Delivery was fast but I haven’t even started my meal. I ran straight to Unilocal to make my first review ever on the site. RUDEST and MOST DISRESPECTFUL delivery person I have ever encountered. Instead of greeting me, he said «give me $ 1». I said you were tipped already (ordered online — 10% tip was $ 1.09) He raised his voice and said «No, $ 2 tip.» I said a tip is what I choose to give and closed the door. He’s lucky my boyfriend was not home… it was that disrespectful.

Decent place to order Chinese food.
Nothing to brag about but the food won’t kill you.

This is the best tasting takeout in the neighborhood. The problem is one day you’ll be having the best takeout you ever had, and the next day, it could be the worst. I have found their food to be at their best near or on the weekends.
I don’t get delivery here anymore because of their rude young delivery guy.
Maxim is like an abusive relationship I keep coming back to. No matter how bad they treat me, I keep giving them another chance, cause the food really can be that good.

Typical Chinese take out spot. They’ll yell at you when it’s busy and you take your sweet time, more than often they’ll probably mess up your order, most extra items are always extra. And they make faces if you want extra sauces. But food is decent, as well as prices. Eat here for the convenience but go elsewhere for taste/​quality.

My husband ordered from here recently through Seamless. He got what he ordered, but I didn’t get what I ordered. When he called to tell them he got the wrong order, the woman on the phone argued with him!!! Are you kidding me? You’re really going to argue with the customer about their order? Not ordering from here again.

Quality went down horribly. Everything in the menu changed.
My usual orders were chicken with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp chow mei fun and all these orders went down significantly in quality. I probably should have taken pics but my side of rice that came with the meal was a joke– it was literally ¹⁄₃ of the size it used to be! Not only that but the chicken and broccoli only had broccoli with 5 pieces of chewy rubbery chicken. I literally sat there trying to chew it down and got disgusted when it kept springing back up and spat it all out. The sweet and sour chicken is now super crispy BUT there is no meat inside it. I literally had 5 pieces where there was NOTHING in the fried dough. Their shrimp chow mei fun was SUPER greasy and tasted burnt although strangely it wasn’t. I had to squeeze the oil out with a paper towel and I still feel greased up nauseous. I am so glad their food doesn’t taste good anymore because this finally means I won’t order Chinese takeout. This used to be my only go-​to but this has nausea is enough to traumatize me to search for a new one for a while.

I think the food is pretty good here. However, their only delivery man is one of the most rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Doesn’t say thank you or even acknowledge you when you say hello or give him a tip. I agree with the other posters about this guy. My last encounter with him was ridiculous. As I turned to head back inside my apt to get additional money for his tip, he had the nerve to tell me in frustration that I need to give him a tip. Mind you, my order was only $ 6 and the change was about 75 cents, so it wasn’t exactly like the guy was going to be stiffed. This was an overtip in the first place because of his horrible attitude.
I was shocked by his statement and I told him that I was going to get more money, but because of his horrid attitude, I wasn’t going to. I actually should have told him to return the 75 cents because I should have even gave him that!
Get another delivery man!

Really good Chinese food, quality is better than the other Chinese takeouts nearby. Highly recommend!

Still the best choice for Chinese food in the area however the lady who takes the orders is horrible. Lethargic response and rude all in the same breath. Attention restaurant owners some real competition is needed for this place!

They took 1.5 to deliver 3 block away. This place is beyond worst Chinese to order from in this area

I love their steamed pork dumplings! That and the vegetable mei fun are my fav comfort foods. They go well with a great movie and hot tea. Don’t forget to pick up green tea ice cream to dazzle your taste buds! Now that’s my idea of a relaxing evening at home.

Best Chinese food in Queens! Shrimp&broccoli so good! I’ve been going to this place since I was a teenager! Delivery does take a long time but worth it

I rarely give 5 stars. Reason why I gave this place the 5 stars is simple. I ordered once and I kept ordering here till the day I moved from the area.
That means a lot.
They never failed me. I always ordered the same thing roughly and each time it tasted delicious. Their wings are great! Definitely a must! And the delivery is very good! 45 minutes TOPS! And they are very polite!

Food had no flavor, chicken was old and the broccoli was soggy. Gross!

unfortunately this place has taken a turn for the worse. Very rude order takers and the delivery guy is as nasty as they come. Our last delivery came smelling like someone had urinated in our food and we had to throw the entire order worth $ 45 in the trash. Do not trust these guys, they are very very nasty and why should you spend you hard earned money on a place that you cannot trust… We ordered from here 2 to 3 x a week considering our busy schedule and it seemed that rather than appreciate your business, they found our constant ordering a bother. Will never order from again.

Maxim garden is better than the other Chinese take out options in the neighborhood.
As long as you stick to the regular Chinese take out options, you are safe and food tastes slightly better than the other places.

Great and tasty food, always consistent, and cheap. Been ordering from here for 4 years and it’s always my ‘go-​to’ when I have that craving. Shrimp Lo-​Mein and steamed dumplings are awesome. I definitely recommend.

This is honestly one of the better Chinese take-​out spots that service parts of Jamaica/​South Richmond Hill. My sister loves to order from Maxim so unless I was ordering for just myself, this is where we would order from. My problem with ordering from here is that their Garlic Chicken wings suck. They’re usually too soft and not spicy. Worse is when they just don’t put enough sauce on the wings. Their General Tso’s chicken is pretty good though. And the white rice is pretty decent.
I never called to order so I can’t comment on that part of service but they deliver in a reasonable amount of time.
