packets/Italian dressing packets, which is a little disappointing. Even some oil & vinegar would have been a classier touch. We also ordered some cold prepared foods to take home– ½ pound of potato salad and a ½ pound of general tsos. Everything in that section was $ 9.88lb, which I wasn’t found of. It seems odd to pay the same price for general tsos per pound as you would potato salad. The potato salad was a little bland– we had to add some extra spices to add more flavor. Same with the general tsos. I probably wouldn’t order either of them again. The bakery was large– they have a TON of pepperoni rolls and other breads that looked AMAZING. I wanted to buy them all. They also had a deal going on, if you bought a bag of pasta, you received a free pasta spoon. I treated myself to a bag of mini penne’s and can’t wait to try them with the DeLallo’s Arrabiata that I purchased as well. This place is going to cost you a little more than your typical grocery store, but it’s worth it. The sandwiches were the best deal– under $ 5 for each one, and they were pretty big &SUPER good. One thing that I was bummed about– no where to sit & enjoy your food! I think that if they had a couple tables it would really be a nice addition. We were so hungry & had to go to the closest fast food place & order a drink from there to eat our meals. The lack of seating and the flavorless potato salad/general tsos is the reason why I deducted a star. Don’t let that stop you from visiting though. This place ROCKS.

Omg. Come one, come call Italians to your little bit of heaven in Greensburg, PA! Bread, baked goods, produce, cheese, meat, did I mention, cheese! Everything is so fresh and authentic. There have an HUGE antipasti bar with tons of olives, stuffed peppers and more. Not only is everything so good, they are on their service game. My family has come here every Christmas Eve as a tradition and I think many others do too. They are quick and organized to keep crowds flowing in and out. Do yourself a favor and stop in. I dare you not to walk out without a bag full of goodies. Mangia Mangia!

My Italian relatives love this place. IMHO it is highly over-rated. But at least it’s expensive. Anybody who has been outside of the Greensburg area will know that the prepared foods here are mediocre, at best. Overcooked, fried, bland, and greasy. They have some items that are hard to find elsewhere so maybe that’s the attraction.

This is a gem of a grocery store. Very well lit, good selection. Staff was friendly, but not pushy. I found some flour items I don’t usually see in stores. I loved their olive section! Great variety of cheeses.

DeLallo’s has been a place that I have driven past on multiple occasions over the years and never even thought to stop at. I would always think to myself that it would an out of the way stop and the prices would be unnecessarily too high. Once I stopped here I could have literally slap myself in the face for thinking that way. The smell overwhelms you when you enter here. It’s not a bad smell, it’s actually the smell of freshness that you welcome, like that of fresh bread out of an oven. This isn’t an extensive grocery store, but one that focuses on good, high-quality foods. I have never been to a spot where they will cut you a brick of cheese as well as slice it. I mean they have the authentic cheese cutting block. Along with a cheese section they have an ample deli section. The bakery was so hard to pass up, but I maintained my self control and just looked… and maybe drooled a bit. The thing I love about this place is all the fresh made items they have that you can pick up quickly and take it home and throw it in the oven. For the families on the go, it’s an easy alternative to a homemade meal. Another thing about this place that is pretty amazing is that you can stop for a bite to eat. Pick what you want, pay and go outside to not only enjoy your food, but the weather, when it is nice out(no one is going to be sitting out there in winter). The staff are super nice and swift with their deeds. The one thing that is the only drawback here, but not worthy enough to dock a star, is the location. It sits along busy US Rt. 30. I can for a fact tell you that there are many accidents in front of this store. There is a center turning lane that, for lack of better understanding, is confusing to people. People just plain forget what that lane is for. So do yourself a favor and pay attention to your surrounding when you are driving this stretch of the four-lane. For your safety, if not for the delicious food.

For some reason I lived in Greensburg a whole year before checking out DeLallo’s. I’m glad I finally stopped by because it seems like a great store. I’ve been buying their tomato sauces at other places for months now, but the everything they carried seemed great. The produce was high quality, there was a huge bakery case, and the deli was especially impressive. There was also a huge olive bar and a gigantic selection of cheese. It’s a little more expensive than the other grocery stores nearby, but I can see myself driving the extra few minutes every once in a while.

While the food is good and the produce is fresh, the service here is absolutely horrible and the staff are downright rude and unhelpful. It’s as if they know they have a monopoly on Italian grocery/specialty food stores in the area. I would love to walk around in here and browse and ask questions and spend money, but the staff make you uncomfortable and provide anything but the warmth you’d expect from Italians.

DeLallo’s Italian Store is a staple in the area. I remember as a child going there and being excited to get salami or pepperoni, or one of their pepperoni rolls. Over the years I’ve continued to go to DeLallo’s any chance I can get. My father-in-law who has a strange desire to visit grocery stores in every country he visits, and he insists that DeLallos is the best grocery store he’s been to in the world. Now, I don’t know that I’d go that far, but DeLallo’s has never disappointed me. They have a picturesque fresh food area, and they also have a deli that is to-die-for. If you’re looking for Italian imports, this is the place to go. Their olive bar is immense, and the cheeses they carry put any stores outside of the Strip district to shame. I wish I still lived in the area, but anytime I go near Pittsburgh I run out to Jeanette to get to DeLallos — the best Italian grocer I’ve ever seen.

Amazing sandwiches! The bread is perfect, the cold cuts are fresh and delicious and the cheese is good. My only complaint is that they do not offer oil and vinegar for the sandwiches! The counter lady said all they had was Italian dressing in packets. I said that would do and later learned that these packets were cheap quality consisting of soybean oil so I just threw them away. Considering the high quality sandwiches… they should have olive oil and balsamic vinegar or at least red wine vinegar to dress sandwiches! I would come again and just skip the dressing they offer. Store is fun to shop in with lots of Italian items as others have covered in their reviews.

Absolutely love coming home from Annapolis and visiting this store. Truly awesome prices compared to the area I am from. Love stocking up on my canned items: sauces and italian goods. Jeannette is very lucky to have a store like this in the area.

A great Italian store that is a bit on the pricy side. They have all kinds of fresh fruit, vegetables, bulk nuts, and many other items. There is a huge olive/antipasta bar and also a huge cheese counter with cheese from all around the world. Next to that is the prepared foods sections with all different kinds of goodies… be carful here, things are priced by weight and it adds up really fast. There there is a meat section, fresh baked bread, and a bakery. Finally there are a couple ails of Italian grocery products as well as a small refrigerated and and freezer section. Delallo makes there own as well as imports other Italian products here. Their own brand is quite good and is also sold at other area grocery stores. Be warned if you go here a few days before a holiday, it will be packed!

Best store around. They have salads, and meat made daily to take home plus a bakery. If you want to make a great meal, they have everything you need. It’s a mini super market now since the remodel, think of giant eagle but 20x better and smaller lol

This is always a much anticipated trip because when I come here I leave very happy. It is now a tradition in my family to come here every Christmas and buy all of our favorites for the Holidays! It’s an absolute must! I’d list everything I love but it would most likely be half of their inventory.

The Delallo family has been a corner stone of fine food for years, all our friends from out of town make a stop there anytime they visit the area. I’m so happy I live close by.

I don’t know a lot about Italian food outside of Americanized pasta dishes, but after one trip to this Italian grocery I am much more interested in learning. Being from the Midwest, I had never realized there were so many different combinations of olives and other veggies combined with cheese and seasonings and then coated in olive oils until I came here. The buffet of olives and antipastos seemingly goes on forever, and has more options than my brain, and more importantly my stomach, could comprehend. The pricing is done solely by weight, and the process starts by grabbing one of the different sized empty containers, and then scooping out as much or as little as you want. The olives are of course delicious, but the garlic cloves and marinated mushrooms were each on my favorites list as well. I recommend taking a good look at everything before you start selecting so you don’t end up ¾ of the way through with a full container and something you just have to try at the end of the line. They can either seal it up and weigh it for you at the deli counter, or at the dedicated weighing station on the other end. If you are planning an event that needs any sort of antipasto or sides, this is the place you want to come. Aside from this antipasto bar that blew me away, they have a very large deli with a selection of many different cuts of meat including some of the more delicious Italian varieties that I am not used to seeing in a normal grocery deli. If it’s your sweet tooth that brings you here, you’ll certainly leave satisfied. They have a huge number of baked dessert items ranging from small Italian cookies to handcrafted cakes. On top of the desserts, they carry plenty of baked bread, of which the pepperoni one was recommended and did not disappoint. I can’t speak much to the grocery side of the store, but they do have one. This is definitely a grocery store unlike any I have been in, and I certainly would recommend anybody in the area at least check it out. If you manage to leave without finding something you just have to buy, you are stronger willed than I am.

On one of my favorite places to visit! DeLallo’s is not your standard grocery store or Italian store… it is BOTH combined into ONE! Yeah you heard right. its both! When you first walk into Delallo’s you are greeted by normal grocery items, fruits and veggies… but after some walking you enter the Italian store. At this point you hope that you already have a full stomach because if you don’t, you had better have a high limit on that credit card! Delallo’s offers you everything! From fresh pasta to multiple types of olives and antipasti to a fresh deli that goes on for miles! There is something for everyone! The selection is out of this world plus everyone there is very friendly and helpful! You almost feel like this is a place where your Italian grandmother would come to(and Im not even Italian!!) So if you are in area and need anything Italian this is the place to be! Top top notch service and even better selection, you can’t go wrong! Just make sure to hide your wallet and fill your stomach before coming… otherwise you might bite off more than you can chew! Enjoy!

Great local Italian market. Best fresh produce to be found anywhere. You will not be disappointed in any of it. There rolls are some of the best around. Deli meats are all was a treat. And I could spend so much money at there bakery. The entrance to the store can be intimidating. Best to approach it from the west. Also, this place gets crazy near the holidays. Be prepared.

Love this place. Best deli I’ve been to aside from Eataly in Manhattan(Mario Battali’s place) They have everything. Huge olive bar. 4 million kinds of cheese and deli meats. They have pre-made sandwiches but will make you a custom-made one, if you ask. They might grumble a little but. I come here every time I find myself in Greensburg and sometimes I just take a ride up the turnpike, just cuz I’m craving some DeLallo’s Produce looks wonderful but haven’t tried it yet. Cakes and pastry… oh my. Cakes are so good. They will let you get a half cake of the cheaper ones. I’m saving up to buy a full rum cake since they don’t sell those by halves. Oh also Italian groceries with their own brand sauces, etc. I wish I could shop here every day!!! Such a clean and welcoming store. They have tables out front in a covered area so you can eat your sandwich 10 seconds after purchasing. Love to see the real old paisans here. Last time I sat outside there were two little old ladies in their housecoats eating sandwiches and olive. My kind of retirement!

My family may have done a piss poor job of retaining the language, but that doesn’t mean they got sloppy in the cucina. My thick-ankled, dark skinned and fast-talkin’ Italian family and I(the tall, fair oddball) get our dose of the motherland from DeLallo’s. This market-style grocery is an Italian’s wet dream with everything from a ride array of cheeses and pastas to fresh breads, biscottis, sauces, oils, dressings and everything in between. I highly recommend the fresh red stuffed peppers with cheese and prosciutto in the center. We often visit DeLallo’s for platters of olives, veggies and cheese to take to the annual Mattucci family reunion. They’re a bit on the salty side — both in flavor and price, but a hit every time. Fun facts: ***you can order food online and their website offers a great selection of recipes ***If I lived in Jeannette, I would recommend a visit to the store before an evening of cooking dinner in for date. How romantic of me. ***Even better? I can get my dose of DeLallo’s back home in the form of an olive bar at the grocery down the street in Indy!
