I came for an ombré with Tatiana. Showed her EXACTLY what I wanted. If she couldn’t do that for whatever reason she should have told me so because what I got was the opposite of what I showed her. As a college student, I don’t have a lot of money, and came here on the glowing recommendation of someone I trust. $ 230 and over four hours later, I left in tears. I had a 3 hour drive back to school and cried the whole way. I am so disappointed, broke and I look terrible.

After a horrible experience at another salon, I decided to give this salon a shot since it has stellar reviews — Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed — I knew I was in the right place once I saw the stylist’s haircuts and vivid/​fun colors!
Amber definitely won me over, today! Not only is she sweet and friendly but she listens to her client and what they want to do with their hair, be it a cut, color, style or future plans for your head!
I had a bit of an issue finding the salon (GPS, go figure) but other than that, it was an EXCELLENT experience! I got the exact cut I wanted and price was more than fair!
Great little salon… I’m here for the next two years and I have definitely found my salon and stylist! Highly recommend!

I cannot rave about this place enough!
Amber was my stylist/​colorist, and she did an amaaaaaaaaazing job taking me from black to blonde. I knew going in that I wouldn’t be able to get the blonde-​blonde look that I wanted in one go, so I anticipated on coming back in one or two more visits. Amber totally surpassed my expectations and was able to lighten up my hair more so than what we thought we’d be able to achieve for the visit. (We were expecting a darkish caramel color, and it ended up being an almond-​honey.) She also put in a bunch of beautiful blonde highlights throughout and lifted/​colored my hair so that it was a bayalage and not just a mop of startling blonde hair.
Another thing that just made my day was that she was VERY GENTLE with my hair. It didn’t get fried or break off or get damaged at all. She was so gentle with my hair during the lightening process that I didn’t even need a trim at the end!
I loved the fact that Amber was extremely patient and took the time on my hair to get the right look. We were there waaaaaay past closing time and I felt bad about it, but she assured me that it was okay. Even though I still felt horrible about it, I was relieved that she still took the time and care to do things right instead of trying to hurry up and finish and rush me out the door. IMHO, that spoke volumes about their level of service.
Although this visit gave my wallet a little punch in the gut (more than what I initially expected before my appt, but just under what was quoted during the consultation) the level of service I received and the results that I got were worth every single penny paid and then some. My hair is light enough that I don’t have to come back for Round 2 – I can just come back for highlights and be set for a month or two. But I’ll probably end up going back to go another shade or two (or 3 or 4) lighter. We’ll see how I feel in a month or so, but for now I’m very happy! :D

I have had some bad haircuts and had to fix it multiple times. Tatiana fixed my hair finally. I will def come back.

Amber is the best stylist in Jacksonville. She is not only concerned about giving you the best hair style and color but is also genuinely interested in the condition of your hair and is great about making recommendations for helping you have the healthiest hair possible. Her personality is all over her new salon and I love it and her. She has a great team and I can’t wait to watch her dreams play out for her salon and the staff coming along beside her.

Amber has been my hair artist for several years and I am loving her new salon. The location is great, the staff is super sweet, the ambiance is awesome. Every month when it’s time for my appointment, I get so amped up because I know that I am getting a break from my kiddos and I’m going to be pampered, feel relaxed and leave looking awesome! I get so so so many compliments on my hair and since I have struggled all of my life with having very limp, straight and style-​less hair… This is a big deal. I love my hair now and have Amber to thank for it. Make an appointment. You won’t be disappointed with any of the stylists. They are all incredibly talented and so nice. Love Steele Hair Gallery!
