I signed up my little Piscasso for the kid’s art class(Cookies and Canvas) since art is one of her favorite hobbies. These classes are recommended for kids ages 5 and up, although I think for this particular painting(Palm Tree Row), min age should be 7 or 8. The website has monthly calendars for both the adult and kids classes. Registration is done online as well. The email confirmation stated to arrive 15 — 30 mins early. We arrived 10 mins early and was plenty of time to check in, get an apron, pick out a snack and find a seat. There was only 10 ppl in the class, but if the class is getting full /sold out, maybe that’s when you’ll want to arrive 15 mins earlier if you want dibs on seating. At the very least, please be on time. A few people were late so the instructor started about 5 mins later. The cost of the class was $ 20, which included all the art supplies. The Wine and Canvas classes are $ 35 but their canvas size is larger. I think Lucas was the instructor’s name. He was very thorough and gave helpful hints along the way. His instructions were easy to follow and his pace was perfect. The hubby and I did take turns sitting next to my daughter for guidance, and had to try hard not to paint the hard parts for her. She enjoyed her first class and the painting turned out great!

Much like the ever growing popular Yes You Canvas and Painting with a Twist, Wine and Canvas is a company that holds events at local restaurants(Mimis Café and Tapa That, and more) and they even have there own studio now off of Phillips Highway. You can go to there website and view different paintings for the month and choose which painting you want to do. The picture of the painting shows where the class will be taught and the time it will be taught at. The price is $ 25-$ 35 and a canvas, paint and brushes are provided to you along with an instructor who teaches how to achieve the painting of your choice. The classes are very easy and you are free to be as creative as you like. The studio is even equipped with hair dryers in the event that your painting is not dry by the time the class is over. The classes I have been to so far have been very relaxed and fun! The studio has wine by the glass(cup) and beer and even a few snacks to choose from. If the class is held at a restaurant then you can order drinks and food if you wish off the regular restaurant menu. Wine and Canvas is even kid friendly. They also offer classes called Cookies and Canvas with the same concept in hand but different beverages ;) the Cookies and Canvas are slightly cheaper then the W&C, running about half of the price. All event info is located on the website and if you have any questions, just call, the staff are super friendly! Tip: sign up online for emails, they don’t send a ton of emails like most places but they recently sent a promo code for half off of the month of October so I pre purchased several classes!
