To sum up: + tons of stuff + good prices on the items that aren’t in the«Better Quality» section + great and frequent 50% off sales + ITEMSORGANIZEDBYSIZE(a Jax thrift store unicorn, that) + has dressing rooms + takes credit cards — dirty, especially the disgusting bathrooms — «Better Quality»(and random other items) extremely overpriced — some items are racked in three different places To explain: This is one of my most-frequented thrift stores because of its proximity to where we live, its frequent storewide sales(and regular daily tag sales), and its sheer volume of items. On most holidays they have storewide 50% off sales. One day I got jeans for $ 3 and a shirt for $ 2 and when I wore them together I kept singing, «Five. Five-dollar. Five-dollar outfit!» Of course, these were two mall brand items so it’s not like I was rocking some Walmart brand, and even at their not-50% off price would’ve been well worth the non-sale price of $ 10. This store is a bit bizarre in that most of its stuff is decently priced — say $ 5 for a dress, $ 4 for a skirt, $ 3 for a shirt — but the so-called Better Quality section has gotten ridiculous the last few years. An Ann Taylor shirt for $ 20? I’ve gotten brand new stuff *at* AT for less than that. This insane pricing can also be found randomly throughout the store. But, most of it is priced comparable to the local Goodwill stores. Just avoid the BQ section unless it’s a half price day — and even then you probably still won’t walk out with anything from there unless it’s something you need or adore. My favorite thing about this store other than the mostly good prices is that items are organized by size! I think there are only one or two other thrifts in town that do that. It a lot easier to shop here. The main down side to this thrift is that it’s dirty. In contrast to the many times I’ve been at local Goodwills and seen people actively cleaning, I’ve been to this store many times in almost a decade and I’ve never seen anyone cleaning. Not once. The bathrooms here are some of the worst I’ve ever seen in my life including exterior gas station bathrooms and the porta-potties at the beach. You will want to hold it or go over to McDonald’s and come back. To those who say there are sketchy-looking people there… I think that’s a thrift store requirement. But you know, most sketchy-looking people aren’t actually sketchy. Talk to a few and you’ll see. :) I’ve never seen any trouble there and I can and have even walked there a time or two. I think the police substation three doors down keeps it pretty safe. You’re probably safer here than at any other thrift in town because of the very close police presence. Anyway, I’d like to give The Thrift Center 3.5 stars. That’s not an option, so I’ll round up thanks to all the great deals I’ve found there.

This place is huge! It’s in a good location right near the police department but some of the people I saw were somewhat questionable. This is your typical thrift store with mainly old undesirable items scattered about, but I enjoy the hunt for the perfect find so I explored the store. I wasn’t so lucky here other than a pair of good drinking glasses; there were definitely some unusual items. They have a vast amount of clothing, purses, toys and housewares. I was literally on overload. If you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, this place is huge and may prove to be exciting for the dedicated thrifter.
