Breakfast is nice but reconstruction starts at 8:00 on the dot. It does not matter if you are on vacation and sleeping. Not very considerate of their guests.

The booking experience was horrible. Jamaal at the front desk was absolutely incompetent and unhelpful during check-in, not to mention being rude and disrespectful. I will never stay at this hotel or this hotel chain again.

Nice and quiet and clean. 4 stars because the shower didn’t work. 3 stars for how they handled it. I notified them that water pressure coming out of the faucet was really low and not enough to take a shower. They said, «it’s not specific to your room and we will contact maintenance and call you back.» I waited for 10 minutes and never received a phone call. I had to wash my hair under the faucet like a puppy gets a bath. On checkout she said, «sorry I forgot to call you back. It must be specific to your room.» All you need to get right is the bed and shower. They failed on half that. No compensation or an offer to shower in another room.

Spent 4 nights here. Not much to add to the previous reviews, everything was at or above a three star quality. What stood out was the spectacular location. Easy walking to several restaurants, Publix, & Starbucks, as well as, Wells Fargo Bank. Another plus was the indoor/outdoor pool, which had an open wall allowing people to enjoy both sides of the it. Although I didn’t use it, for those going to Mayo Clinic, the shuttle seemed very convenient. Breakfast was carb heavy but at least had some fresh fruit options to it. I’d stay again and wish I was there now.(See my HI Express-Mayport review as to why I miss the Wingate & for a comparison between the hotels.)

Overall, this hotel is a good value. Everything was what I expected for the price. What makes this hotel stand apart is the staff — they were super helpful and friendly. I would stay here again simply because of the quality of the staff. Otherwise, the hotel is average. The rooms are clean. The complimentary breakfast is OK. Note: If you are sensitive to light, then be warned that some of the rooms receive a lot of light at night from the outdoor lights that light up the hotel.

Check In: Fast and convenient. I received a follow-up call the first evening I was to be sure everything was good, that was a nice touch. The Room: The microwave and fridge worked well, internet connection was reliable and fast. Beds are not so comfortable and sheets are probably more of what you find at a 2-star accomodation. Good water pressure in the shower and my used towells were replaced with fresh ones every day. The décor is slightly dated and uninspired. Breakfast: Here is what is available: fruit, yogurt, waffles, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, cereal, coffee, and milk. I only had eggs, yogurt and OJ, which were all good enough to get me going. Fitness/Pool: There is no thermostat in the gym! I got overheated while working out. But the cardio machines work well and there is a weight machine, as well as a water cooler with towels. I really enjoyed the spa; my only gripe is that the pool area closes at 10pm. This hotel would be great for families and older travellers, as well as anyone going to the Mayo Clinic. Not great if you’re coming to JAX for the beach scene.
