Had an awesome birthday lunch with my team from work. I had the whiskey burger with fries and the s’mores brownie shake. Everything was absolutely delicious. The flavor from the burger was on point as I had it medium well and the creole mayo and spicy ketchup added an even more flavorful dance on my tongue. The shake was a deviation from my normal choice of rocky road but it didn’t fail in satisfying my craving for a delicious shake. I could taste the full flavor from the graham cracker crumble in the concoction of vanilla ice cream and marshmallow and brownie chunks. Overall, my meal was fanatic, the ambience was perfect for a nice celebratory birthday lunch with coworkers and just an overall awesome experience.

My son and I hit a different place for burgers every weekend, based on advice of friends and co-workers. I think we finished at nine restaurants total. This place topped my list. The sides are good. The staff is quick and friendly. I like the atmosphere. My son’s vote had this burger at number 2 overall, but what the hell does he know? He’s 12.

Big disappointment. I had heard so many wonderful things about this place and was excited to eat here. I went on a Wednesday night and it was dead. The service was terrible and slow. I think she was out smoking the entire time. Our food was really cold. The fries stale and nasty. The burgers cold. We ordered mac n cheese and it was terrible, burnt and cold. I also got the strawberry lemonade; a total waste of money and was full of lemon seeds. This place could care less about what they serve and it shows by how dead it is. There are so many other good options. Avoid The Blind Rabbit. It’s not worth your time or money.

The Blind Rabbit has a very fun and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was awesome – thorough with descriptions of items on the menu, forthcoming with satisfactory recommendations, and extremely attentive. Very good shakes(and you can make them«adult» if you like); good poutine; fresh salads; interesting burger choices. I’m looking forward to going back and trying a few more items on the menu, like the wings and the rootbeer float.

Their pork belly & fried oyster burger with a side of the peach hot sauce is definitely worth trying! It’s the only thing I order when I come in. I’d skip the mac&cheese side bc it is bland. Their fries are good and they have special ketchup that they make in house that’s also worth trying. I wasn’t a fan of their Bloody Mary and to make it worse, I asked the server to bring tobasco to flavor it up and she brought buffalo sauce. It made it worse. Bottomless mimosas on Sunday’s for $ 10 and their brunch menu is decent.

Walked in and heard the sweet sounds of Soja playing over the speakers. I knew I was in the right place. I ordered the local beer and the Cuban sandwich. I was blown away. Great service and great food.

Extensive and creative menu. Helpful and friendly staff. Perfect ambiance. We stopped for dinner on our road trip and loved this little gem! The manager greeted us immediately and was so kind throughout our experience. Likewise his wait staff was friendly and attentive. I always ask the staff for recommendations and they did not disappoint! I ordered the most amazing chef’s special burger. Everything about it was perfect even though it was a little out of my comfort zone. Everything else was from their regular menu and it was so good. Cast iron macaroni. Local craft beer. Maple bacon candied pecan milkshake. I wish I lived here so I could try everything! Their whiskey list was incredibly extensive.

Just an average spot. Came in as an out of towner and popped in around 7p on a Saturday evening. Pretty disappointing, especially because I get SO excited to try new food and drink spots when traveling. Positives: — Abita strawberry on draft — server Rachel was awesome — the wings were decent Negatives: — the burgers sucked — the grits tasted like cardboard — the bartender was pretty meh — the tacos were bland Everything was just pretty ok. Won’t be back.

First of all, once again Unilocal to the rescue! we went to the blind Rabbit on a sunday around 12noon and it was just starting to get a little busy. I like the Décor of the place and the service was exceptional. We ordered the hamburger and GF ordered the shrimp & Grits and both items were excellent. They really have a unique menu and i can only imagine this place would pack it in on the weekends or after work, we really enjoyed ourselves and will make it a point to come back if were in Jax. again.

What great food and friendly staff who acknowledge you the moment you walk in! We came in from the back(parking isn’t always easy to find) so we got to see their garden which houses herbs and greens they use for their dishes. It was a great experience with great cocktails and interesting dishes.

Ever had a restaurant you take visitors to but never actually go when you’re looking for a place? Yea. That’s how I am with The Blind Rabbit. I always take out of towners for the hip atmosphere and the great concept, but I never actually want to go there. Their burgers are ok. A bit overthought and overwrought, but passable. I’ve been half a dozen times and nothing else has ever spoken to me on the menu. Their cocktails are their redeeming value. They hire some excellent bartenders who can make a good drink. Their options are tremendous and you’ll find yourself wanting to try any number of new concoctions or spirits. It’s a great little bar… …which makes the food feel little more than glorified bar food. It’s pretty yuppy/Bourgeois in that«we all have beards, drink whiskey, and wear suspenders» hipster sort of way.

Found this place from reviews online. The kids and I came in for an early dinner. This place is amazing. The flavored in the pork chops and mashed potatoes are sooooooo delicious. The kids loved the burgers and fries. The Mac and cheese was a huge hit. Will definitely be coming back several times. Think we have found our new favorite spot.

Very disappointed as both my fiancé and I have heard good things here. It got off to a good start as when you walk in there is a blackboard with tons of whiskey choices. I had the High Point double rye which was pretty decent. This review is mainly on the service and it’s really unfortunate that our first experience here went down like so… It all started when my fiancé gets her salad and immediately a bug crawls out of the bed of lettuce. Not okay! Obviously this stuff happens and it’s not the server’s fault. However, we immediately pointed this out to him and he proceeded to stick his finger on her plate and tried to drag the bug off. That was odd… how about grabbing the plate and getting a new salad? He then asks her if she wanted to change out the plate in a tone as if it was inconvenient for him. I nicely asked him to get a new salad, which he did(I think). After waiting about 5 more minutes he came back with what looked to be the same chicken on a new bed if lettuce. Not once did he check in and simply apologize for this inconvenience or have a manager come by. Having previously been a server, that’s just a no brainer. Lastly, when we asked for the bill, I put my card down immediately. No, the salad was not comped, which is not a given but just compounded our bad experience. After waiting about 10 minutes, I had to ask another server who was kind enough to close us out. We ended up being late for our show which solidified an officially terrible experience due to service. I would love to have loved this place as I’m a whiskey fan and my food was actually ok! But to me, service is a big reason why I love to eat out, and we will not be back.

I love this restaurant. It is beautiful inside. They have a great variety of whiskeys for the whiskey connoisseur. The food is phenomenal. I had the shrimp and grits which was on of the best shrimp and grits dishes I’ve had. The home cooked potato chips with Gorgonzola and balsamic vinegar glaze were really yummy. My companions had sandwiches and raved about them.

Without a doubt the best hamburger in Jacksonville. And if you love fried green tomatoes, they are the best I think I have ever eaten. Goat cheese grits, need I say more. Yum!!!

I went to The Blind Rabbit after a weekend from the cesspool of hell, due to a messed up wedding, which is why Jacksonvill became a pitstop. It was a distance from South Carolina. When I first entered the place, I noticed people having fun in front of the football game and the servers with a smile. 1 star so far. The cleanliness was amazing. 2 stars so far. The food was amazing and impressed my father. 3 stars so far. The comfort of the area and the ambience was top of the line. 4 stars so far. Mark, on the servers was very friendly and intelligent. He went out of his way to assist everyone. 5 Stars!

We visited based on both an experience at the Beaches location and their ability to accommodate our party of 12 with a reservation through Open Table. Even though this was on a Sunday evening and they only had a handful of tables occupied throughout our entire visit, we would never return to this location. To start, even though they had our reservation the table was not set up. Once we were seated, our table was split in the middle so that«the server could have better access.» Our menus were grimy and had food on them. These things were just the beginning of a wasted night at The Blind Rabbit. The macaroni and cheese was dry as a bone for the 4 people that ordered it as an appetizer. The Gorgonzola cheese chips were one of the few dishes we would choose to order again. Salads ordered at the beginning of the meal were served after the entrees came out. My medium rib-eye steak was done medium well and the person sitting next to me ordered the same exact thing and their steak was way beyond well done(my mom orders her steak«well done burnt» and that steak would have satisfied her completely). Needless to say I struggled through my steak and the other guest sent theirs back. The second time it came out rare/mid-rare, which they suffered through for fear of getting another way overdone steak. 0 The water service was abysmal. My glass was empty for in excess of 10 minutes. When I requested a refill it took another 5 minutes and the server used water that had absolutely no chill. It took another 10 minutes to request a glass of ice and then another 10 minutes to receive it. Alcoholic beverage service was a little more attentive, but not on par with industry standard. The alcoholic beverages were good, so this might be a good place to come for just that. The feedback from other guests was that their burgers and fries were quite good, but other side items were a disappointment, especially in comparable portion size. The pepper jelly on one of the burgers was a watery sweet sauce that disappeared into the bun and the peppers were a dash of diced fresh peppers, neither of these do a pepper jelly make. Our server would disappear for long periods of time even though there were not many tables. Perhaps he thought his job was completed and he could take it a little easy, but if you have the extra tie to provide exceptional service, why not? Instead we received service that was notably poor. We did feel the drink prices were good. The food prices were average for the bar type food, but some other menu items, like the sliver cut of rib-eye, were extravagant and the kitchen could not cook properly. The lack of being prepared for our reservation and the general griminess of the facility and the menus, just sat the stage for what was a negative experience all around. Clearly there is no active management present at this location.

FINALLY writing my review for one of the best places in Jax to grab a burger! Time and time again I come to Blind Rabbit when I’m in the mood for a speakeasy style drink with a deliciously terrible-for-my-heart burger filled with creativity. Favorites include the Southern and the BBQ burgers. All are huge, and paired with a root or carbalicious side, you better have a huge appetite or be ready to take something home. Comfort foods mac n cheese, grits and house made chips are consistently excellent and a decent portion. I usually sit at the bar, which is always tended by a wonderful to look at and pleasant person. Because of the heaviness of this cuisine, I only visit when I’m mentally prepared to have some pretty serious comfort food with no regrets and plenty of time(food takes quite long to come out, so enjoy the atmosphere and your stiff drink). They have started doing brunch here; maybe I’ll check that out some time to switch things up. We’ll see. Either way: Blind Rabbit is on my top burgers of Jax list and is worth its bite.

I’ve been here lots of times with friends when we want a good beer and whiskey selection and great bar food. If you want to come here on a weekend, make a reservation. This is a popular spot and you’ll have to wait an hour for a table. They have a good variety of craft beers, lots of different whiskeys to choose from and you can even get a flight of whiskeys if you can’t make up your mind. With all this alcohol that is offered, there have been a few times I may have had too many but the staff is always so friendly and helpful. Their customer service is great, they’re knowledgeable on their menu and are accommodating when they can be. My favorite menu item is their shrimp and grits. I love their peach habanero sauce, it’s spicy, so beware if you have a low tolerance for spicy foods. I don’t like grits but their goat cheese grits are delicious. My husband loves their burgers. They are pretty delicious and unique. This is the place we go when we want a burger. I’ve also had their fries, gorgonzola chips and poutine. The fries and poutine were ok, I like my fries to have more potato and their fries are lacking in that department. The gorgonzola chips were surprisingly tasty.

Always a great meal, but the experience is so much more than food. Great atmosphere, great people, the whiskey selection is legit. The specials are always so hard to pass up. Their shakes are top notch; thick and packed with flavor. They support the local art community; a Shaun Thurston mural adorns the exterior of the building and there is a revolving installation of local art on the interior walls. I have been a fan since they were rolling the city in their food truck and I will continue to patronize the place in until they kick me out. The world could use more places that make you feel so at home.

Thank you fellow Unilocalers. I followed your reviews to the Blind Rabbit and was very pleased with the experience. I had the southern burger with southern potato salad and an I-10 to wash it all down. This is a good amount of food for the price so arrive hungry. This amazing burger was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life(and I’ve tried a lot of them). It’s adventurous and surprising and a perfection of different flavors. It had a fried green tomato, Creole pimento cheese, peach habanero hot sauce, arugula, georgia cane syrup and pickled okra on a brioche bun. It’s amazing. The southern potato salad was light and the flavors were creamy and delicious. I can’t wait to return to try their other dishes. This is my new favorite place.

There are a few dishes I strongly recommend and some that I don’t recommend. The fried greed tomatoes are always a must. I like them because of the goat cheese topping and sauce. It also has a good amount of breading. The burgers are very good. I enjoyed the blues burger, because it had the perfect amount of blue cheese(not overpowering). It is also very filling. I shared half of a burger and appetizer with a friend. It was a lot! I was not the biggest fan of the fish tacos. They were okay, but they were not outstanding. For the sauces: the curry mayo is very interesting. I would recommend it if you like curry. The dessert is too sweet for my taste. I could not handle the milkshake nor the bread pudding in a cast iron skillet(special).

This is a really awesome local spot! Heather was our waitress and she was absolutely awesome! Super nice and helpful, attentive and put up with our indecisive table! I had the Holick burger with mac and cheese on the side. I ordered it medium, but it came out more on the medium rare side which was the only complaint I had about the burger. It’s an extremely messy and delicious burger. It had pork belly, arugula, tomato, over easy egg and lemon aioli on it. The mac and cheese was really good with the panko breadcrumbs on top that added a nice salty crunch. I tried some of my sisters french fries which are handcut and those were very good along with the garlic aioli she got on the side to dip them in. For dessert I had the s’mores milkshake, which tasted more like peanut butter than a s’more, but it was still really good and came with a marshmellow and brownie on top and spiked with moonshine! They have a really awesome happy hour for beer, which is what I was drinking. All of their beers on their draft menu were $ 3.00. Great selection to choose from ranging from lagers to pale ales to IPAs to stouts. I will definitely be coming back here when in the area again!

Best bourbon list I have seen outside of Louisville. Highly recommended for just that. The food came out all at once, for a party of 6, which is a rare feat these days. Happy hour specials on beer, wine, and well liquor until 7 are a plus. I ordered fried green tomatoes for an app, and the Southern Burger for my entrée, including pimento cheese and a fried green tomato. The breading on the tomato was crispy and delicious, adding a nice texture. The burger came out just right temp-wise. Service was adequate for a 4 – 5 star rating, multiple refills on water when needed, information and attentiveness above average. I’m not a fan of the TVs playing various sports. It doesn’t jive with the ambience. Highly recommended location. Good beer, amazing liquor options, food was delicious.

This place serves FOOD, not health food, so if the thought of eating real food, turns your stomach or you have a weak heart, be warned… DONOTREADANYFURTHER!!! This was one of our many trips to JAX. My SO, myself and her girlfriend were in town for a weekend of fun. The night before, Friday, we were out late and we didn’t get back to our room and to bed until around 4 a.m. We were up by 9 a.m. and promptly ordered breakfast to our room. Fell back to sleep for a few hours, woke up, started drinking again and spent the afternoon at the pool. Around 4 p.m. we all realized we were STARVING. It didn’t help the pool was right outside Ruth’s Chris, which wouldn’t be open for hours. I suggested we go tear into some juicy burgers and some whiskey. So we end up at the Blind Rabbit. This was my 3rd time here and I previously came here with a couple of friends and had drinks and dinner at the bar. The place was always busy, so on this trip I made reservations. We arrived a few minutes before our reserved time were promptly seated. I ordered a High West Double Rye. . My SO took a sip, which is dangerous, because Jack Daniels tends to turn her into a Jackass, but a fun one… most of the time. She commented…“That’s some potent shit! I’m going to stick to my double shot of house vodka”…puke! Well, even though I value her opinion, my High West was potent, but very good. Way better than any rot gut house vodka. Her GF had a Blackberry Lemonade, which my SO and I got to sample. They both loved it, I stuck with my whiskey. For an App, we started with the Cast-Iron-Mac and Cheese. We were so hungry, we completely DEVOURED this dish is short order. Please reference the for mentioned day of drinking and not eating. It was good and cheesy. We all commented we were hoping it would have been baked and have a layer of slightly burnt/crisp cheese on top. Even though it did not, we would all get this again. For dinner, my SO had the Blues Burger, with fries her GF had the Helick Burger with asparagus and carrots… she’s kind of health nut and I had the only burger I’ve ever had here… the Whiskey Burger with tobacco onions. Are you catching on? I like whiskey. Her GF thoroughly enjoyed her burger. We had to take her word for it, because neither of us got to sample it. My SO took a few bites of her Blues Burger and commented«wow this really has a shit ton of blue cheese on it». My burger was perfect as it has always been. I got two bites and offered my SO a bite… I never got my burger back and quickly noticed her burger on my plate! It was okay, because it brought happiness to her and that meant we would all be happy… :) I have to agree, her burger, well now my burger, had more blue cheese than necessary. If you really like blue cheese, then order this burger, if you only kinda of like blue cheese, say like in a dressing for dipping celery in at your favorite wing bar, then I would say to stay away from this burger. All I can say is try this place… great food and atmosphere!!!

Went here for a tasting dinner with foodie adventures, so got to try an assortment of things(6 course!) the restaurant itself is very hip and modern, cool place to come chill. Now the food!: Fried green tomatoes — fried with crispy crust had a peach habanero sauce on plate sprinkled with goat cheese and corn tomato relish… Delicious, great dish, love the combo sweet, spicy, salty, crunchy Pork and fries-their take on fish and chips but with pork belly… No just not my thing… To me a piece of pork fat that was battered and fried… I just can’t do it… Fries were however house cut and good Shrimp and grits — goat cheese grits, plump shrimp, with a sweet/spicy cream sauce, with peppers and sausage… Great flavors! The shrimp were cooked perfectly… Loved this dish Mr. Miyagi Slider —(they are known for their burgers and this did not disappoint!) I had never tried a burger here, but hear they are so good! Kimchi ketchup, pickled Asian veggies… Sooo good! It all just worked together… The patty tasted really good too… I’ll definitely come try a burger Duck empanadas — nice fried pocket of yummy, duck, mushrooms, onions, sage, scallions, served with a horseradish crema… Plated beautiful… Good flavor liked the horseradish sauce particular Cereal killer milkshake — tasted just like the sweet milk left over from your bowl of cereal. Yum Great night and got great feel of what to come back to get more of!
