The ambience is wonderful but the ice cream was the smallest scoop of ice cream ever! If you go here go for the atmosphere. I have been to a couple plays here and the line is very long during intermission. Drink menu nothing special or different but definitely a cool spot for the arts.

This was one of my favorite little places in Columbia. They have old fashioned ice cream sodas, like with flavored soda water. My grandmav used to rave about real«chocolate sodas» and this place has them. It’s also one of the few places in town that stays open late, until 7pm. We all had floats, and even the coke is served in glass bottles. Lots of tables and bar stools. The gentleman serving us was super friendly.

This place was very dissapointing. Environment was blah, and stuffy as if they didn’t run the AC or open windows. Service is slow, and any service you do get you’ll also get the feeling that their customers are annoying. For example, my recent experience; my sister asked for a sundae in a waffle cone… they refused to make a sundae in a waffle cone. I asked for two scoop sundae(aka: Any day Sundae on their menu board) they didn’t have cups big enough to make a two scoop sundae??? So next, after my son’s ice cream cone broke causing his scoop of ice cream to splatter all over the ground, I took it back in and told them that the cup of the cones are weak around the stem and broke clean off. The girl there just stared at me and my crying 2 year old and said«I don’t understand what you want me to do about it.» I kindly asked her to replace it. She then asked the other guy working there if he would replace it, he slammed his palm on his leg and huffed, «of course…» He did give my son a new one. But I couldn’t help but feel like we were an inconvenience. What a shame to end our nice family day in such a let down. Save your money, and go to the legit parlor up the street. Won’t be returning to this sad place.

*Located in historic Columbia State Park* There are a couple of ice cream joints in town and I think this one gets overlooked but it shouldn’t. It’s located in a big roomy space. The guy is wearing nice old fashioned period attire. For 50cents more u can have a waffle cone and they offer you generous scoops of delicious ice cream. If you wander off the Main Street and find yourself here, stop in for a scoop or two.

I gave this classic old ice cream parlor 5 stars because while my wife was napping in our awesome Fallon Hotel room, I waited patiently to go downstairs and get a mint & chip ice cream cone. The Fallon Ice Cream Parlor is literally 10 feet next door to the hotel. My wife woke up and we headed downstairs and walked outside. To my shocking eyes, the employee was carrying the sign inside and said that they just closed. I thought about dropping to my knees and begging him to serve one last ice cream cone for the day. Thank God I did not have to. He offered to allow us inside where I got the most delicious mint & chip ice cream cone of the day. The employees throughout Columbia State Historical Park are second to none. They really do make you feel like family.

I’ve been coming here since a kid, and am in love with the ice cream and waffle cone smell! Recently returned with my husband, and I raved to him about how great the ice cream was, but the place was never open when we came by! We came by on a Friday and Saturday(around 5:00), and they were closed. :( Strange time for an ice cream parlor to be closed. We rarely go out for ice cream before dinner, and I’m guessing many people are the same way. They should alter their hours of business.

The building is the star and the ice cream is good. Basically what I was expecting.

What a great place in Columbia Historic State Park! It looked like an ice cream parlor from the past with its Victorian style décor and wooden floors. They were so busy that they ran out of hot fudge and whipped cream! Other than that, the strawberry ice cream was great and brought out the kid in all of us.

I’ve been going to this place since I was a child. Stepping in here is like stepping back in time. The ice cream is just heaven. It’s sweet and creamy, like home made ice cream should taste. They make their own waffle cones. If your lucky, you’ll be there to get a fresh warm one. It’s around the corner in historic Columbia. Plan to come for the day to check out the whole town. It’s great for the kids.
