My fiancé and I came here for the first time with his parents when they were in town. They are from AZ and we wanted them to have some good seafood while they were here. Needless to say we were all very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. They were very busy when we got there(they were having a special on their fried shrimp), but we didn’t mind the wait. The place is small and seems more of a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ type atmosphere, which I love and look for. When we were seated our waiter was great and attentive. We ordered the gator tail for the appetizer as his parents had never had it, and it was delicious! We decided to split 2 of their crab pots which had snow crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. Neither couple could finish their pot, there was enough left over for another meal almost! I cannot wait to go back for another round here!

Trying ship to shore was crowded on a friday. seemed to be some issues with servers heard them complaining about each other. Some waitresses bought out a crab dip to try. none of mine so there might be some consistency issues. Seafood bisque was very good. Grits were mediocre it was bland and frys were fresh and crispy. I got endless shrimp and fish for 16.99. 1st time u get any style the rest all fried. I got the blackened and picked pollack over tillapia. Did not like the pollock I tasted just blackened seasonings. the blackened shrimp were much better. 2nd go around trying fried shrimp those were the best so far nice breading and not overcooked. I asked for some buffalo sauce but it came after I ate shrimp. Could have waited it tasted like pure hot sauce with pepper. Tillapia was bland have to say I am. a bit disappointed. I had high hopes for a new place on southside. I will come back and try something else to be fair but first time in not impressed. I may have to go back to the hood for good seafood. I’m giving them 3 stars cause I loved the fried shrimp and soup.

Typically when I eat seafood I prefer the place to be near the water, but ship 2 shore was delicious, regardless of location. I got the steak and shrimp, my girlfriend got a seafood pasta, and we got the coconut shrimp for an appetizer. We both really enjoyed the food and hospitality of the staff. My steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it. And my girlfriend’s pasta portion was large enough for her to need to-go box. I’d eat here again.

Finally a seafood place opened in this part of town! The Blackened jumbo shrimp was seasoned great but I kept noticing something gritty in it. Maybe they needed rinsed better before cooking? The fries were flakey on the outside. My favorite type. Sweet potato fries were good! Coconut shrimp could be improved. It must have been coconut powder vs shredded coconut because it wasn’t very noticeable. It came with a pineapple dipping sauce but I think I would have preferred sweet chili sauce as a dip. Fried Pollock and tartar sauce was great. Hush puppies ehh. I prefer Carolina style ones(shaped like a boat and sweeter… And not so undercooked inside)… But the round ones seem traditional in FL. The fried pickles and fried okra were good, but the breading was falling off. So even though I might sound slight negative, its probably my favorite seafood place in Jacksonville now.

Sweet fried shrimp. Taste the goodness of the ocean. Seafood bisque, tomato base with lobster and shrimp. Needed 2 drops of hot sauce. Greek Vinegrett salad dressing. Fish dip with crackers to start.

I was disappointed to hear that the previous restaurant in this location(Farah’s Pita Stop Café) had closed but found Ship 2 Shore to be a nice surprise. It is much smaller then before and looks completely different. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and we were all happy with our food. We had fried mushrooms and mozarella sticks to start and both were good. They had a light breading so you could actually taste the mushrooms and cheese. I had shrimp, fries, and green beans. The shrimp was very good(I had it «boom boom» style) and the fries were super crispy(which I really like). I barely end the green beans, only because I had so much food. The only real complaint I would have is the fact that they say the shrimp, fish, etc can be cooked«any way» but the menus don’t include any list or info so we had to make our waitress list them off. It would be super helpful for them to be listed. Overall, a good spot for seafood in the area.

I was hoping for something better than another fried fish and shrimp place in Jacksonville. I felt like this place wasn’t much more than this. To try and deviate from the typical options we got a bucket of crab and shrimp with sausage and corn. The dish was way over seasoned. I don’t think we’ll be back. If you like«shrimp basket» type meals, though, this place may be good for you!

Went back again and it was so weird. Our waitress was really hustling us to order came back to our table 5 times within 3 minutes, when we were both still clearly reading the menu. Didn’t greet us when we walked in the door, only acknowledged us once we said hello to her, and acted super irritated that we were there like we were bothering her. I decided to go spend my money somewhere else so we left. Too bad… Probably won’t be back to this location again.

Good seafood restaurant. I come back to this place. The fried shrimp was good. They seem to have really good specials here. They offer several different AYCE items. All in all nice restaurant good service.

Only getting four stars because we all got the same thing… Fried shrimp dinners. But they were great! Plenty of food, good prices, friendly service. What else are you looking for? This ain’t Marker 32, so don’t think your getting gourmet food, but if you want some good olé fish, shrimp and sweet tea this place is awesome.

Good food, need a larger area to sit customers and people waiting to sit down. Somewhat unorganized and a few customers left due to the confusion. I had oysters, fish and shrimp. Probably small size would work. Took home enough food to feed another person between my wifes order and mine in left overs.

Was quite surprised to find such a delicious seafood restaurant located in a shopping plaza. We heard about S2S from friends and decided to check it out. The place is clean and simply styled. The service was excellent. We were greeted and seated by a pleasant smiling hostess and quickly met our server. Lauren was very knowledgeable about the menu and was eager to share all the great deals with a smile on her face. My husband had the AYCE tilapia lunch special while I tried the shrimp with good old southern fried green tomatoes. Delicious. Make sure you try the homemade«boom boom“sauce. Next time I plan to save room for key lime pie.

Ship 2 Shore is a great little hole in the wall. Took the family there and everyone enjoyed their meals. Got the ribeye and scampi and it was delicious– though the steak was a little overcooked and scampi didn’t have enough salt. Another person at our table got the crab and shrimp boil and it was huge! They were running a shrimp dinner special– 30 shrimp for $ 10 and that was a hit with my mom. You can’t go wrong with this unpretentious place. The staff are super attentive and friendly too!

Oh my goodness!!! It is delicious! My husband and I moved to jax about 6wks ago from the gulf coast. We have really been missing those little Appalachicola restaurants but we have now found something as good, if not better. The seafood is fresh and the prices are great. A seafood restaurant that you can still take your family to and not break the bank! The service is outstanding. Sara was our server and she was terrific. Thanks guys for the wonderful experience. See you soon! Teenah and Mike
