Really wanted to like this place after a friend raved about it and looking at other reviews, but we did not have a good experience with either of our entrees or dessert. :-( Entrée one was the Monday meatloaf special w/green beans, mashed potatoes and a biscuit. The brown gravy was oddly sweet/tart/ketchup-y — almost sour like a German meat dish. The meat was smooth & had the texture of being heavily processed — not like any meatloaf we’ve ever had or made. The mashed potatoes were almost glossy smooth — could be wrong but texture was like instant. The green beans seemed like they came from a can — which in and of itself is not necessarily bad — they weren’t overly mushy and had decent seasoning. The biscuit was either homemade(or came from one of those trays at Sam’s Club that look like homemade) good appearance/taste. This was my guest’s meal and he barely ate any of it, opting to fill up at Sonic instead after we left here where«it’s cheaper and familiar»(direct quote). Entrée two was the steak-in-a-sack, which was ordered w/no veggies and just provolone cheese. When it came out there were giant pieces of onion throughout. I took it back up to the counter where they explained the steak they use is already cooked w/onion, but since they didn’t tell me that when I said«no veggies», they offered to remake mine w/roast beef by itself plus the provolone. The replacement sandwich came out fairly quickly and seemed really good at first bite, but then I quickly realized the meat was way too salty, like very briny. This may have been the result of trying to make the roast beef taste more like the onion cooked beef & the cook just got heavy handed w/the soy or other seasoning sauce that is used — so I can’t say it is typical of what their steak-in-a-sack normally tastes like since with all the onions, I didn’t actually taste the first sandwich that was served. The cannoli was freshly filled w/cannoli cream & chocolate chips into a pre-baked shell. The filling was velvety smooth and just sweet enough. However, the shell was slightly overbaked so that it was very hard and had a slightly burnt taste, which I couldn’t get past. After the first 2 bites I cracked open the shell and just scraped out the filling. The limeade was good, but could’ve been more tart. The sample of «love juice» we tried was very good — it’s their own recipe blend of several different fruit juices — and seems like it would be amazing over ice or even shaved ice. My guest said he will never be back, but given the personal endorsement of our friend who is a regular, plus the other very positive reviews, I am willing to give it another try with different menu items, like maybe the camel rider which is the Wednesday«hump day» special, or the Friday 30-shrimp special w/2 sides for $ 9.99. Plus I think I’ll ask my friend what he usually orders & maybe try that.

I came to this side of town craving a taco, but ended up stopping here to grab some gyros because I was hungry. The owner makes the majority of her food upon order so there may be a small wait time. Just remember, patience is a virtue, but I was in no real rush. And such an interesting place indeed… The menu is extensive and all over the walls so this is the type of place you can eat at everyday and not get sick of because you can always order something different. There are daily specials and prepared homemade salads and sides inspired by the comfort foods of yesterday. They suppose to have good chicken wings. And don’t forget the array of desserts on display… She has a nice Friday night 30-piece shrimp special with two sides for $ 9.99. The shrimps are lightly dusted and perfectly fried using secret family recipes. In fact, most of the salads in the refrigerated area are her mother’s recipes with her own little spin. And she would gladly let you sample any of them before you buy. The daily special is generous and I was told the place gets pretty busy with the breakfast and lunch crowd. May check that out. Overall, I spent about $ 40 for dinner for two: two gyros, one 30 pcs. shrimp special with fries, a few different containers of sides(tabouli, anti-pasta, loaded baked potato salad, krab salad & deviled eggs). With a complimentary glass of her«Love Juice» to-go, it was definitely worth the money. I’m a fan.

Great food! Does not look like much from the road but as soon as you take a bite you will understand why I rated this place with 5 stars. Not only is the food delicious but everyone who works there is really nice and welcoming. Check out the Shepards pie, you won’t be disappointed! Your friends from Carpet Surgeon’s Inc

I stopped here after a trip to Home Depot with my pops. He had said that there was a little sandwich place on the corner. I figured let’s give it a shot. It’s definitely your typical little sandwich joint, got the steak’n’a’sack. It was pretty okay. Didn’t get a chance to taste anything from the deli case, but it all looked good.

Just left and felt compelled to write a review. Let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised. Wednesday special was meatball sub. Very good, one of the best I’ve had in a while. Thursdays special is a sausage and pepper sub. Fridays is a shrimp Po– boy. I’ll check back Friday and see how the Po-boy is. But the meatball was defiantly worth having.
