This place used to be my place of choice. I hadn’t been there in a while and I came back to find that there are some subtle changes. As mentioned in other posts, the pizza size change threw me off. They used to have a large, which was really a large and then an individual. They don’t have that option anymore, now the pizza is what is generally considered a small elsewhere. That was disappointing. Change is generally good, but in this instance I don’t think so.

Still a nice atmosphere with very good service. What I was surprised by was the size of the pizza. «Honey someone shrunk the pizza.» They used to serve the pizza on a stand since the size was substantial. What I received was a rather small pizza on the plate.(There is no personal pizza size on their menu so I did not screw up). Very disappointing.

Love the aged wood décor. True tavern atmosphere. Decent beer list, creative cocktails. Staff is always really nice and accommodating. Right off the Forest Hills T station, and some parking on street and surrounding neighborhood. I’ve been here a few times, for dinner, lunch, and weekend brunch. And will most certainly go again; it’s reliable. Yet, though the food is definitely tasty — good portions — and they have great menu choices(e.g., softshell crab eggs benedict), I would classify the food as pretty middle of the road. Tasty, well seasoned, absolutely — my wife likes the freshly prepared vegetables and pasta that make up the pasta primavera — but nothing zinging or particularly innovative.

I always come here for various brunch foods. They also have great turkey burgers and turkey tips!

Came here for brunch on a Saturday with 3 friends. Took forever for a server to come over to offer us drinks. A manager ended up coming over go see if we needed anything. At that point we were ready to order drinks and our food. Subpar food. Worse service. 1 order was wrong, ordered french toast with nutella. Got no nutella. Didnt send it back because it wasnt worth it. My friend got eggs Benedict with eggs that were hardboiled instead of poached. He said it was terrible. My omelet was fine. The drink I ordered tasted like watered down lemonade. I didnt finish it.(Ordered a dogwood sparkler). Server was clearly very new or just very oblivious. Wasnt busy. We went there because my friends lived in the area. Should have stayed home.

Food is somewhat pricey but no one would mind paying for the atmosphere, service, and weekend live acoustic music. Get a pizza. Just do it. Also their house Ale is the best I’ve ever had brewed by a restaurant. Great for dates due to noise level, lighting, and seating options. Cheers!

I like eating here for the atmosphere and music. The staff seems nice enough. I like the menu, but I would say the pizza is not the best brick oven pizza, but the choices they give you for their pizzas is very creative and the ingredients were nice.

Smoke Salmon Eggs Benedict. The sweet potatoes that come along was superb. The food is not too slow and tasted good. Crowed in weekend, but they handle it quite well.

I can’t get the Coulotte Steak off my mind — I had it for dinner last night & wish I could rewind and eat it again. The steak was cleverly sliced and stacked in a gorgeous tower of deliciousness that was almost too pretty to eat(but I managed). At the base of the tower there was a perfectly seasoned potato pancake, then a layer of delicious baby spinach, thin slices of meat, and a topping of crispy onion strings. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was so, so tender — and absolutely amazing paired with a decadent gorgonzola cream sauce. We also had a martini each. Mine was the Harvest Pear, my friend had the Blood Orange Cosmo. Both were very tasty. I loved that there was a little bit of pulp floating in the cosmo, so you could tell that the drinks were made with the best & freshest ingredients. There were so many great options on the menu, and everything I saw served at other tables looked delicious too. The server was really friendly and polite. The space, much larger than I’d imagined from the outside, was pretty crowded(to be expected on a Saturday night! I wouldn’t hope it any other way) and we were seated at a two person table that was so close to the party next to us that it almost felt like we were awkwardly sharing a table with them when we sat down, but in the end it was fine. I loved that they had live music and that he sang mellowed out versions of popular songs — it added a lot to the atmosphere. Hope this place is around for a very very long time.

This place has really good food and pizza. I love the atmosphere and the acoustic music on Saturdays for dinner. The staff is really friendly and the place is clean. Great beer and drink selection. Really good food! My only complaint is that I feel its a rush. You have to definitely wait to order your meals after you are done with apps or your meal comes out while eating the app. That is a restaurant Pet peeve of mine!!! Its happened to us twice here. Anyways, I really love this place and my wife and I frequently go there for dinner.

The atmosphere is great, I love all the dark wood. The staff was very attentive, we even had other servers coming over when ours was too busy. We came for brunch and I ordered Biscuits & Gravy… biscuits were good but the worst gravy I’ve ever had. It was more sausage than gravy.

On my last visit many months ago, I was served a regular pizza instead of a gluten-free pizza. The hostess did not share that I was gluten free with our server and the gluten-free and regular menus are the same color/style. I thought I said gluten-free pizza but the server thought I meant a regular pizza when I ordered. I took a few bites before realizing it wasn’t gluten-free. They comped me a free drink for the mistake, but I was quite sick for several hours afterwards from 2 – 3 bites of pizza. I haven’t gone back because I don’t want to get glutened again. If you are gluten-free, gluten intolerant, or have Celiac, don’t forget to check in with everyone from the hosts to the servers to make sure your gluten-free order is really free of gluten.

A nice spot for a group to meet. But the food was disappointing: not as rich and tasty as the brunch menu suggested. We were disappointed in the huevos rancheros and stuffed peppers. The breakfast burrito was better.

Just left there. I went into have a drink or two before I had to catch my bus home. The bartender ignored me for over 5 minutes. Some might think I’m being sensitive, but I’ve been there many times before in busier nights and I’m addressed within 2 minutes. Clearly not acceptable.

Dogwood delivered on brunch. Waitress suggested Absolute Peppar for my bloddy mary & I gladly accepted. Brunch options range from a Breakfast Burrito, Pizza, Burgers & Sides. Our table started with the Spinach Dip — delicious with nice chucks of artichokes. We ordered a breakfast item: French Toast was topped with nutella, carmelized bananas and carmel. And got pizzas: one was the Spruce: garlic base, arugula, prosciutto & evoo. Everything was tastey & wiuld go back again for this brunch.

Ok, first time at the Dogwood, the menu is «meh» …potato skins, nachos, etc. I got the burger which was unremarkable. What really irked me was the the complete and utter lack of consideration regarding COATS… PEOPLE! So, everyone sitting at a hightop had no place to put there outerwear. I spent my entire dining experience with my coat, hat, mittens, and scarf piled in my lap because there is not one coat-hanger in the entire place. Major customer dining experience failure. When I mentioned this to the server, who asked me to move my coat, et al 3 times, he sad…“wear less next time.” I gave him 20% for karmic reasons, but I will NEVERGOBACK. It’s winter DOGWOOD… nice breezeway, but wake the F up! COATRACKS please, you IDIOTS!!!

Kristen was super sweet, as she and another waitress were super attentive to our table’s needs. I ordered the veggie-burger breakfast muffin with sausage– it was just marvelous!!! I swear, I thought it was real sausage!!! Tastes amazing, with a side of healthiness added to the mix :) The veggies homes fries were great as well. The combination of awesome service and great food is the reason(why my friend and I) always book this place for our reunions. As my friend introduced me to Dogwood, I will forever be grateful to her for introducing me to this restaurant.

Came here for brunch and was very impressed. The menu for brunch is full of typical items such as pancakes, french toast, and eggs benedict. I ended up getting the huevos rancheros which was an excellent combination of black beans, eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Personal preference, but I didn’t like the sweet potatoes mixed in the regular white potatoes. Getting a surprise sweet bite confused me. But again, personal preference. Next time I’ll ask for some tapatio to add a bit of spice. My boyfriend got the blueberry pancakes and left very satisfied. It was a huge stack that didn’t skimp on the blueberries. The waiter was so friendly and helpful, even though he was obviously busy. We were seated immediately even though it was Sunday morning. The atmosphere was friendly and laid back and even though it was a tad loud, we didn’t have any problems hearing each other. My one issue was the size of the coffee cup. Call me spoiled, but the little cup they provided simply wasn’t satisfying. I’ll be back!

Great service but Home fries were cold and the gluten free burrito(thats called a burrito on the menu) is actually just the contents of a burrito on a plate sans burrito

I really liked this place for brunch! Space: So cute! I really like the setup. The Patriots game was playing too. Drinks: My friend’s pomegranate mimosa was awesome, and I had a yummy pumpkin beer. Food: Everyone was really happy with their food. I was a little overwhelmed with choices, but we got some benedict, a burrito, some other things … they were all good!
