Good old time style ice cream place. It took a bit to get service. They were having issues making a drink for the customer ahead of me. I would have given them a higher score if they hadn’t been so rude to me. I had about two bites of ice cream left and they said they were closing and we had to go. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great little hole in the wall place for ice cream, cookie cutters, and other cooking items that you need. A must try ice cream is dead 2 chocolate I believe it is the best they have and you will not regret it. You might die just having with ice cream. The girls are very knowledgeable and very helpful and I had a very positive experience. You also have to try pretzel with cheese reasonable price and very cheap and tasty pretzel.

I am very mixed on how many stars to give. Is this place a store or is it a restaurant? I am saying this because the owner are having the staff do both duties. I feel for the staff here. The pretty much have to run between two rooms to do both. I would suggest to have a dedicated person for each portion of the establishment. If you are here for the food it can be very confusing. When you walk in all you see is a candy counter, merchandise, and a couple of tables. There is Rey little signs of this being a restaurant too. To figure things out we asked one of the over worked staff behind the counter. She said to follow her. We walled the entire length of the store portion, through an entryway. Down through another store section before we saw tables. The service was spotty because the place is under staffed. The food was not pretty yet good. I would call the food home style more then everything else. It it was not for the hard working staff I would of given Hete’s The Scope three stars. So the broth star is for the staff. With all said… I well NOT be returning here again.

We left the valley to find the sun and found this gem as well. My husband had to try the«Jimmy» hamburger(his name) and it didn’t disappoint! I had a most tasty chicken salad sandwich with a salad made with homemade dressing. I love browsing in their baking supply/cookie cutter room, I was in heaven. Will most definitely return!!!

I really like this place. We’ve had lunch and ice cream a couple of times. Food’s always good — not super fantastic best ever but good quality. The ice cream’s REALLY nice — they have a berry sundae with the best berry topping I’ve had in a long time. Service can be a bit hit or miss — last time we were there some local teenagers had kind of overwhelmed the place and I don’t think they even realized we were there for a while. Once they took our order everything was perfect though — very attentive. I’d have dinged them a star for that but the waitress was quite charming, and did I mention the berries? They should rename them«Get a star back berries». If you’re used to bay area prices you’ll be really pleasantly surprised when you get the bill. Be sure to check out the back area with the cookie cutters. As far as I can tell they have all of them. I’m only in Jamestown a couple of times a year but I can definitely see dropping in here for lunch whenever the timing’s good.

I like to support locals, the sweets are locally baked and taste delicious. the staff isn’t that friendly and twice the cook left out the main ingredients on my salad. I know it’s silly but I pay 10 $ for something I’d like to get everything I’m paying for & maybe a smile every now and then

Stopped here after walking up & down Main Street as my brother & his family went here before & strongly recommended it. Good going bro. Like a lot of the businesses here, it has an old world atmosphere with friendly service; they also have pastries, coffee, salads, & sandwiches. I had mint chip in a waffle cone; smooth creamy chocolaty minty cool goodness in a fresh crispy flaky waffle cone. Yum. I will definitely be back. This place reminds me of the old Shaw’s Ice Cream in Belmont. So, for some wonderful ice cream at low prices inan old world friendly clean atmosphere, Here’s The Scoup cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.

What a fantastic store. If you want a cookie cutter, this is the place to go! Walls and walls and walls of cookie cutters. Add kitchen gadgets, sandwiches, ice cream and great people, you can’t go wrong.

The place is special enough for us to drive up there all the way from San Francisco. Visiting The Scoop is a tradition lasting for more years than the store is operating under its current name(it was«Locals Make Good» before). Great choices of tasty sweets, and we always buy local teas to take home. Once we run out – it’s time to go up to Jamestown again! One suggestion — please bring back the Rum Tea. Last time I was able to buy it was in 2010, but no more. It was both great and unique — please, please, resurrect it!

Needle in a haystack. none other like it. Went in for lunch. They use natural beef and turkey for sandwiches and sell the beef. steaks, hamburger frozen too! Not an easy thing to find up here. Bought a banana nut bread(cake) they make. Must weight two pounds. Delicious for $ 7.00. In San Francisco, it would have been at least double.

We love malts and were anxious to try them here. We ordered two chocolate malts with extra malt. My husband wanted his made with vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and I asked for mine made with chocolate ice cream. They ran out of malt and barely had enough for my husband’s malt. Then, they made my shake with vanilla ice cream and it wasn’t very chcolately at all. Both shakes were runny and not very tasty. We were disappointed. The servers were nice and they do have a cute shop with tons of cookie cutters! If we go again, we’ll stick with an ice cream cone next time.

Great place for a light lunch and ice cream. We ate here twice this past weekend. Sandwiches and salads are tasty and fresh. Reasonable prices, including kids meals. Very cute little restaurant with a counter for the kids to eat at. The young women that worked behind the counter were a pleasure to deal with. My kids loved their first Banana Split!

definitely wanted to stop by this place during our visit here. the ice cream was good, but i wish more flavors were offered. i got mint chocolate chip and mocha almond fudge. mint chip was good, but nothing great. i loved mocha almond fudge because i could really taste the coffee. they also have ice cream sandwiches and frozen bananas. food is also served. i think sandwiches. they also sell homemade dressings and salsas. there are cookie cutters available for sale as well. i’ve never seen so many! cookie cutters in shapes of states, animals, makeup, instruments, etc. it’s a cool shop.
