Old rundown hotel next to the air train. Sketchy area so be careful at night if you walk around for food. Rooms are very small. Flat screen tvs and decent comfortable beds. Bottom line: Cheap ass hotel bare bones. Free breakfast, nothing special, lots of dirt bags and riff raff hanging around area. Checkin, lock up, sleep tight and get the hell out.

The staff at the front desk were extremely rude!!! With the exception of the mildew in the show, the room was nice. Reservations were made 2 months ago and confirmed 2 days ago. When we arrived at the hotel, the rude clerk said the reservation was cancelled the day before. We had to rebook the same room for 100. more. Never again!!!

Priced right. The Quickest check-in ever. Clean room. Huge bathroom. The flat screen TV was big. Breakfast served but did not stop by. Close to public transportation. Highly recommend and would book again!

I booked a reservation online an there was an error with the dates since I was arriving around 12am I contact the hotel manager with in minute of booking my room. I was told by the manager he was going to assist me on correcting my reservation once I checking. When I got there no one at the front desk was willing to help and the manager was gone for the day so i was told, got a funny feeling about the whole setup. To make my story short I was charge for a two day stay when I only stay one night and wrong bed size too. I don’t recommend this place to anyone and I will be contacting my credit card to dispute the Hotel charges. Left feeling robbed $$ and scam :-(.

Pros: close to subway and airport airtrain, comfortable room, complimentary breakfast, Really kind staff Cons: dirty towels, elevator smelled like weed, loud people on our floor. Overall it’s a decent hotel because its new, but i feel like in 2 – 3 years the questionable people that apparently stay here are going to ruin it.

I cannot recall when I last stayed at a Howard Johnson’s. This one attracted me because I was arriving late and leaving early and it was a newer property. You usually can’t go wrong with a newer property and this hotel proves that point. This is a great value for the price and very accessible to JFK. Very comfortable and well furnished room. A lot more so than I expected. So, make it to your room and you’ll be fine. That said, the hotel is a very short walk from the LIRR and Air Train Jamaica Station. I came by rental car, saw the hotel and still drove around the block looking for it. There is no car ‘access’ nor parking. Parking is in the neighborhood. Now, for the neighborhood… First impression is like Uh Oh! I’ve lived in New York over the years so I could evaluate my comfort level pretty fast. And, regardless of what it looks like, it’s fine. You will not be strolling around the neighborhood and there are no dining nor entertainment options. This is a destination hotel. For sleeping. You do not check in to go back out. If you want a very nice room option for a great price and you’re fine on the ‘street’ this is an excellent value choice. Thus my 4 stars… For the room. And it’s new.
