The prices here definitely beat Manhattan prices, but you really have to be careful. The manager speaks English and some of the stylists do, but if you want something even remotely outside of run-of-the-mill done, you’re really in a better position if you speak Spanish; otherwise you’re going to be using the manager as a go-between, and even though I was just there for a touchup and a trim, my situation did not end well. I definitely give them props for protecting my hair, which has been significantly lightened, every step of the way. However, my stylist was completely unprofessional. After washing my hair, she simply left me sitting in the sink for about 45 minutes while she disappeared to eat lunch. The manager noticed, came over, and rinsed me herself. My hair didn’t require much of a trim and she had several pictures of the haircut from different angles, but managed to do something absolutely bizarre with it and mess it up anyway; I left there looking like the dude from Flock of Seagulls because after botching the trim on one side of my head, she tried to fix it with a curling iron and Aquanet. Also, the manager came over and told her what she was doing was wrong and they kind of got into it, so the whole experience was unpleasant. So I ran, I ran so far away, and I doubt I’ll be back. This place is a good bet if you have medium to long hair and you just need a relaxer and/or a roller set and a blowout. If you have a complicated haircut, skip it, but, that said, your color-treated hair is in good hands.

I started going to this salon and specifically Clary after a friend’s recommendation. When she went on maternity leave I started going to Isabel and found that she does a better job so now I only go to Isabel and it was initially awkward because you sign in and write down what stylist you want and one day Clary came up to me with the shop owner holding the sign in sheet and asked if I wanted her to do my hair and I tried to act like I got their names confused lol but told her it’s ok I would just go with Isabel since that’s who I wrote down. Isabel’s chair is right next to hers which doesn’t help either and I used to switch between the two or tried going when Clary wasn’t there to make it less awkward but honestly Clary started to become hit or miss and although she is very nice I don’t pay you to be sometimes on point. Isabel is ALWAYS on her A-game. I’ve also had my eyebrows waxed here by Clary and she does a good job on that as well. I don’t wax them anymore since I began threading but if wax is your preference it’s good to know they can do that as well. I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 – 10 minutes to get started; they have ladies that wash, color, relax, and put the rollers on and put you under the dryer then whatever stylist you chose does the actual styling. It’s a great system that is clearly a major time saver. I do end up being there for over 2 hours though which is annoying because it’s due to the lengthy time they have you sitting under the dryer. But the results are worth it for me. I’d definitely try them out for actual styles and possibly coloring in the future. The owner, Carla, is very nice. But overall 1 star off for customer service. If you don’t speak spanish you’ll feel a little out of place and it’s obvious how a language barrier can make it a little hard to be personable but that’s why you have to master BOTH languages. They could definitely benefit from being fluent in american english and ensuring their clients are completely understood and can maybe even have a nice convo with you while being serviced. I’ve seen women struggle to explain what they want and walk out of there looking less than thrilled complaining to the owner their stylist didn’t do their hair as they wanted because they didn’t understand.

There is never a long wait at this salon. However, if you are stretching your relaxer or going natural, expect to hear a «you need a relaxer» speech.
